And it is so funny how g900f users ask devs to port g900h roms to their device

The phone is not exactly unpopular because a great majority of S5 users use this variant. It is the easiest variant to obtain since it is the international variant.
Majority of countries will have this variant so you can't necessarily go into a store and buy a specific variant because most places will have this variant and may not even know the difference between the variants or may not even know that the S5 has other variants.
Essentially if you ask a store owner which variants of the S5 they have they will more than likely look at you with a confused face and ask "what are you talking about?"or "what's a variant?".
But even though this variant is the most readily available and the most widely obtained and used, devs; and even Samsung, the phone's own creators, do not want to have anything to do with it for some unknown reason.
The same thing goes for other phones with international variants as well like the LG G4.
So I would really like an answer as to why this is like this.

A Request to DEVS By I9100G users

Hello and Hatss Off to all the Developers who share their Work with XDA community. I am using SGS II from sept 2011. That time, when i bought SGS II, i got GT-I9100 bt my nephew accidentally splashed water to my phone so it got malfunctioned. i gave it to service centre guys they changed the Motherboard ( charged me for it) and gave it to me in running condition bt i still use to feel sm problems with it, so i Sold it.
Now i bought a New SGS II and now this time its I9100 G. I9100 is no more available in India.
I have a habit of experimenting and flashing different ROMS on my phone but there is no development for I9100 G( except for one SuperRom ). Nd one cant use stock ROM after using Awesome Roms cooked by amazing DEVS present here ( Spl mention to Darky, CHeckrom, Speedmod Kernel, Dark Knight nd SiyahKernel).
I request The DEVS in whose country I9100G is available to please start their work on I9100G also. Its too hard to tolerate the stock Roms nd Kernels.
Spl request to GadgetCheck, He being Indian and can easily find I9100G and cook a Rom coz he is undoubtedly a master in this.
If you want a dev to work on your phone, I'd suggest you help out interested devs purchasing one... Why would they buy a new phone just to make ROMs for others? No offense!
Yeah, just because a device may be available doesn't mean that a dev is just going to go out and buy it.
Some devices are, unfortunately, so frustrating that you couldn't even get a dev to spend their time on it for free. Being OMAP-based, the G might not fit in this category - but that's why the T-Mobile T989 and AT&T Skyrocket (SGH-I727) communities are so small. As an example - even if someone offered a free Skyrocket I wouldn't touch it - I'm busy enough with the I777 and Galaxy Player as it is, that my other non-phone hobbies have suffered.
Also many developers won't do it, as a point of principle.
If you want development, buy the unbranded, EU, international model. If you cannot get one, order it on import, and just accept you have to pay customs duty etc...
Then you have the better, unclipped version (removing Exynos is crippling it).
Yes, this costs more. But it costs less than it would cost you to buy an I9100G for every developer (I presume since you were telling people to buy them, you are happy to pay for all these devices yourself?)
No Offence to the above posts but i mentioned in my previous post by making reference to those DEVS in whose countries, i9100G is available. Nd wat i forgot to mention was Those DEVS who already owe one or planning to buy one.
My bad I appologise.

I think you will find for the reasons already posted even Devs in those countries did not buy a G model and those that did can not be bothered to develop for a crippled phone .

Yes, but it's not his entitlement. It's hardly reasonable to ask a developer to do something, just because you want it, when it is at the extent of buying a new device...
Those people who ended up with a pink elephant (G model) could instead look at the differences between their device, and the regular one. They could then perhaps identify the reason why flashing the wrong rom gives a brick.
(hint, omap versus Exynos)
At that point they could look at porting the userland android core from a custom regular rom onto this device...
As long as you don't flash an I9100 kernel, and you ensure that any binaries in not going to do anything dangerous, you can probably get it running.
Maybe it will work? Maybe not... I don't know, but it's what I would do if I was in the position... The above comes unwarranted, and if it bricks your phone, you probably did something wrong. Try at your peril...
The poor guy just made a request...he didnt order or demand...especially the ones who r going all negative here...it was better for them to ignore the thread or is the prospect of insulting a random user for no reason too irresistible?? anyone who can work on G version will do so otherwise thread will go ignored...its that simple.

I have used a tonne of forums to understand how they work. The forum wouldn't exist if people didn't ask questions or post their concerns.
It's about helping people and not keeping all your new found knowledge to yourself.
If by better you mean faster, more powerful, better battery life etc then the 8 core.
If you mean which will have better support for custom ROMs and software, the usa veriant with snapdragon quad core.
If I was going ti buy one it would be the 8 core but I'm going to hold out to see what nexus 5 and note 3 bring as s4 isn't enough of an upgrade from s3 but my 1gb ram is limiting and I will defo upgrade this year.

Well that's easy. One is super awesome, and the other one is absolutely terrible. But you get the decide which is which.
On a separate but related note, as others have said, this has been discussed many many times here and has resulted in quite a few locked threads, misinformation, and mini flame wars.
That's why, here at Xda there's this little rule about searching before posting...

Sure I can be the tester. I will try a get a device to give away to a DEV if they are willing to work on a custom ROM (CyanogenMod).

This thread is rather counter productive. You have a misleading title and you've posted to the wrong forum. As the sticky note at the top of this forum proclaims "ALL Questions should go in the Q&A Section".
You'd get more views as a post commenting in the main S5 prime information thread. Or arguably find a wider audience in the Q&A section for that matter. If you really want to spur development, then buy a phone and offer it to a developer who is willing to work on a ROM or custom kernel. This is a niche, Korean market only device that most developers don't own. And how do you expect them to do any effective development if they don't have ready access to the device that they would be developing for?
You can see this with the Exynos devices. They are very much orphans, vastly outnumbered by the number of Qualcomm Galaxy phones. And as a result, few developers own the Exynos versions and little development transpires. If you can't or don't wish to sponsor a device for a developer that's perfectly understandable. But in that case one shouldn't be grumbling about the lack of development. When and if a developer buys a S5 prime and is inclined to develop for it, it will happen. When and if that happens.

Only for this reason I'll never buy Samsung phones again.
Please is Mr Masum56k what he replied is true. People here in this forum develops as much as possible for the snapdragon variant but none even bother to answer my question which been posted above. I doubt whether I posted at XDA?

Anyone out there still using galaxy S4 GT-I9500 ?

GT-i9500 is almost 4 year olds.
I and my friend were buying this phone together in 2013.
Yesterday ,my friend changed to an iphone. He said S4 was great but now no one uses a 4-year-old device anymore.
I think we can prove he was wrong. I see although we just have a little dev, but we are still a big community. And i hope if the dev see that there are many people using GT-I9500, they will keep develop for our device. :good:
So who using GT-I9500, raise your hand and if you can, tell us which rom, which kernel you are using ?
Really, we just still have 3 people using GT-I9500 ?
Please anyone ...

Stop spamming the development section because you want to prove to your friend's wet dream people are using this phone.
From what I read about it, development for that device is a pain in the butt.
If you want to use an S4, then get any of the Snapdragon variants of it.
