Installing Custom ROM onto Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7? - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

I HAVE ALREADY POSTED THIS TO XDA ASSIST. THEY REDIRECTED ME HERE.
I am basically a noob, but I know my way around computers and I can do a few advanced things. I can follow instructions well. So, could you please tell me, could I install a Custom ROM onto my device? (See title).
I HAVE FOUND AN APK INSTALLER FILE HERE: light-science.com/cyanogenmod-installer-apk-download/ . I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS SAFE OR NOT. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THE GUYS @ CM PULLED THEIR OFFICIAL INSTALLER BECAUSE OF SOMETHING CALLED STAGEFRIGHT. I don't think that bug should affect my Tab, because it will not be receiving MMS messages.
I am looking to install CyanogenMod (12). My device is rooted. I am unaccustomed to installing Custom ROMs, in fact this is my first attempt. If there are already instructions on this, please point me that way. I'm new to these forums, but I have used them to solve some of my problems.
Stock SAMSUNG ROM is installed.

Fake Galaxy S4 GT-I9500

Hello - Unofficial phone so I respect that you may not want to or can't help me.
This is a copy phone, looks and works just like the real thing but is not the real thing. Not sure what hard/software is different to a real one.
Model
GT-I9500
Android Version
4.2.2
Kernel 3.0.13
1313 V75
SMP PREEMPT Wed Sep 25 09:48:20 CST 2013
Build number
JDQ39.I9500ZHUAMDE
Custom build version
1378866812
If I hold Vol Up and Power I can boot into some kind of system test.
If I hold Vold Down and Power I get "android system recovery <3e>" with the options to Install from SD
Tests tell me that the phone is not rooted but is custom/not true stock.
-- I wonder if it is safe to try and root this phone?
-- Does anyone have experience with fakes? Any caveats when rooting/flashing?
-- Am I right to be suspicious that this ROM would have some spyware in it as this is my strongest motivation to get root and install a ROM I trust.
Thanks if you can help!

[Q] Hotspot Mod - NAE, MDC, MK2?

Hi Everyone,
I've tried searching Google and using the Search function in this forum but I cannot for the life of me get a clear answer. I rooted my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 phone which had Stock 4.4.2 firmware by following the [SPH-L720] CF-Auto-Root steps and then I installed CyanogenMod 11 by using the Android and Windows Apps. I would now like assistance with getting Sprint Hotspot enabled. I was able to locate the threads in here for the [MOD]. I was able to determine I am not using Odex, but am using Deodex by looking at the System/Apps folder using a Root Explorer. The only thing I need to know now I believe is whether or not I am running NAE, MDC, MK2, etc. as this is not easily available to see on my device (so it seems). I believed it was NAE based on the Build information but that ended up causing me to brick my phone for a moment and having to do a recovery of my last backup.

None of those mods will work, the hotspot mods you listed will not work, they are for the stock Touchwiz roms only. You have CM installed. I believe CM has Androids built in tether provisioning enabled so ask in the CM thread or search your settings till you find the toggle for it.

[Q] Can't install Android Wear

Some time ago I bought (tricked) a Bepa G900W very bad clone from Galaxy S5.
Once I began to know what kind of bug it was I decided to install a better custom Rom.
Right now it has this ROM:
Model: SM-G900W
Android version: 4.4.2 (I'm not sure this is true)
Baseband version: G900SKSU1ANDCD
Kernel: 3.4.5 [email protected] #1
Compilation: KOT49H.G900SKSU1AND3
My problem is that I can't install Android Wear. The Play Store doesn't show it, and when try to install directly from an APK, it gives an "analysis error", "an error has been produced when analysing the apk".
Does any of you know a possible solution?
TIA
I just found that this specific kitkat version 4.4.2 for MTK6582 is really API level 17.
Is there anything against cooking a Kitkat ROM, API level 18, for MTK6582 devices? Nobody has done it yet?

Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 T330NU Android 5.1.1 - Want to update/upgrade to recent versions

Some new apps are not compatible and won't download. I want to get this device updated/upgraded to a very recent Android version. Can someone direct me to the procedure?
Note that I have never hacked this device, nor any other device. But its my favourite.
Regards,
Lou

A good starting point is search for your model device on youtube on installing twrp, which is a replacement for the stock recovery.
Withdrawn.

BTW I have a background in computer design so I understand terms like "ROM image" and "rooting", but a few clarifications will help:
1 - How do I back up my tablet's data so that it can be "imported" back into the upgraded device? I assume there is Win 10 software for this?
2 - After much reading, does TWRP Recovery replace the Android v5.1.1 or just its recovery software or is 5.1.1 still there? Must I choose a TWRP version for a specific device or Android version- like my T330NU?
3 -How does LineageOS fit into this? It appears to be a custom ROM that is installed after TWRP Recovery. Does TWRP Recovery help load LineageOS?
4 - After installing TWRP recovery, MUST I install a (custom) ROM? Is the ROM where the functionality and GUI reside that replace the old Android version?
5 - Is milletwifi a custom ROM? (Its not on a list?) Do the custom ROMs typically have WIFI or must I look for ones that do?
