Map volume buttons to third party remote? - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everybody.
Is there an app or tweak to map or emulate the volume buttons from the shield remote or the shield controller to a third party remote like the amazon fire tv remote.
Maybe like a deep press to the forward and backward button.

That would be very useful as I love the volume control from the shield controller but I don't want to use it for simpler tasks unless gaming.
I think I read there is way to do it on kodi but I'd like it system wide like the official remotes do.

"The two devices look great together, as you can see above, but they work well together too. The keyboard works, of course, but so does the touchpad, volume keys, and mouse/OK button (long press for right-click function)."
Imagine if we could pair our HD2's to this keybord... it would be so cool with a working keyboard with working mouse and volume buttons.
Can it be done??

Hmm... Am I the only one who thought this was really cool?
If I knew this would work on the HD2 I would run our and buy that keyboard today already.
That keyboard feel like it was made from cheap plastic. I almost bough one for my PS3 but decided not to because of how it feels after about 10 minutes of use.

Use Your Android As A Remote

Use Your Android As A Remote
You don't have to have an infrared blaster in your Android device to use it as a remote. Many remote control apps will work over your home network or Bluetooth. I use my phone to control my Nexus Player because the stock remote that it came with died. It's annoying to have to stop using my phone every time I need to navigate my Nexus player, so it would make sense to dedicate an old device to use as a remote.
There are remote apps to control just about anything you need. Here are a few of the best ones on the Play store.

Download Retune (iTunes Remote)
Download Unified Remote
Download PowerDVD Remote
Download Yatse, Kodi / XDMC Remote
Do you use any remote apps? Is so, what do you use them for?
Instead of Yatse, why not use Kodi's oficial app Kore?

Long hold back to kill?

Hey Guys!
I'm kinda missing the feature of holding back button for a 1,5-2sec to kill app that is in full screen. It's missing in +5 for some reason. Any ideas how to replace it? I didn't find a port for now. Device is rooted ofc
hope they will implement in stock rom... Why don't we input this request in their system ? If we will be many, they will hear us maybe
I'm running 7.1.2 LineageOs on my OPX and have the option, in developer options all the way at the bottom

Well, All In One Gestures on the play store allows you to do this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures
It requires root and a bunch of permissions if you feel it's needed.
I also use All In One Gestures just for Back to Kill

Remapping the Panel Keys on JY-TL139N2

Hey Guys,
I am happy I bought this Joying JY-TL139N2. This is a 9 inch HU for 2011 Camry and I love it.
Out of the box, the home key on the left panel did not work and everything else worked including the Pause/Play key. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo before I tried to remap them in the settings and I had no clue how the settings looked before I cleared the settings.
This below is the screen after I tried to remap the key, but I don't see the Play/Pause button at all. Does anyone have this unit? Can someone help me finding the Play/Pause button?

How to get shortcuts for GeForce games on Shield TV home screen?

I'd there a way to get individual GeForce games to show up separately as apps on Shield home screen like this?
See how Everspace 2 and Grip show as extra apps so you can just click on and play directly from the home screen?

Anyone?
Was GeForce now removed from Shield TV and replaced with Nvidia Games?
Is there a way to put shortcuts to individual Geforce games on the Shield TV home screen so you can launch straight from?
Can't you navigate to bottom of page and under Customize your Home Screen select the app you want shortcuts to?
