Misspelled words and poor composition won't get that petition very far.

This, and the fact that it hasn't really helped in the past.

The real customer to Samsung is Verizon. Not us. We are just Verizon's users of which wealth is to be extracted from.

First rule of purchasing a phone: buy it for the features it has, not the ones it might someday get. Otherwise you will be disappointed.
You knew the bootloader was locked down tight when you bought the phone. There is no chance in hell it is going to get unlocked. Deal with it. If an unlocked bootloader is that important to you you should have bought a Nexus.

OP is a full fledged member of the optimists club I guess.

If only it had all the same feature. I like the nexus but do like samsung more for the little built in features.

Verizon is not going to support unlocking the bootloader on a non developer device. I'm not sure the point of creating a petition.
Vote with your wallet - don't buy Verizon devices.

But they aren't going to do it exactly because there are people that want it unlocked. The petition is being directed to the wrong place.

I think it was around... never? Yep, that's it. When are people going to realise that online petitions aren't taken seriously? Only exception is if it's signed by millions and the media gives it publicity. Otherwise forget it.
All the replies arguing this does not work... Would of took less time to sign the petition.

Honestly, I don't see the point. Verizon doesn't want an unlockable bootloader on their devices. There is nothing that can make that happen. They don't want to have to deal with the support issues. If you want a phone with a unlockable bootloader, don't buy a Verizon phone. It is not that complicated. A petition has no bearing on Verizon's decision. There isn't enough customers who really want to unlock their phone's bootloader to install a custom rom.
So good luck to all 17 of you!

I find it amazing you can reply to this thread twice, with no intentions of helping out your fellow xda'er. Why did you even bother replying? It does not take much time to sign the petition. Less then it took you to reply twice, that's for sure.
There's really nothing amazing about two posts. The time wasted here can be matched evenly with, say, signing this junk.
Here's to being blissful time spenders!

Because XDA isn't only about hacking your phone?
I've been using XDA for years, and while I hack some of phones, I don't root all of them (in fact my Z5 was rooted, it's not now) and I'll be buying the AT&T version since I'm not sure I want to mess with system and mess up Samsung pay.

Viper4android sucks IMO.
I only use TB when I forget to backup info before wiping/flashing, so not super important.
I don't use ad blockers, if a site/app uses ads with disregard to usability I stop using them, otherwise I pay if I can or live with ads, developers and content providers need to eat to.

I may be boring but at least I've helped the community in my S6 days, also in my days with the relay. Also I understand what I'm doing without guides, able to fix things when I mess up, and don't need to go around telling others their use case for their phones is stupid and beneath mine.
Good luck in life kid, I'm sure you'll figure things out someday

...nevermind
How is preaching going from your parents house? If a guy wants to know about something, why immediately judge and attack him. Are you insecure? Are you young and dumb? Old and dumb? Just dumb? Just from Canada? I'm sorry but from what I know xda is a site with a reputation for not having to feel excluded for asking a question. A site where you can get answers without the fear of assholes like yourself. Not everyone is technical and they, the majority, are the reason why we all have great product engineering. That majority keeps you able to hack, augment and change the latest tech all while many millions more don't. Do not judge people on here as you are just showing the world how small you are in mind.
Sorry. I was only joking around.

It's ok. Humility is a sign of maturity. This place is for all of us. BTW OP, I used to be att. They do that to delay shipping. I assure you sim cards aren't on back order. It's because they can use that to gold the shipment in their oms.

This doesn't mean the bootloaders are unlocked. Please read the article carefully.
It clearly states, "You could find unlocked units before, but now several retailers are selling carrier-free S7 units."
All this means is that "The phones will work on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular."
Again, this is not the same as having an unlocked bootloader. Not even close.
However someone seems to have stumbled upon an engineering bootloader, so this thread may not be a fallacy for much longer!

The ones they are selling are 935F. Exynos version. If Samsung locked these never buying again. They would be stupid to do that.

It works flawlessly. The only issue is the lag and WiFi password after the initial root. To fix the lag after you've just rooted you download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod and set the governor to interactive in the general menu and in the settings tab check kernal settings on set on boot. Then finally to fix WiFi you download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nathan.jf.build.prop.editor and find "ro.securestorage.support" click on it and set it to false, then *make sure you the hit check button* restart the phone and your good.
(Also to specify the issue with the WiFi passwords is that it doesn't save after a reboot. Meaning that you must re-enter the password after every reboot.)

Verizon Note 7 removing features

Droid Life just reported that the Verizon is removing the Device Maintenance and RAM management feature from the phone

No Samsung cloud either, unless I'm overlooking it.

From what I have seen so far as well is the Verizon model is the only one that still has the old settings layout and not the new one like in all the advertisements.

Maybe we can get the apk unless root is required. I was really looking forward to this feature.
What does this mean in terms of usability? What actual features are removed? Can we still tailor the battery saving stuff?
I tried every work around I know of. It seems it's not just hidden, but in fact missing. Hope we can recover it from a different model...

That's not always the cure. The newer unlocked s7 versions are still on a May software version with not 1 update since its June 30 release. I had one and sold it.

Does anyone know if its working on the TMO model? I'll check out their forums. Has Samsung really initiated it out of the box? Their website is vague but mentions Note 7 although I read somewhere an update will include it.
I figured the August security update might include it but that was a no go. This is bull****

Bounty verizon note 7 root

I'd like to officially kick off the bounty for rooting the verizon note 7. I'm certainly no pro at this stuff which is why I come to you guys for the knowledge I'm always seeking. That being said I'm not even sure how to go about donating to said bounty fund. Verizon and AT&T phones have been nearly identical in recent years. Both are usually more locked down than T-Mobile (for example). Starting with the S7 and S7edge and now with the Note 7, almost all firmware can be universally flashed. Verizon is the best platform as they are already Sim-unlocked.
Interesting! You said your running the ATT firmware didn't you? So your rom is basically the att version?

It will. The system file is what you keep from the Sprint rom.. The nice thing is that the rom is a pre-carrier release so basically before Sprint got their hands on it to add their own bloatware.
You essentially perform the Sprint root guide but right before rooting via adb, you flash the CP, BL, and CSC from the Verizon firmware.
