CM13 on Elephone P9000 - Elephone P9000 Guides, News, & Discussion

So i've been scrolling facebook and Elephone has released a video of hands-on CM13 on P9000. What are your thoughts on this?
Video link here if you want to check it out on:
Facebook
Youtube

Yes, yes, yes, can't wait.

YES!!!
I can wait!!!
I can wait ... a release with no bugs ... I wait!

wowowowow so happy they are going trough with this!
The custom ROMs available right now do their job just fine, but I would love to have the cm13 (and CM-based roms) experience on this beautiful device!
I hope we'll get a few running aphas to play around with soon c:

I cant wait to port CM13 on my Elephone P9000. I love the phone everyday. thanks to all the developers. Presently on AEROM V3.

Does that mean, that we might even be able to get Android N without being dependent on elephone?

Possibly, it depends how much Elephone release in terms of source code. Also on whether we can get device/vendor trees up and running. I'm planning to look more into this next week when my schedule starts to clear up a bit.

They will probably update it to Android N themselves once it releases. I mean they did updated (most of) recent ele devices to 6.0 when it got released, so why not to 7.0?

Good news indeed. Hope it makes the phone even better!

Elephone posted yesterday at fb:
In 2016, ‪#‎Elephone‬ not only focus on developing exquisive phones, but also plans on various firmware development.
Elephone released a P9000CM13 video not too long ago, more functions are added in the firmware to facilitate the daily use.
Right now Elephone is working hard on ‪#‎CM13‬ development . It’s understood that Russian developers totally solved the one of the most difficult existing problems-- network problem.
Looking forward to the release of ‪#‎P9000CM13‬.

Devs of elephone makes cm13 rom but didnt even release the sources and when a new phone is released they will abandon the rom without releasing the sources.

CM 13.1 will probably be released this month according to Deepflex (Developer of Aerom ROM and Mod in the official elephone.hk forum)

Cm 13 for Elephone p9000 is release.

Are you going to update this thread? Or suggest Twitter or the op3 forums?
Whoa... That was Blazing fast.
woww .. Damn fast !!!!
Great work, I always wait on development before buying a phone. This phone is looking s lot better already....
Now can someone put up a YouTube video on how CM13 works on the OP3 so far...
This is so ... unbelievable that it is even available before I got the device in my hands. Great job @garak and thanks to OnePlus for giving us the sources so quick this time.

i m not a oneplus 3 user but i salute u....u r really fast. Thanks @Grarak
Seems OnePlus realized they were being dumb not releasing the sources (what a pain in the ass OPT development, in fact, I switched to 5X just for that reason).

An invitation to developers

This is an invitation to all developers, compilers and testers of Moto X (2014).
We know that probably our device will not receive officially Nougat update and this is really bad, assuming that our strong Snapdragon 801 can smoothly run without any problems.
My suggestion it's to all developers and compilers from any country work together to sync AOSP from Nougat, adapt device tree and bring up our first AOSP 7.0 rom.
I know that CyanogenMod is working on CM14 for victara... But the idea is bring up pure Android. I never see any pure AOSP rom for our device and would be awesome if we have this now. CM14 maybe will delay a bit and I think that all users here want to feel Nougat experience
Some rumours at internet had saying that Snapdragon 800/801 will not have drivers for Nougat... But I know that this is possible because Nexus 5 had Snap 800 and developers already bring an functional AOSP (link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/orig-development/wip-aosp-nougat-nexus-5-t3446875 ). Our developers can check device tree from Nexus 5... See their adaptions in device tree for working Nougat and try to do the same for our Moto X. Maybe disabling Vulkan API for now and we can use same drivers and device tree of Marshmallow!
That's all guys, thanks for reading and we are really expecting an AOSP Nougat for our Moto X before CM14!
The One Plus One (Snapdragon 801) has AOSP Nougat build. Among other devices. The Moto X (2014) is a smaller development community. I was not even expecting CM to build CM14 for this device (see below). It's going to take time
We haven't yet got a Snapshot build (stable release) of Cm13. Small steps.

I agree, we have small team of developers. And this one more objective of this post: attract more developers.
I think that Moto X doens't have too much developers because we had officially updates since Android 4.4... Numbers of people that goes to custom ROMs is really minimal, because the stock of Motorola doens't give reasons to search custom ROMs (like bloatwares or lags).
But now, we are going to road of needing custom ROMs. Now we have more reasons to search for these ROMs, because we'll probably not receive Nougat. Moto X2 XDA Forum go clog of peoples trying to got Nougat.
I hope for a "pure" aosp too, like the "fake rom" for Nexus 4.

Dan(Invisiblek) is working on CM14 for Victara. http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/project:CyanogenMod/android_device_motorola_victara+branch:cm-14.0
and our CM13 Nighly builds is very close to a Snapshot build NO BUGS for me xt1092 very stable as Snapshot build.
Yes it's true . I have been using the nightly builds of CM 13 for Victara and it runs really smoothly. I would encourage developers to work on the Nougat ROM for Victara. We will appreciate it. Thanks
I really hope to see Nougat in this phone, sadly I have no knowledge to help in development, but for sure I will test as it become usable material (its my daily phone, so would be nice that alarm at least works as expected)
We already has an bootable CM14 guys! here's link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68555035&postcount=100

It's the old story of lack of kernel source. Historically kernel sources have been released about 3/4 months after global rom availability, which happened a few days ago.
It doesn't help that availability all round has been limited for these. With so many people wanting the global edition and there being shortages of that model there's just not that many of these around at the moment in the hands of people that want to mod it. MIUI is very popular in China.
I'm hoping another 3-6 months we'll start to see some serious progress.
Luckily it's in the same device tree as a few other recent releases so there's some level of cross compatibility, lithium (Mi Mix) for example would require only minor modification to work and there seems to be more dev interest in that,
I did consider making a cooked MIUI rom for the Mi Note 2 (inc. xposed, root, a few tweaks here and there) but there didn't seem to be much demand and realistically if you want those features you already get them yourself without any real struggle.
I'm an old dev for CyanogenMod on Xperia.
I will try to put Lineage OS when the source of the kernel will be available.
A port can be possible with the source of the One Plus 3t (i supposed) but is better to wait official release of the kernel.

These Lineage builds are by HondaJohn88 who I'm working with.
I've been bugging him to post them himself (when he does I'll get the old thread locked) but he hasn't yet.
Be aware that not every build he uploads is one that he's planning on sharing (or even an improvement over the last) - occasionally things break and some are more for archiving than actual use.
He shares his work in the Mi Note 2 Telegram group so I'd recommend joining so you can find out which build would be the most worthwhile.

Is that for Hermes or Scorpio? and where is the URL ?
Also I lost the IMEI (still have the number on a sticker) and so far failing miserably to restore it.

le max 2 update in future?

Will there be updates for le max 2 in future? I know there is lineage os but it stuck inlineage OS 13 because LeEco does not release Nougat. Do you think le max 2 will get updates in future? Or will at least Nougat be the last, if it will be release at all.
I'm hoping for Nougat and think there is a good chance it will be released soon. (LeEco seems to be saying there will be an OTA within the next 30 days, but it's not clear that it's Nougat nor that it will include Le Max 2.)
I doubt we will get Android O officially, but it sounds like the changes for O will be smaller so I'm crossing my fingers that the Devs will be able to do their magic without official O.

sorry i am new here
I hope max 2 will be supported long time but because i am no dev i do not know how difficult it is to make updates without official releases. Can someone tell me it it is possible?

Are there devs who can say more if max 2 can get updates without official leeco update releases?

there are already nougat roms out. some things may need an official release to work proper.

But no Chance without official update?
Has someone an answer?
On lemax2 in Nougat camera is big problem (in doesnot work at all).
On le2 and lepro3 it work, but it buggy and not fully working.
RU leeco also say that update will be in april, but they does not say what was it: minor eui update or nougat. So need to wait...
I would be disappointed if this phone did not get official Nougat support. To be honest I think it should get Android O as well. It's a fairly new and powerful phone, no reason for it not to get it.

Noob question - Can i expect LineageOS to be mantained officially to get OTA-Updates?

Hi!
I am pretty close to get a Mi Note 2, but i cant stand MIUI and like CyanogenMod and Lineage. Right now i have a Mi4, which is super supported by XDA and custom ROMs in general, and i get official LOS via OTA update.
As far as i see, there are "only" unofficial builds here, and so i could not get OTA updates plus the added feeling of being future proof by offical support. Am i right with this?
I see Ressurection Remix is officially supported, so this may also be an option, but what do you think, can i expect the Note 2 to be supported by LOS officially too in the future? Are there some devs here working on that?
I am pretty stunned, that there is not much more going on here.. And i dont have the money for Mi Mix..
So what do you think on these issues?
Thank you in advance!
