N910C Mobile Hotspot not working , PLEASE HELP ! - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title said, it is able to switch on, but my laptop or PS4 is unable to detect it, they both can detect others network so I guess the only problem is the phone.
I've tried to jump from rom to rom, from Ditto Rom(Lollipop) to Ditto Rom(Marshmallow) to SimplRom, but mobile hotspot still not working.
I researched for whole day, online keep mention about 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz in advanced option with broadcast channel. But what I see is only Broadcast channel and it is set on Auto. Hope this info helps.
Please help me !
Current: I'm trying to go back to cynogenmod 13 to test.
UPDATE: I don't know why my phone is visible to my laptop with cm13

Try different wifi channels (not auto)

Nexus 4 wifi disconnecting

my nexus 4 connects to wifi for a few seconds and is really slow then. the wifi colour turns grey and is not working should i return it or is there a fix ?
wifi is controlled by kernel, are you on stock kernel or what are you using?
is it your router thats causing the problem? try it on another wifi network.
If you're talking about the Wifi going grey and not being connected to Google services but otherwise the internet works, this is a known issue that Google has acknowledged
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40065
In the comment sections, a Google engineer has made a few posts and it's clear this affects numerous devices, which would mean wait on a fix, don't return it.

Worked for me when I changed the channel on my router from 6 to 5. Thank you.
Help
Im also having wifi issues. Works fine with my router at home and was the same with router in work but suddenly the other day it wouldnt connect in work, now it just says "authenticating" and never actually connects.
Have switched the phone on and off but it does nothing. Other phones are all working fine with router, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nokia Lumia 920.
Im using AOKP Jb Mr1 Build 2 Rom and stock kernel and havent changed either before or after the fault.

[Q] WiFi Issues

When the WiFi channel is 13, the Focus is unable to see the router. Initially, I thought the device was f***ked, but later found out that by setting to a fixed channel in the lower frequencies, I was able to connect the Focus to the net.
I checked all the codes, but could not find any solution to change WiFi region.
I would like to know if I install any of the custom ROMs - I am angling towards the Dynamics ROM, will the Focus work with WLAN Channel 13?
Thanks
Vivek

5.0 5Ghz Wifi Issues

Did a full image wipe/install with the official 5.0. I'm no-longer able to connect to my Netgear r6800v2 router with the same channel 48 setting for 5Ghz that previously worked on android 4.4.4.
Any other folks out there with android 5.0 problems using 5Ghz channel?
EDIT: I should add - I'm fully aware the N10 has limited 5Ghz frequencies it works on (e.g. 40, 44, 48) - I've tried 36, 40, 44, and 48... none of these seem to work in android 5.0 with the same router settings. It can see the broadcast and attempts to connect, but IP address is never acquired (DHCP)
I'm having the same issue and my 2.4 network is very slow. Anyone else have this issue or any idea how to fix it.
Yeah I've had issues with 5ghz on every lollipop device I have. Haven't figured out how to fix it yet
I had the same issue and changing to Channel 44 (with Auto bandwidth = 40 mhz) solved it for me, it was on 36 initially
No problems here, did a clean flash of Lollipop and 5GHz is working fine with my RT-AC68U, channel 36, auto bandwidth.
Same problem here. Changed to channel 44 and is at least working
Wiped. Clean flash. No problems. On channel 157. Wish it would tell me if im 300mbit or not. Ac n66u.
Installed from a sideloaded OTA.
Have issues connecting to my Virgin Superhub 2 both on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.. Channel 8 and 36 i believe.

Go into Settings -> Wifi then tap the connected wifi network. It will tell you your link speed there. Mine is connected at 300mb/s, while in powersaver mode it drops to 24mb/s.

Mine only connects at 24Mbps and its not in powersave mode
I've similar issue, but both on 5ghz and 2.4ghz.
The connection isn't stable and I get disconnected all the time after upgrading to lollipop. If I'm tethering with my phone right next to the tablet (on 5ghz) it works perfectly. I'm not sure if they've tweaked the disconnect/reconnect threshold base on signal strength.
I'm having problems with 2.4 Ghz wifi too. In Jelly Bean I have a pretty good coverage with my home router but with Lollipop I get lots of disconnections and slow speed. I'm not sure if it's a drivers problem or an operative system change, but I know for sure that it's a pain in the ass.
I'm having the same problem with 2.4 Ghz.
Both 5 and 2.4 are much worse for me as well compared to kk.

I've solved my Wi-Fi speed problems changing one setting in my router: just disable WMM ( Wifi MultiMedia).
Try to enable/disable that setting (can be shown also as WME instead of WMM).
Good luck!
wifi is terrible after 5 update, on both 2g and 5g, constantley disconnects and not loading pages :crying:

My 2.4g is working perfectly, but it cannot see my neighbours 5g network. My Note 2 sees it fine. I checked with Wifi analyzer app.
I can connect to my BT home hub 5 but it only works for a free minutes and then it kind of freezes.
I'm still connected according to my tablet with good signal strength but there is no internet activity making the tablet pretty much a big paper weight for me at the moment.
If some one can help me fix this issue id be very grateful

Connecting just fine at 5GHz 300Mbps with 5.0. I have tested 2.4GHz as well and both function just fine.
I do connect easly, but connection quality is poor... There is definitely something wrong with Wi-Fi on lollipop

Peculiar Wi-Fi issues

I have my nexus 6p, currently using DU 10.2 for my ROM, and its been great up until 2 weeks ago. I am currently working at a summer camp in the boonies so wifi is helpful for not racking up data usage. And I was having no issues until recently. We went on a trip to the dunes and then when I get back I can't connect to either of the camp's wifi's, secured or unsecured. On the unsecured network, it never is able to obtain the IP address and on the secured, I'm guessing the same thing but it tries to authenticate and cannot. But oddly enough I can connect to any other network like when I go to a cafe in town or another home wifi.
I have tried all of the basics, airplane mode, reboot, and discharge battery. I even tried rolling back to a backup from May. Whats more I got around to checking the DU updater and saw that I never got to 10.3 and tried updating directly to 10.4. Maybe that was a no-no but when I did it, no networks even show up, it can't even find any of them when I know I have connected to them earlier that day.
So there's my dilemma, and I hope there is someone who can give me some insight. I don't believe it's a hardware issue because it's only these two networks, which I'm sure are sharing bandwidth.
Cheers
I've had similar issues sometimes when trying to access a friend's WiFi. The only way I can connect to the network is to change my WiFi frequency band from automatic to 2.4 ghz. What frequency is your phone set to? You could try to change it, and see if it helps. I've also done a reboot, and was then able to connect on automatic.

I was set to automatic, switched to 2.4 Ghz and rebooted. No dice...

Mobile Hotspot - 5 GHz issue after upgrade from Android 6.0 to 7.0

Hi All,
I would be grateful if somebody could confirm for me one thing. To be precise, i am not sure if there is a bug in the stock firmware regarding the mobile hotspot that worked on 5 Ghz while i was on android 6.0 (that was originally installed when i bought it) and by some reason does not work on Adndoid 7.0.
Do not understand me incorrectly, wifi works fine on 5Ghz, i can connect to wireless access points that broadcast on 5 Ghz whiout any problems.
The problem is that when you switch on mobile data and then trying to switch on mobile hotspot to broadcast your phone on 5 Ghz it does not work. When you change it to 2.4 Ghz in the configuration settings of the mobile hotspot, it works. So no more hotspot on 5 Ghz on Android 7.0? It worked on Android 6.0. What a downgrade!
Or its the bug? Can someone test it and reply? Or may be Verizon made it in purposely?
My phone is 930V and it is not rooted with the latest firmware from Verizon. And i am using it outside of US.
I searched the internet for this issue and noticed that people had the problem with wifi module itself after upgrade to 7.0 but they could not to connect to wifi access points on 5.0 Ghz at all. And that problem they solve by doing factory reset. In my case everything is ok with the wifi module. It connects to my wireless access points that work on 5.0 ghz with the speed of 866mbs. It is just mobile hotspot can not be switched on using 5ghz.
By the way, I made factory reset and all available resets and this does not help. Of course it will not help, because i have different problem. I believe that Verizon in purposely made this. But how to correct that? Is that possible at all?
hm it might be a bug, try downloading Foxfi and give it another go
