Make Tab S2 act as USB keyboard - Galaxy Tab S2 General

oohttps://github.com/pelya/android-keyboard-gadget
It is a pretty awesome funciton where it can act as a standard USB keyboard for any device.. I have no idea where to even start. Can anyone help with creating a kernel that would make this work on the SM-T710. And some advice on how to install it.

Butchered keyboard

I have done very little research on my question. Looking at the pinouts on an XDA, and the pinouts on a mouse, would it be possible to butchera keyboard or create an adapter for a PS2 or USB keyboard to work with an MDA/XDA I??? II???? Let me know if anyone has tried.
I know someone else had butchered a mouse to work; I'm going to look for that thread now. ALSO, do you need a driver for something like that?
The developers successfully adapted an ipaq keyboard to work with xda, if you want to use a full size keyboard there is a cheap irda adaptor that allows this. Keyboards for pda's have dropped in price dramatically, check out www.ebay.co.uk and type xda or xda keyboard. There is a link for the full size keyboard adaptor in my earlier posts. Regards the driver, the special edition rom contains one that works fine for many keyboards including my genuine xda keyboard, only proble is that it activates after every reset so has to be disabled for wired gps function as it grabs com 1.
Thanks, cruisin-thru!!!

Use xda as Usb Keyboard, Possible?

Hi, did a few searches about this but couldnt find anything.
Is it possible to make the device(in my case, the Hermes) act as a keyboard for another device?
The thing is, i have a Xbox 360, and today they released a update which among other things contained msn/live messenger integration.
and to make it easier to use this, Microsoft are launching a keyboard, which you plug in the controller ,blablabla.
But they havent released it yet, so, i was thinking of using the kard-Keyboard on my device as a USB keyboard for it.
any comments?
Never heard of anyone doing an app like this.
It is possible theoretically but someone would have to write a special program that would kill AS, then take over the USB port and identify as a keyboard.
Doubt any one will bother with this since there are plenty of real USB keyboards available at any computer store (small ones too)
the tricky part would be that the program would have to change what kinda usb device the pda would say it was
sounds like some lowlvl hacks would be required
As far as I know this isn't so hard. For example WM5torage does similiar thing by emulating Mass Storage Device. Personally, I would be interested in the bluetooth keybord emulation.
This is technically possible, but somebody will have to write USB function driver for HID device class for that.
For bluetooth - dont sure, if stack will allow extension.
how hard would that be?

Do anyone knows if it is possible for our beloved U8800?
I cant be 100% sure, but keyboards and other stuff, like mouse or usb storage need usb host, and i think that our u8800 doesn't have it.

PS the topics who is not requiring development info, code - should not be in dev section
I posted it here in the hope that something can be done in the ROMS to enable this feature.

[REQ] implement USB Host APIs in KI/KJ firmware

Hello everyone,
I have nothing even close to development knowledge, so I have no idea if and how this can be done. Seeing what you guys cook together here though, I am quite sure that what I request should be possible.
As most of you will know, Samsung has removed the USB Host APIs from it's newer firmwares. No one kows why, but a lot of SGS2 owners, including me, dearly miss that feature. (I need it for chainfires DSLR controller)
I love to flash the newest firmwares, am eager to see whats new, and want the improvements they bring. So what I'm asking for, is for someone to "extract" that usb host-functionality from older firmwares and put it in a (cwm flashable ?) package that enables the funktionality for any firmware.
Since our hardware supports it natively it should only be question of software/kernel, right? Would love to see this happening... would hate to flash back to an old firmware.
Any help welcome! Would buy people bringing a solution a beer! cheers
works fine for me on KI3...? I use the usb host function often to transfer photos to a usb for work..

I don't really know how it works, but there seem to be different functioanlities. The new firmwares still are usb host enabled, which means you can still connect thumb drives, etc.. though as chainfire states here: http://www.chainfire.eu/articles/103/_SGS2_KI_Samsung_removes_USB_host_support_patches_bootloaders/ 3rd party aplications have been blocked from making use of this functionality.
no one?
...well I guess if it could be easily done chainfire would already be on it. please let me know if anything comes up!
there is a thread concerning this in the epic 4G forums. seems like they don't get usb otg at all, which is why that problem generates some more interest over there. chainfire himself contributes to their discussion. for everybody interested, let's follow what's going on over there. if they find a solution i'm sure we can apply it to the gs2.

[Troubleshooting] Nexus 6P - Latest MM - Universal USB Controller Support (NOT!)

Hello guys,
recently I've got a fully working usb otg cable and I've tried random devices on it, everything worked (like mouse and keyboard) or usb stick, except the Speedlink cheap controller I've got ... here is the question.
Does anyone knows if there are any mods tweaking it and allowing us to connect a usb controller too?
It will be nice if I could fix it because it will get me out of buying a bluetooth controller.
Have a nice day, George.
Worth the bump,
Can someone please direct me on how can I code it myself or at least discuss with me if it is possible?
It will be wise for the sake of my programming skills to get into it.
Have a nice day, George.
Bump, Im about to start the attemp of creating my own thing about this. Let me known about your useful knownledge about this thing!
EDIT:
I've already found out that it is possible to connect my controller.
