Did you Factory Reset after downloading Marshmallow? - Onetouch Idol 3 General

Curious to see what the numbers are. Initially I didn't but my cell signal was inconsistent so I decided to give it a shot.
I noticed before the factory reset that lock screen func shortcuts were not populating but after the factory reset it was working as expected.

The update/upgrade, my wifi would drop-out connections. After a factory reset, works great.

[Q] Returning my Iconia a500

Hey guys, just got the tablet for a couple of days but i have found alot of issues with it, i have read nearly everything on this forum but just cant apply any fixes to my problems. I will list down the issues hope any of you guys might be able to help.
1. GPS does not work even with wifi on or off, dosent matter cant find any satalites whatsoever.
2. Update issue, maybe its just Australia but from reading the forums in regards to whos got what updates and such, it seems like most Australians are not getting any updates.
3. I cant do a hardware reset unless im doing it wrong? i put a pin into the reset button and held it for awhile and it didnt do anything.
You've made a soft reset. To hard reset you need to do this:
http://how2fix.org/hard-reset-acer-iconia-tab-a500-to-factory-settings.html
Reset Acer Iconia Tab A500 Factory Data Reset via Software Menus
From the Apps menu, tap on Settings, and then tab Privacy.
Tap on Factory Data Reset, and then tab Reset Tablet.
Tap Erase Everything to format your tablet back to factory default configuration.
Click to collapse
I don't have any issues with GPS or updates. It updated immediately upon first boot during the setup wizard. May be the first time you start your GPS app, you need to wait a little longer - it took almost 10 minutes in my case. Go outdoors and wait a little longer. Best case is if its sunny, no high buildings around and you're not moving.
ahh i see but whats the difference between a soft reset and a hard reset? and yea i tried that i was outside for nearly 30mins and its still "searching for gps" and i dont live near any big bulidings
Soft reset is just rebooting your devise (like the reset button on a PC case). Hard reset restores the device in its original factory settings (i.e. in the state you got it the first time).
What kind of navigation software are you using? I use Sygic Aura 3 - it works pretty good on this device and its an offline navigation - once it downloads the maps through wifi it does not need internet connection. It still has some issues with tablets though - in landscape the lowest menu buttons are 80% off the screen but still "pressable".
i tried using copiolt and the normal navigation that came with the tab, and also downloaded GPS status but the gps couldnt even pick up any statelites

[Q] Can't perform Hard Reset/Factory Restore

Samsung Focus purchased in January. Stock, No updates applied.
It started messing up a few weeks ago, randomly rebooting, etc.
This has since stopped, however there are a few problems still remaining.
- Pictures cannot be saved.
- Recent text messages are gone after a power off/power on cycle.
- Deleted text messages come back after a power off/power on cycle.
- Connection error when trying to connect to PC.
I decided to try a hard reset(format/restore factory settings)
Hard Reset Methods:
1) Dialing ##634# displays a blank screen for a few seconds, then goes back to the regular home screen.
2) Using the 3 hardware buttons... The screens showing 'Formatting' and 'Done!' are displayed, but then phone is right back to where it was before. Everything is the same, nothing has changed.
3) Settings->About->'Reset your phone': Same as above. Displays 'Formatting' and 'Done!', but essentially acts like a soft reset.
I'm getting a replacement phone, however, I'd at least like to be able to wipe and restore the phone I'm sending back.
Any ideas?
It's a known issue. Some phones just refuse to get resetted. Keep trying and wish you luck. I have to reset 3 times to format one of my Focus. Crappy Samsung firmware!

Bluetooth broken since last software update

After this last weekend, I've noticed that Bluetooth no longer works. Specifically, it is off, and when I tap to turn it on from any menu, it grays out and never turns on. I've tried rebooting several times, turning airplane mode on and off, clearing the cache and data from the Bluetooth app and force stopping it, and even booting into safe mode where it still does the same thing. As of last week Bluetooth was working fine and I used it daily for audio streaming and syncing with my smartwatch.
This issue coincides with a software update a few days ago (G950U1UEU1AQH3). I wonder if it has anything to do with that.
I want to avoid a factory reset if at all possible.
my bluetooth works fine after upgrading to AQH3, probably a bad update, im afraid outside of a factory reset not sure how else you can fix it.
Got a fix - I went to "Reset" in Settings and reset all network information. It reset wifi as well, but right after I did that Bluetooth started working. No idea what happened, but at least I avoided a factory reset...

Anyone have this problem with Oreo?

Updated to Oreo and now my second screen is missing and every 2 seconds a pop up says Unfortunately the second screen has stopped working.
Is there any fix for this? Thanks!

Have you tried a factory reset? That or force stopping it and clearing data?
Hi,
I found (with hard effort, kinda, cus it kept popping up) that in App info there is two of them, Second Screen provider & Second Screen settings.
Tried to quickly force close & clear data both of them but the Second Screen is crashing still.
Plus, I don't want to factory reset.
You are going to have to factory reset that is the fix. You might be able to fix it with clearing caches and davlik in twrp if that is applicable. But chances are factory reset will be the only thing that fixes it.

Lg g2 problems

My phone sound settings does not work keep getting setting has turned off when I try to gain access to sound setting. The phone has stopped ringing when I receive calls, vibration works , also the phone will not shut down unless battery drains. Any help?
I think the easiest way to solve your problems would be to perform a factory reset and get everything back to default.
IMPORTANT! Before you start you should back up anything important (SMS's, pictures, files etc.), since a factory reset will remove everything that has been put on the phone after you started it the first time.
So, when you are sure that everything is backed up AND that the device has plenty of power (personally I recommend 75% or more), you can continue and perform the reset:
Go to: Settings - General.
Then under Personal tap: Backup & Reset - Factory data reset - Reset phone - Erase everything.
Confirm and start by tapping OK.
The phone will now start the reset. When it's done you can set it up and start using it.
