I am on 6.6.16 MIUI 8 beta rom since 2days and the rom is almost perfect
there arent any memory management issues, will have to see how dev rom performs
why its still on android 5.1.1 ?

there's a mere 1-2min gap, when i started creating a thread there no such thing here for MIUI 8 dev rom
when some mod gets here, he will trash the repetitive ones

But i prefer to flash the fastboot rom initially [Bootloader will still be unlocked]
and flash TWRP later

What are you trying to say from those two images?
You were saying there's a thread posted 30min before my thread? where's that thread you were talking about?
When you start creating a new thread it takes a minute or two to insert images n links and no one keeps checking the forum in that 1 min time gap that someone else posted similar thread

wow that was disappointing, I was hoping for Xiaomi to make a marshmallow update for MIUI8, if they are sticking with lolipop im not even interested.
Mi Max have the exact same SoC and have marshmallow, ffs xiaomi we dont care about MIUI updates if the OS itself dosent update.
Installed through twrp alka recovery. Not working.
Booted successfully but screen keep blinking.only power button works.Reverted back to xiaomi.eu stable rom

I am on global 7.3.5 now. I havent installed twrp or unlocked my bootloder. And i dont want to do those. How can i upgrade to this rom? Can i download the recovery file and update through updator app? And how will i get playstore on this rom? (Bcz i wont install twrp) ?

How to install the rom
kmokhtar79's Installation instructions here.
Verify MD5 checksum (in filename)
Download latest PhilZ N7000 TW kernel, doesn't matter which base
Flash it through recovery
Reboot to recovery again
Go to "Backup and Restore / Misc Nandroid Settings / Preload Partition" and set it to Include
Backup your current Rom
Then go to "Wipe Data/Factory and Reset / Wipe Data-Cache-System-Preload"
Then choose -Yes, I will install a new ROM!
Return to main page, go to advance option and wipe davlik
Return to main page under Mount and storage, format system, format data, format preload (i know it's just might be repetitive but it's better to prepare for clean install)
Flash ROM zip

In "how to flash the rom" section 12 doesn't require as v8 is packed with Philz Kernel. That section was firstly added as earlier versions were packed with c.o.h kernel which required that settings. Thanks

V8 got ~2700 downloads counts only from one hosting server (mega doesn't show download counts) almost same as previous versions in less than 2 weeks, but if you read several last pages of thread all you see are negative points and "not working" tags and I realized there is no balance for me to keep it open and pursue development spending my precious time and receiving bad feedback. You can drop your themes here I am sure there are a lot to just download and use your themes.

Balance: this is the best description for what is missing in most Rom development threads after a while.

So far aryamod v8 is the best.fast and stable. Last week tried cm based, but come back to aryamod due to stability.
Hope we got theme to play around..

heh, i broke the sim card tray out of mine, and then the gyro broke so no auto rotation so mines happily on V6 (for now) as a bluetooth media player in my car.
being given my dads old one (he has a note 3 now) that will jump straight to V8 and be re-gifted, and was horrified at the thought of it on stock. arya was just so much better than the stock roms in speed and reliability.

By saying in stock, V8 was referring to stock "look". In terms of performance, it can't even be compared to stock. I personally welcome it as stock look does give a nostalgic feel that make a Note, Note. But of course that doesn't apply to those just recently start rom flashing

You can find it in my signature, I have uploaded to Mega and it has 2 fixes; removed lockscreen preferences as it caused issue in landscape and replaced proper walkman with working visualizer. After flashing this version update binary as normal update. Dear ThaiDai! feel free adding it to OP.

Its official leak !!! they uploaded the wrong link of 6.0 base instead of 5.1.1 base !! it was not noticed for a specific time so i got the link at that time !!!! now they rollbacked to 5.1.1

The ota was not the right one. Some people received it and got Problems (FP and so on), because Rom is for Kate.

Its true and is working 100% but don't forget to erase all including internal storage !!!
It's not for Kate. It's for Kenzo! I ported an older Kate Release for Kenzo and I know it. For sure it's for Kenzo!!! Kate system partition is bigger than Kenzo partition and if it is for Kate, it isn't able to boot. It's for Kenzo FOR SURE and has some users in MIUI Forum that flashed FASTBOOT ROM wiping ALL including Internal Storage that get this FULLY WORKING!

Its a fully working ROM just based on h2os for optimization and bugs fixing what's not working is quoted in OP version soon..its just beta with all things working ..

Kind of, there's a bit more.. The H2os base is just to make it boot and run on our phone, the rest is MIUI.. Even Cyanogen uses a similar formula, each device has its core base and "Cyanogen" put on top..

Hey folks! So as we guys know that the development in our Redmi Note 4 aka mido is at peak. We have many ROMs and Kernels. Many peeps like me are quite addictive for flashing new stuffs like ROMs, Kernels and mods. You know what, people like us are known as "Flashaholics" xD. Yes you heard right! This thread is inspired by @Setting.Out's [email protected]@holic help thread for OnePlus One.
So, what we gonna do here in this thread? Basically we all will be talking about the things we flash and use to make our Redmi Note 4 great! We can share these stuffs here:-

Well, if you are a flashaholic then you must have the knowledge of properly flashing a ROM or any zip file into your device. If you are new to these stuffs then do not worry, I will tell you how to properly flash a ROM or any other thing in your android. But yeah! Always remember that you are going to do all these things at your own risk.
ROM (Clean installation)
Mostly we all use TWRP recovery, so I will be taking the reference of TWRP recovery. If you are using some other recovery then don't worry everything is same you just have to find those options on your own xD.
Boot into TWRP recovery
Go to Wipe
Do a factory reset by swiping the button
Go to Advance
Check system, data and cache
Swipe the button to wipe
Go back to homescreen of TWRP
Choose Install and select zip of your ROM and swipe
Choose zip of Gapps and swipe
Now hit Reboot and woilla!
ROM(Dirt flash)
Boot into TWRP recovery
Choose Install and select zip of your ROM and swipe
Wipe Cache/Dalvik cache
Now hit Reboot and woilla!
Mods/Kernels/Apps
Boot into TWRP recovery
Choose Install and select zip of your Kernel/Mod/App and swipe
Wipe Cache/Dalvik cache (This step is optional in some cases like when flashing a new kernel. Do check the thread of the zip before flashing)
Now hit Reboot and woilla!

Hai.. my query is not related to this thread...
I'm having a doubt that is it possible to root using magisk and revert back to stock recovery... If yes is it be possible to install system updates using updater app... Because magisk is systemless and I read some where(not miui forums) that magisk can stand OTA updates.
Please reply.. I asked a few members in WhatsApp and telegram groups some say it is possible and some say no..

Hi Fellow Members,
Seeing many post on the development threads in all section which are not completely relevant with the development but sometime due to normal bootloader unlock, FRP unlock, root issues, even normal discussion on OTA etc which flood the development thread sometimes and if a new users come up with any issue or any question, they need to repost as the thread is long and extending multiple pages and they could not find the solution or answer of the same in all those pages, even though answered few times but due to more number of pages or just because new users are not aware of how search works on XDA they repost the same thing.
So, I though of creating this new thread so that we can discuss all development related and little off topics related with ROM in this thread and keep the development thread clean enough so that it is purely for development related questions and really critical and important stuffs with sufficient logs etc.
Please continue discussion on any ROM, recovery, TWRP etc in this thread and lets keep the development thread clean enough.

Am not that used to ROM and Flashing stuff as you geek discuss here. But i need a favour. I've unlock my bootloader and flash trwp but later see update on my phone. am using Honor 5X L24. Please, what's the best tutorial to follow to return it to Stock and unroot so I can download the update?

So, you need to check the repository thread for 5X and find stock recovery.
Flash it in adb.
Reboot and update. You will be good :good:

Thanks. I understand it now... What if i want to install a custom ROM. Can i now go ahead and flash a fresh ROM or i have to first go back to Stock Rom, Update and flash the custom ROM... Thanks

Yes... This my stock ROM has bad RAM usage.. i cant run many app simultaneously without being slow.... Also, since i bought the device, i only see 4G network on it, no 3G at all....
So I need a custom ROM with good RAM management and network stability even 3G

For MM based rom- try CrDroid, AOKP for customization and performance.
Slim, aosp for stock Android like feature,more battery .
If need lot of customization then RR.
For Noygat roms, RR, AOSP, LOS or same as above given for MM.
