Hello, i have a problem, i updated phone to lollipop and after that i don't have network. My G2 is 16gb D802 from UAE.
I tried to fix it but unsuccessfully. I tried:
-Kdz flashing lollipop
-TOT flashing
-Some tricks with airplane mode
Can anybody help me?

Yes, turn on your phone, take your sim card out and re install it, go to network setting and set it to global, leave it like that for some time and it will automatically set your network.
I have had same issue, after updating a rom i get no network. So i set it to global and leave it like that for almost an hour then when i reached my phone again, its connected to network.

That didn't help, but thanks. I think i found a problem when i get in unlock sim menu it says that may phone is permanently locked and can't be unlocked, does someone know how to fix that?

Dunno why its sim locked. Did it used to detect sim before?

I can't type unlock code it doesn't let me, when i go to unlock menu 2945#*802# it says that phone is permanently locked and can't be unlocked.

is there a way to reset the service mode stuff i went into so i can get a sim recognized again...help...

I mentioned this in the other thread but you can go back through the menu steps and turn SHA256 back on and see if it makes a difference. You can also see if you have another "golden backup" with SHA256 on and see if you can restore it. It might not help or even work but at this point you have nothing to lose. In the future, pay attention to warnings and let the experience of others guide your decisions Good luck..

If it asked for a code with a non-carrier sim then it is detecting a sim. If the original sim says no sim then make sure it is not in backwards.

Did you try what I suggested with the SHA256 settings??
Tried it...same error...it says its set back to on now..this is so depressing. Do I now have. 600 sollar brick

Was there another "golden backup" available with SHA256ON? If so, try to restore it and see if it is the same. If it doesn't exist or it doesn't work, I would say you are screwed.
I only have one backup ..that's all I see tried to restore the existing nv backup still no go. I may cry
If I flash a modem file from odin will anything potentially fix it?
I had this same issue without even doing the unlock method. Found a blog somewhere where lots of ppl were having the same issue. Ended up having to warranty exchange.
Did you exchange through your carrier or through samsung directly

Odin back to stock and see if that resolve the issue. If not then take the phone in to see if it's your sim card. If it's not the sim card then just get a replacement. Good luck.

Replaced through carrier. No issues. They said theyd had a lot of returns for this issue. Had my new phone the next day.
Is there a way to undo these changes, I mean revert back to original state/backup?

and it will rebuild your EFS ..
I just unlocked mine with this method.everthing went fine as far as I can tell ..on reboot it now says unlocked custum with a padlock animation "unlocked"i don't have another sim to test ...

Unfortunately, people don't read. The "Unlock for free" thread is full of warnings and there are still people screwing their phone's up. It's still full of, "Guys, it didn't work for me,why?" and my favorite, "Guys, my phone won't unlock at all now" threads. At this point, I just laugh at the fools. Oh, and the warnings were there before you tried it as well.
I bought a used I9506 that was locked.
I tried some unlocking guides but nothing worked so i bought a unlock code from the operator, but now it can't even find a network. I don't think the EFS folder is corrupt because the correct IMEI still shows up when I type *#06# in the dialer. I have tried different CSCs but nothing changes so I don't know what the problem is. Have anyone experienced similar problems or know any solutions to this?

1. Factory reset your device and try again.
2. Buy other unlock code coz seems your device is locked again.

I have tried to factory reset many times but nothing changes.
I can't use any unlock codes because I don't have any network at all (I can't even call 112 or 911).

I have tried many different SIM cards from different operators.
My brother who lives in dubai used his sim card in this phone but ever since i got the phone in Pakistan ive tried using my sim but i get no service.
My guess is it only works with 4g LTE but i cant try cuz where i live here's only 3g and 2g coverage.
So i started using it as a wifi tablet.
Dialed *#06# and it showed both imei numbers but ever si ce i updated to purenexus 7.1.2 rom it gives me the same service error but dialing *#06# gives nothing but two plain zeroes like in the screenshot. Can anyone please help me resolve this i would greatly appreciate any help regarding this.please help my phone is useless without a sim card.
Screenshots show how it detects the sim card perfectly and gets the number.

I've never used rsdlite. Can u please provide me a tutorial for my phone and how I can flash all the files. I only know flashing through fastboot or twrp. Thanks

So here's what happened:
Got a message to reboot my non rooted Mi A1 in order to finish the november update
Clicked on it and waited for the reboot, which took a while
Screen kept flashing, but mostly a black screen with now and then a flash of my background and the task bar in the top of the screen.
Went to this forum to find answers and solutions
OEM was locked and couldn't access the phone, so unlocking OEM and flashing stock was not an option.
Saw someone mention you can switch the active partition. It was set on B and I changed it to A.
Phone works fine with that option, but the message that the update has failed keeps popping up and it gives an error when I try to redownload and reinstall the update.
If anyone knows what the recommended steps are to fix this issue it would be most helpful!
PS. Also if I have to unlock OEM that means it will wipe the phone right? Any tips on backing up the apps including their user data (meaning I won't have to reconnect authenticators to my phone, won't lose game date etc.)

Yup that is the same issue. Can I contact you somehow? I semifixed it in that I can use the phone again, but updates are impossible.

I have the same issue and the only way that I find is flashing October stock firmware and select the active partition A and then upgrade to November OTA update

Does that method wipe the phone? If I am correct you have to unlock the bootloader which requires a complete wipe of your phone.

This actually works! No flashing anymore when removed the sim card.
But when I place the sim card in again. It's starts flashing again
I placed the sim in another phone and removed the pin for the sim card, NOT THE PHONE and yes I can use the phone again.

Yes. There seems to be a bug in the PIN screen. So when you disable your PIN you can enter your phone.

You can also take out your sim from your Mi A1, boot your Mi A1, disable pin in settings, shut off, put your sim back and boot.
That's what I did with my wife's phone.

For now. When you set your device language on English you can use your PIN. Otherwise wait till fix.

I think you can also prevent your device before booting by a pattern, etc.
It's no the best I am really happy the phone can be used again.
I have to install everything again because I tried several factory resets
Dont update to November patch, in my case battery life is worse.

This method wipe all your data because u have to unlock bootloader
There are videos which don't wipe personal data when unlocking bootloader.

What firmware do you have, stock or some custom?
Do you maybe have ACC - disable/remove and try again

I have uploaded the stock and some custom does not work. Probably due to the main error.

Did you manage to solve the problem? I have the same issue. I can't downgrade to a previous firmware, because the phone has not root access. To get the root access I need to confirm my account by using internet through sim card, but I can't due to this problem.

If your phone is unlocked, you can use Miflash to downgrade
