Sony Xperia E4 [CUSTOM ROM PORTING] - Sony Xperia E4 Questions & Answers

Hey, I've got a question.
I own Sony Xperia E4 and I am looking for some custom ROMs. I got an idea of porting a custom ROM to my device, but I've never done this before. I've found a tutorial on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008
But I am kinda scared to do it. It describes how to port custom ROM for MT6582 to a MT6582 device, but I am not sure if it would work also with my Xperia E4 which has MT6582.
Question:
Will this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-temasek-s-unofficial-cyanogenmod-12-t3321146 with this PORTing tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008 work with Sony Xperia E4?
Cheers

Porting ROMs onto our device will be possible only after we have developed a recovery - which is proving difficult due to sony restrictions on the device.

so did you figure out how to? and can you?

maybe we can use xperia E5 rom,to port on E4....just a suggestion, because chipset seems simmilar....

Me too have xperia e4 I've rooted it with 360 root and i wanna knw wheather i can port the rom of android one phone coz, the specs and chipset are same but it's display only 4.5" but mine is 5" . Is ther any problem in porting the rom if there is difference in screen size?

How can i install android lollipop to my xperia e4?

Krabappel is totally back!!! I need suggestions for making a rom

Hello guys
Probably most of you still know me from Ice Cream Sandwich rom, but now I'm back to bring a new rom here
I have the Neo of a friend of mine now so I can make a new rom if anyone is interested???
The rom will be for Neo and Neo V, Arc, Arc S, Pro
I just want to know what you guys need in my rom?
CM10 isn't fully ready for daily use, so I'll base my rom on latest stock firmware for now.
I assume you guys are so I already did some research here today
Still have a lot to do though since I've been away from 2011 line for a while now.
Let me know what you guys think!!

[THINK TANK] porting xperia u rom to xperia play

hi all
im starting a new project an probably the hardest one so i need help of some of the other developers.
for now im downloading the xperia u system dump(thanks to @pipi14 for his xperia u ftf file in here)
this project may not be completed because its very hard for me but i like learning so im going to start it.
and another thing
im using stock ics as my base for porting because i think its easier to port it using stock roms as base
any helps are appreciated for this project
what i have done:
1- files are downloaded now.
2-system dump is extracted
3-debloating the rom now (because it is more than our system partition)
4-system files are about 550mg without touching them. if they be higher than 310mg even after debloating i will need someone for remapping lupus kernel
4-after making some of the things ready for port i saw that its 410mg (its not 380mg)
5-vengeance kernel didnt work i need some help for 400mg kernel now :crying: because im very noob in kernels :crying:
yes finally entered recovery in vengeance kernel
flashing the rom now
it is really hard for me to wait more
update:
flashed the first build
waiting to see if it boots or not
update2:
i made a logcat and i think i found 1 of the problems
testing my idea now
update3:
flashing now
Keep up the good work...trial and error is part of the thrill of working on roms.
What is vengeance kernel and is it a new xperia play kernel?
Sent from my R800at using xda premium
its a neo l kernel but because neo l is very similar to play so i can use neo l kernel for only getting this rom boot
but im having too many kernel related problems (i dont know why but i cant pass the kernel bootlogo some times) and because of my exams i cant test things for now

@extremetempz
can you remap partitions of lupus gb/ics kernel like other xperia 2011 devices kernels when you have time ?
i really need it for porting xperia arc roms +this project

X - reality & Vivid for CM12 & 12.1

Still wondering why X reality and Vivid have not been ported to our beloved Xperia sp for cm12 and 12.1 based ROMs.. LOL
So the billion dollar question... Is it possible to port X reality and vivid to lollipop based ROMs on SP????
By the way.. talking about the music Illumination ... i think this feature is soon going to be ported to custom ROMs as fully functional all 3 LED notification have been ported successfully to the CM12 and based ROMs for our Xperia SP.... lets hope for the best... :fingers-crossed:
No. It is impossible
but yeah u can make the pictures vivid
Just want to quickly say this... If you're posting a question at least put a [Q] at the title to avoid confusion.
Secondly yes, it is impossible to port X reality and BE2 and such to custom ROMs. And about the music illuminations, check out the Discolight Lollipop app... It works like a charm.

Best suitable Rom to be flashed

Guys can u share the best rom for mt6572 kk4.4.2 out there? I want to give a new look to my phone. please guide me to do it. my phone is rooted. phone: Inew cxq u1. Recently I have flashed my phone via sp tools with stock rom. And this time I want to flash with custom rom. please guide me to install recovery and porting by pc/phone.
Sorry, it's a question impossible to answer. It's also a wrong kind of question in this forum. No decent Android user will answer that. My recommendation is to try different Roms and drink Ron Zacappa.

Search on needrom website
I cant tell you how to get the best rom but you can search on needrom website. Go to your phone's section. There would be many rom, so read about their features and search for the one with highest rating.(Generally the latest ones).
I am new to the smartphone world....and i recently rooted a Sony xperia e5 f3311...no problem...i have searched wide for a custom rom, that has been tested on this device...are there people with flashed custom rom on this device.....if i wanted to risk flashing a random custom rom...which one would be most safe....very few info about this phone...maybe cause it's reletavely new..
Any nougat or other custom rom for 4.4.2 android based smartphone with 1 gb ram + rooted .......intex aqua dream?

Have a custom rom or android 8.0 for sony xa1 ultra please send me plzplz PLZ PLZ PLZ

:fingers-crossed:
Hii
For now there is NO ROM for the device...
And if you look on google
And If you look on xda
Every Xperia X Series model has no support for custom rom
The best one is xperia X performance model becouse it has like 4-5 custom roms
The other phones of the X series only have some of stock modified kernel's
So, another thing is
The Xperia XA Ultra model from 2016 ( Last year old model )
Has after more then one year not even one custom rom
Wich means that if we get even stock kernel it will be amazing
I do not think there will be custom rom for our model
The best would be modified stock roms and kernels..
But, the good thing is we will get Oreo.. with the new things it brings
But it still will be looking like the same as now Nougat look like and will
have some nice new features like picture in picture mode and other stuff..
So, I hope I have answer you question to get a custom rom from anyone here..
Next time
Do your homework
before even buying some phone and then
wanting all the custom roms and root and bla bla bla
Google is a good thing you know
