Here's how to stop supersu from auto updating... - Onetouch Idol 3 General

6045 marshmallow users have only one specific version of supersu that is working correctly right now. If you update it may appear to work but after a few reboots you will begin to get apps reporting superuser issues....to skip this altogether go into google play...don't disable auto update globally but instead go to the supersu app specifically and click on it's 3 dot menu...this will show you an "auto update" checkbox you can uncheck to stop just that one app from updating....other apps will continue as normal.
Hope it helps.

Well it seems that in the end you're convinced that you had only one right way to keep your root and not upgrade.

Yes and no...today I flashed 2.74-2 beta supersu which is the latest and so far *knock on wood* everything is working but I'm prepared to go back if it messes up.

Let us know how thing goes.

Security Message on 4.3 MJ7

Hi! Last week I flashed the Italian MJ7 4.3 FW and since then i reinstalled all the apps that I used to have. However since yesterday I'm getting this annoying alert every time I connect the phone to wifi or 3g. Seems like there's an app that tries to "access system" (??)
The funny thing is that if I tap on View Apps, it just takes me to the list of apps that I've installed but it doesn't tell me which app is causing this alert to pop up! Can someone help me?

So basically Samsung is working on a fix, and the only way to solve it right now is with a factory reset -.-

You do not need to worry. Everything is fine. Look for the label applications for Knox and follow the installation instructions. It is necessary to remember the password. Working in KNOX is outstanding but is protected against all unknown applications. data are unavailable for other people who do not know the password.

I'm getting the same thing myself. Only started happening last night. I un-installed Knox to see if that would solve the problem but still no luck. This is only happening when I connect to any WiFi network , mobile network is fine.
So I did a factory reset and at the beginning it continued to appear but from the 3rd time I connected to my WiFi it stopped popping out, don't know why... (??)

For me it doesn't pop up 2 days already. But one day it popped up like every 5 minutes. Maybe because I was on a public network at the UNI and these 2 days I am at home.
I found a little fix for this (read it on a website somewhere, couldn't remember which one): Go to Settings > More > Applications > All > Knox Notification Manager > Clear data. That's it. Haven't experienced a single pop-up yet.

I installed a custom rom based on stock TW 4.3 MJ5, works like a charm.
No security messages from KNOX because he removed it in his rom.

Translation? Google says something like: good news at the beginning of the new year: keep an eye on lollipop for mate.
Nothing about end of January?!
End of January only in Polonia ?

In the commentary, someone asked whether the update will be in January? and Huawei Poland said yes.
I hope

Right... No Hurry....
The way it is right now on my other devices, I hope Huawei takes his time and makes it for it properly.
I have Lollipop on my Nexus 5 but I dont like it too much. It has trouble in the duration of the battery and there are several features that are not going as expected. I wanted to go back to 4.4. but you can not!
Once installed, you can't return easily.
I recommend patience and see how this Huawei version works!

Sorry for offtopic but nexus is the easiest device to go back to 4.4.4!! Just download the factory image from Google and install via ADB. Yes it will wipe your device, but its possible. Try to downgrade a Samsung phone...
Ontopic: i tried to find the facebook posts from huawei where they say "its coming (soon ™)". I cant find them!
Sorry but there wont be a lollipop Rom from huawei in the next weeks... CM or slimrom would be nice.
Is this for real?

[Q] No OTA Software Update Option (Stuck on version 4.2.2)

Hello,
So, I've just received my Dad's Nexus 7 (2013) that he replaced with an iPad. I factory reset it, and when I went to look for any software updates there was no option in the About Tablet menu (see screenshot). I understand that OTA updates have gone out for 4.3, 4.4, and 5.0. I'd like to avoid flashing or forcing any updates. Why is there no update option available to me? I'm stumped, please help!
Thanks!

It's really weird. Well, first of all this is a N7 2012 forum
But it seems like you're either running a custom ROM with an Asus theme (which I don't think) or running an Asus-branded firmware. Try asking in the N7 2013 forums

New update 2.20.40.156 (551ML)

New update for our zenfone 2...
Have rooted my zenfone 2 with method 3 and have updated without unroot. No problem with the update. Root remain...
Still 5.0. Looks like December's security update.
can someone please post the zip? Mine got eerror in updating and cannot check update via FOAT since.
Thanks.
550 ota also now available.
---------- Post added at 07:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:03 AM ----------
But I have custom recovery, so need to flash a stock recovery. Will .88 work? Nothing later in the resources thread.
waiting for a zip too, error during OTA..
If you guys have root and you've downloaded ota thru system update the file can be found in the /cache folder. It's called dlpkg. Transfer it to internal or external card and rename it as zip extension.
Post the zip for 551 please

Be careful, the V2.20.40.150 is for CN SKU only most phones have the MM build, not CN.
Update successfully installed (even if no "Game Center" found) but what does it mean "Extend the shutdown mimunes by power key press"? Thanks.

Same here - updated on rooted 550, no problem so far. Can't see anything much different - it has the December google security patch, and there is one extra wallpaper (a turquoise/light blue one that looks a bit like Sony Xperia wallpaper). Don't see any game center or added options on the power off menu.
What the hell! Paid themes? For the phone that we already bought? And cannot use 3rd party themes? Seriously this is sh*t. What next? Need to pay to update to marshmallow?

Damn, I just finished the download right now and it says "Server temporarely not available, try again later" if you keep the modified WiFi connection, but if you revert back it says that it can't be validated and deletes it :crying::crying:
So close yet so far!

Download is working but verification is going wrong because the verification server is unreachable. Looks like we have to wait a little longer...
Same here, downloaded then failed to verify.. Hope someone finds a solution soon.. We need this update badly, specially the notification changes pay off it..
Note: I'm running the DNS, and I never asked for it to be made public to users of the non-Chinese version. There are issues still yet to be worked out, and just because the update appears doesn't mean it will install. I hope that OP will remove the DNS information so as to not lead people to failure, and wait for an official announcement for me about services I'm providing.
To be clear, I asked the OP to pull the information because it doesn't work! With that said, if anyone tries using my DNS and goes to eRecovery, I've had one person try and it was a failure, but you might be successful.

No problem. Were you successful with this method? Did the update install? I think it's important to make sure it works well before posting publicly, just to avoid problems.
No, not work finally.
Seeing the download getting started made me think it was ok.

OTA involves a final check with encrypted information to Huawei's server before install. eRecovery doesn't involve this check. But from what I have learned, they both fail. I only have a Chinese model to test on, but it fails on the Chinese model too. There is one build of European firmware which does not fail, but it's older than the one everyone wants to install (B115). When I have more information, I will make a post.
