Help Requested - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody,
A few weeks ago i update my P8 Lite from B181 to B550 but i got the Balong bug but since very people said to me that this bug don´t affect the daily use of the phone, i don´t mind with it. But a few days ago, my phone from nowhere start to install a update ( i don´t selected anything) and after the update my phone was tottaly clean, like, no apps, no files, nothing! the phone memory was completly gone!
Now i´m think is better to go back to Stock ROM, but i need help because some people said that install via local update the original firmware works ( i don´t have the option to choose local update like i have in B181 before update) and other people said that the process is a little bit more hard.
So, can someone help me please?
My Phone is locked to Vodafone Portugal (Single SIM). Like a said before update to B550 i was in B181
Thank you everybody and sorry for the bad english :good:

First of all you b550 is for dual sim,you have single sim so you need b551.
Second b550/1 it's stock rom,it's just stock 6.0
Balong bug appears when you flash a firmware that is not for your country so in order to get rid of balong, just flash the file from vendor/custom folder that cames in the archive of your last firmware downloaded.
Is your bootloader unlocked?

How can i Root P8 LiTE without unblock bootloader?

Hey!
First of all my english is very bad, I'll do the best I can .
Some weeks ago (2-3) I received the phone , Huawei P8 Lite Android 5 (Vodafone ROM).
So i rooted with KingRoot and all was perfect.
Few days ago my friends told me to upgrade to 6.0, thats what i do. But surfing @ inet everything I've read is to Root with Bootloader unblocked..
But i cant unblock my bootloader cuz Huawei site says: "The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days."
So i downgrade to Android 5.0 SPAIN to try to root... butt.. CANT now, KingRoot says unavailable to root cuz version is "hi6210sft" instead of ALE-21, my version is DUAL SIM i dont care about double sim , i only want 1 lol.
The question is.. can i Root my Huawei P8 LITE (Compil.:BalongC50b311) without unblock my bootloader? I can upgrade/dowgrande all version if needed, the only think i need is Root.
Thanks you very much and sorry for this ****ty post (;z)
Regards
First of all, your rom in your Phone is not for Your Phone.. That word "balong" is "you have bad rom" flash right rom, then it could be possible to make root again like you already did

Yea, but cant flash the rom without bootloader unblocked true? :/
So, BALONG = some is wrong
im not sure, but i think you easily can flash stock rom without unlocking bootloader... you need just right rom image. It will be like "P8Lite_C432_B190.APP" that .APP is very important, because only with this you can flash it (just put it into root of your phone turn off device then press volume up and down in the same ime and urn it on. release after you see huawei logo)
yes, balong means something is wrong, but sometime your phone can work normally, it just rom for different region (for example China)

Okay thanks you, ill try to ask for the correct img to my friend's, only i've to do is search and try to find the correct ROM then flash with what soft??
You dont need aby soft, just do What i describe in previous post... And I think you will need rom like b130 or similar low number... Then u can upgrade to 170....

CO2 - vodafone branding
C432- generic (non-branded)
after some reading on XDA it's seams that 432 will become 900, I have first to "unbranded", change from 02 (vodafone) to unbranded 432
I found a tutorial on XDA but only in spanish, does it exist in english ?
thanks

Hello and thanx will it also work for the VNS-L31C02B123 verion .. I have been looking everywhere .. My phone is rooted and unlocked .. Thank you
Hello,
I know this thread is a little old but I have some follow up questions since I'll trying to achieve the same (also have L31C002B125 and would like to upgrade without bricking, if possible).
Where is that Spanish guide you found to unbrand your phone (Spanish is fine by me) from 02 to 432?
I've found several treads that talk about jumping to 161 but with a procedure that doesn't inspire much confidence for me. Something requiring preparing a dload folder with B161, flashing oeminfo/custom.bin for my location (that still is C02 and cannot find any file with that) then realizing the firmware is corrupted (what??) and letting it repair using the dload files via 3keys/dialer code (wich one?)... etc etc. as you see not very noob friendly.
At this moment I have already unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP recovery... Can't I do the usual flash with latest rom as with other phones? To afraid to try. Please help.
First, you need change oeminfo. Flash oemiffo from c432 and other step -flash firmware c432b160 ( dual sim) 161 ( single sim).
Very easy make this is via twrp. Flash zip with vendor and firmware.

hi first post please do replay thanks

Hi I am new to this so please do bare with my lack of knowledge
first things first I never had been in the P9 Lite Beta I brought the phone and I have never installed any roms or so on
my question is it seems my phone is branded to the Germany Telekom
that's where I brought it makes sense my question is I can not go away from the
firmware or can I go from there firmware to another firmware like the one you can download from there main site that is unbranded
why do I think my phone is branded is because I have tried the Update.app from the 27.03.17 I do the dial code and it restarts it starts goes to 7 percent and it cuts out
failed to install reboot phone and it goes back into the 6.0 Marshmallow
I am wandering how other people are able to install the B170/B171 update I know my Phone Model is (Huawei P9 VNS-L11) but the Phone Model is Huawei P9 LITE Vns-L31 ???
how are people in Europe to install the phone prove its the final code an not the beta since I am not able to update an may people are saying its finished and it being rolled in OTA
what do I have to do to remove the Telekom software and install a stock rom without it being locked preventing me from installing the update to 7.0 please replay thanks you and enjoy the weekend

p9 Lite reverting from (self installed) dual sim firmware back to stock single sim?

About 14 months ago Orange had a great deal on the p9 lite, so I leapt on it.
I thought it might be fun to upgrade the firmware from the single sim (as supplied) to dual sim ...I recall it took me many nights! (& it wasn't fun)
Now I've a few issues with the phone & I don't use the dual sim at all ...so I'd like to go back to stock single sim software ...how do I do that? (I've downloaded what I think is the correct rollback software, put it onto sd card in a dload folder...but when the upgrade happens I get a warning that the firmware I'm using is incompatible with the current version)
My phone is currently running VNS-L31C432B130 (but like I say, this is dual sim firmware ....I now want single sim)
Many thanks in anticipation
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1164/g104/v66022/f1/full/update.zip << It's VNS-L31C432B161
Many thanks...that has installed fine - when I go to Settings - About phone it shows VNS-L31C432B161 ...just to confirm that's single sim firmware? (edit: just seen that the option to manage sim cards is still showing in settings...therefore this must be dual sim firmware?)
VNS-L31C432B161 seems to be quite an old version (Oct 2016 - ish) - how do I get up to the latest version now that I'm back on stock single sim firmware?
B160 - Dual SIM
B161 - Single SIM
Download and open Firmware finder >> Tap on VNS-L31C432 >> Search for VNS-L31C432B371 (Full OTA MF PV !) >> Tap on it >> Get an update through DNS >> Change DNS >> Register Update >> Go to Settings > Updater and there you should see the update >> Update.
You have VNS-L31 , I have VNS-L21 , so I don't know what updates do you need to install in order to get the latest version (You can't simply install VNS-L31C432B404 for example if you have VNS-L31C432B161)

Thanks ...B371 Full OTA MF is downloading now ...once installed, presumably I have to go through all the follow on versions from B371 in the same way? (is there a list of releases anywhere so that I know which firmware versions/order to apply?)

Well after a lot of faffing about (& a couple of upgrade failures - 'unable to verify' blah blah), it seems that the B371 from firmware finder loaded...but bizarrely, after upgrading the phone tells me it's running NRD90MTEST firmware.
Any idea if that sounds right?
Edit: Bluetooth isn't working...oh dear, something has gone badly wrong here...
Ok, so it seems if NRD90MTEST firmware is showing after an upgrade, then the wrong firmware version was selected in firmware finder...so I reverted back to B161 where I shall now stay put!
Ehm , I told you to download the FULL OTA MF PV version , not FULL OTA MF ...

You did indeed, but I clearly missed the importance of the PV (no harm done, as I say I rolled back to B161) ....I don't suppose you happen to know which is the most recent firmware version that everyone is using successfully from Firmware Finder for VNS-L31C432 (i.e. where Bluetooth works, Camera Works etc.)

Heh , no problem if you managed to rollback to B161 . Also , did you update to B371 ? I mean , after you rolled back to B161 , did you update to B371 ?
By the way , you can't install versions one by one (Like B371 > B380 > B381 (for example)) because one is for Single Sim and one is for Dual Sim >> For example , I have VNS-L21C432B391 , and those with Dual SIM version have VNS-L21C432B390 and they'll get an update to B392 , and I'll get an update to B393 .
I would help you more if I had the 3GB version and not the 2GB version..

No I didn't ...only because I selected the wrong version of firmware in firmware finder & now my phone is waiting for me to update it (I can't find a way to reject/remove the update ...which if I could, I would then update to B371)

My phone was purchased as a single sim, but it had dual sim capability - therefore I'm confused as to whether I should always be selecting the dual sim firmware when upgrading...also, where are you finding our which version is single sim & which version id dual sim (is there some website which lists this?)
Are you saying that if I manage to upgrade to B371, afterwards I should then upgrade to B390...which will ultimately see my phone getting an upgrade to 392?
Many thanks for your help :good:
Ah , forgot that you have VNS-L31 and not VNS-L21.
Use Firmware Finder to send B371 FULL OTA MF PV version to Updater..

Alas, I can't get the wrong version of firmware out of updater (it's currently got the non PV version - from a day or two ago)...it's still hanging about in updater (even after me deleting the update.app files using a file manager app on the phone, factory reset....still there!) - in fact I think it has really messed things up badly (I spent a full night ponied up 15EUR on DC Phoenix to recover my phone.)
So, having added the wrong version of firmware to updater, there seems to be no way of either deleting it or superceding the version that's currently sitting in updater ...it's stuck with that wrong version in updater ....forever!

Upgrade from B160 to Nougat

Hey Guys, Yes, I Know, there exists already some threads about that problem, but often there are not accurately so I ask you again.
I have a VNS-L31 Dual Sim, bought in Germany without Brand, and I had Resurection Remix installed. I had some Problems with SafetyNet and so on so I decided to switch to the Stock Rom. After some Problems with the data partition (witch I forgot to format), I have now a working OS, flashed with DLoad Method.
Build Number: VNS-L31C432B160
Locked Bootloader, stock Recovery
The Problem is, that this OS does not recieve any updates, and it would be perfect to have nougat on this one. I tryd Firmware Finder already, but after try to upgrade to B370, the Upgrader said "failed to check the upgrade files. Please download once again.". It was a Full OTA Upgrade. Other Versions result into the same or simmilar failures like compatibility issues.
Do you have a Idea how to fix that?
I'm sorry for my bad english
Have a nice day
