G900A neither 3g nor lte - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well my problem is the following:
i bought a s5 g900a, im from argentina, and i bought it second hand to a friend of mine, who bought it in usa (the frequencies of this phone are the same we use in argentina, so they're ok), the problem is i cannot get the mobile network to work, the sim works perfectly in other phones but not in this, i wonder what could i do, i tried *#*#4636#*#* change to lte, etc but wont work, the other problem is i cannot root the phone, i tried kingroot, kingoroot, towelroot, etc and none works to me, the android version is 4.4.2 plz give me a hand!!

Hey man just connect it to samsung kies and then just update it to 5.0 which is the latest version for the s5 in south America,
Other thing is just flash a custom recovery ans them proceed to install cm13 i get 2 days with full usage on that rom.
Si deseas mandame un privado y te ayudo en español.
Saludos.

Recover LTE after Brazil firmware

Hi people,
this is my first post here
i'm from Mexico and my Razr HD is from Telcel
after flash the Retail Brasilian Firmware I lost my 4G LTE because the firmware has a diferent modem from Brasil LTE
for the people who lost LTE after flashing (like me) I have the solution
I just took the firmware from Rogers Canada and extract the modem_signed file and with this modem I have again my LTE from Telcel
I attached the bat file and fastboot files if somebody need it
i didn't attached the modem_signed file because my internet is very slow but you can download it from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943879\\
you just put the modem_signed file in the same folder with the files attached and run the bat file, your phone need to be in fastboot mode

well, with the brazil firmware you will no have any app of Telcel and the performance I feel it a little bit faster but not much, the only thing that will not chance is the Messages icon because its stored in the sim card, if turn on your phone without your sim card you will see the original Message icon (blue) then if you insert your sim card the screen will be flash a little bit and the Message icon will turn orange with white

Ahh ok. Well I've read that removing all telcel's stuff was a huge improvement on the speed/battery life.
Maybe I will try this on the weekend.
Gracias!
Just to let you know, this does not work on CM10. It makes the modem unstable, and can't connect to LTE.
Anyway, thank you for your help.
hey
we can also flash the rogers firm full, just download from firmwares thread and open the firm file with winrar, choose the xml file and edit with notepad, erase the following lines
<step var="max-download-size" operation="getvar"/>

Well... if i destroy my S4 for any reason, i would like to have the original rom... the only think i remember about that rom is the name... i9500UBUAMDK, seeing the sammobile website, already exist about 6 roms called I9500UBUAMDK (all LATAM)... In Chile does not sell i9500 model, i buy it at www.mercadolibre.cl
How can i know what rom use in my phone?
THANKS!!
If you are asking about the version that is on your (new) phone. Go to settings / more / about device
You will also see your model number. Just filter your model number and you can download the appropriate official firmware.

If your S4 is factory unlocked, you can flash any Stock ROMs that are not carrier locked from sammobile.com, here's the tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477&page=4

SGH I337M

Good morning guys, I have just bought a second-handed Samsung Galaxy S4 Today, and as I always do, I wanted to see the development for it, the problem is the model, there is almost nothing here about it (SHG I337M). I have never owned a Samsung smartphone so I ask someone here for help about it. You could tell me about KNOX, root, Custom ROMS, and stuff like that.:highfive:
Thanks for your attention, have a nice day!:good:
You can lock the phone down using KNOX. Or you can limit what apps one can access if the phone is in KNOX mode. So basically it is just some security stuff from Samsung. KNOX also has some warranty usage, but since the phone is second hand it's pointless.
So you can throw KNOX out the window.
The SGH-I337 is the AT&T version of the GT-I9505 model. So it's just a rebranded phone.
Unfortunately, AT&T like to lock the phone's bootloaders, making rooting and flashing custom recoveries a lot harder.
Not all hope is lost, though. You can still root and/or flash a custom recovery and rom, but it all depends on your firmware version.
You should definitely check your firmware version and then see if there are any ways to root it and flash a custom recovery. Then we talk custom roms.
If the phone is indeed an i337m (the att version does not have the "m" at the end), you are lucky because the bootloader is not locked and you are free to install twrp and customs ROMs based on cm, aosp, and tw.
You might want to check out the att forums for the s4 for ROMs too.

Thanks for your fast reply! As I saw down here, my phone can't be the at&t version because of the "m" and because it comes from the mexican carrier TELCEL. Respect to the firmware to be able to proceed with the root, recovery and that stuff... My S4's firmware could be here (I'm not sure about which of these data is)

The firmware doesn't matter anymore if it is an I337M.
The I337M is a Canadian model.
Now you can root your phone and install a custom recovery
Or
Install a custom recovery first and then flash a custom rom.
I suggest not trying a rom for the s4 with a exynos processor. I have read stories about owners of the Samsung s3 that hard bricked their phone by flashing a non-Qualcomm rom.

The i9505 has a Qualcomm so it should be okay.

Yes, me too. If you want root on the stock ROM you need to flash this package through Odin, if not, you will need twrp for a custom ROM. It has the Qualcomm chip so don't worry

Samsung Pay not working (region locked?)

I recently bought an S10+ dual SIM model on Amazon and brought it back to South Africa.
I am now having problems getting Samsung Pay to work. Does someone know how Samsung Pay does a region check?
It says "Samsung Pay is Almost Here"
"You'll receive a notification when Samsung Pay becomes available on your phone"
Samsung Pay is available in South Africa and working on my Watch and on my Note 8 that I bought locally.
My CSC seems to be correct (as can be seen in the attached screenshots)
Any ideas?
I managed to get it working on my imported S10+
I had to get the apks from my local Note 8 on which spay was working fine, and then simply copied them over and installed them on my s10+.
Both the spay and the spayfw (samsung pay framework) apk needs to be installed.
Note that my csc already seemed to be correct, so that also needs to match I assume.
pay nao funciona

Lenovo Z6 Pro L78051 4g connection problems

Hi.
Sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language.
Ask for their help to know more about the 3G and 4G connection bands.
Buy a lenovo z6 pro, the 8gb / 128gb version, bring the bands B1, B3, B5 and B7. In my country (Mexico) the operators use the B2 and B4, but in some regions they are testing the B7. I decided to buy it because where I live my Xiaomi connects to the B7 but now that I have the Lenovo it seems as if it could only connect to the 3G. An operator (At & t) also uses the B5 for 4G but does not connect to it, only 3G.
There have also been many problems with the roms of the Lenovo team since they sell a version as global but it is not, it is only a hybrid version with deleted Chinese applications. Therefore it follows that there is no global version. I don't know if these problems have to do with connections.
Annex two images where I show the Xiaomi that connects to the B7 and what an application of the Lenovo tells me.

Hello
I have very similar problem in fact the same I believe
When I start or recieve a call my current 4G full signal strength connection drops immediately 3G and the signal strenght become very poor. On the other hand while surfing on the internet there is no quality drop.
I have run a diagnistic test to my sim card and I get an error. I hope you have any information about it.
I am currently using 11.0.325 ST Global ROW. But on official stock rom the situation was the same.
It seem you have the Volte option not activated.
Check in your setting or maybe not activated by your operator ( turkcell by your mcc)
But i cant read turkey , i let you check that.
It's not a band issu, because you have 4g before call.

I've got the same problem in Russia. If the 4g is strong enough, then, the incoming call is OK. If the 4g signal is poor, or there is 3G or 2G signal, then when I answer phone the other side does not hear me, because my phone's microphone doesn't work. The problem is in the proximity sensor. To solve the problem you need to use to install Truephone app, and switch off the pre-installed google phone. Truephone does not switch off the screen. Another solution is to install 575 CN firmware.
Hi. Do you have the VoLTE function active? You can see it with the menu on call (*#*#4636#*#*). What ROM are they using?
I am from Mexico and in the network provider I am only receiving H+ (It is 3G but faster). My problem is about the bands. Because if my previous cell phone connected to the
Band 7 in 4G, this does not.
And I haven't had the problems they mention. If I have little signal, the call fails me; but if I am with 3 or more signal intent stripes, it works perfectly. I have the ROM 11.0.325 ST

Try to use Signal Network Guru app. There is an option to activate\deactuvate the bands manually.

Hello everyone.
I bought a chip that uses band 2 for 4G and I bring 2 chips. Since I have one of them when it warms up, an x begins to appear in the signal and does not recover until I get into airplane mode or restart it. But the strangest thing is that when I play and the cell warms up, they both start to fail, as well as Wi-Fi, they turn off and turn on, until it appears to me in the bar as if I didn't have a SIM and the Wi-Fi also turns off. when I had a chip that never happened to me.
Do you have any idea why it is? And why when the cell phone heats up does that happen or will it be the other SIM Does anyone else happen to this?

I've got the same problem in Russia. If the 4g is strong enough, then, the incoming call is OK. If the 4g signal is poor, or there is 3G or 2G signal, then when I answer phone the other side does not hear me, because my phone's microphone doesn't work. The problem is in the proximity sensor. To solve the problem you need to use to install Truephone app, and switch off the pre-installed google phone. Truephone does not switch off the screen. Another solution is to install 575 CN firmware.

I applied your solution it helped thank you. But it is not fully solved. I tried all roms ( official, Zaza version, global version) but the problem always exist. Can we fix this sensor or the problem is about the antenna?

Yes, we (4PDA Russian community) are close to solve it. We found that the problem is in EFS partition. That partition contains the info about all kinds of phone's networks and IMEI also, and we have an opinion that only 575 CN firmware is totally ok for the sensors and antennas. So it is a great idea, but it has not been tested yet. For the first you need to install 575 CN via QFIL, 2nd - to install TWRP, 3rd - to backup the EFS partition via TWRP. To save that backup on SD-card. Then install the global firmware (the latest 375, for example)? TWRP again to restore the EFS from backup. It has not been tested yet.
