power save gps ( network location ) and kernel adiutor - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Gps via wifi or 3g, doesnt work after you click on test or when kernel adiutor apply its settings at boot.
I tried some mods of KA, and no sucess. Tried chaning gps confs, using faster gps, no sucess too. Tried multiple roms, multiple kernels, and no sucess.
if anything from any section is applied, the gps via network stops working.
This is in ANY custom rom.
Does anyone have a solution to this, or maybe help finding a solution? i'm going crazy... i want so badly to use a custom rom, but this is the only issue i'm experiencing that i need, and it works perfectly in stock miui rom.
Please help me, and everyone that may be experiencing this :'( lol

Have you got gapps? If yes, check obtain location permission for google play services

Everything is okay, locations work fine. But if kernel adiutor applies its settings, the locations stop working at the exact moment

Damn, still no thoughts or solution to this

[SOLVED] Google Maps not working in vector and offline modes!

Hi,
Since I started using custom ROMs (I've tried miniCM and Floyo) I can't get Google Maps 5+ to work in vector mode, nor offline. The 3D capabolities are also gone. They all worked in the stock FW.
Anybody knows the reason and/or the solution?
I've tried this but it doesn't work for the X8.
Does this other solution work? (it's a rather old post, that's why I'm asking, also it for Maps 5.0)
Thanks!
Bump!
Am I the only one concerned about this?
Thank you!
Solved!! (sort of...)
Elelinux doesn't have this problem! Google Maps works as it should be.
Now guess which is favourite ROM... Developers should take a look at what's going wrong with the others.

after upgrading the Google Maps stopped working here!
but I found the solution by following the links and making the following way!
reinstall xrecovery with flashtool v0.2.9.1,reboot end includ this line or change value in /system/build.prop
ro.opengles.version=313072
maps updated, working compass
May I ask why is the xRecovery update needed?
I tried editing build.prop with the miniCM ROMs, but it didnt work. I will do as you say, but I would really like to know the connection with xRecovery...

if not reinstall will not be able to change the build.pro, because after reboot it back to the original.
Thanks! Now I guess I will be able to update Google Maps in any other ROM (though I have no intention of leaving Elelinux in the short term)
HOWEVER, once I updated, Navigation stopped working saying that 'it is not supported in my country' (Chile)... just the way it was with the original (Eclair) Firmware. I really don't use navigation, but now I see that what is happening here is the Google Maps app included in Elelinux has some kind of 'medication' that overrides both the vector/offline thing and the regional restrictions of Navigation.

Just to rule out some rogue app messing things up, you should do a superwipe ext 4 , reinstall a rom along with gapps and use a new login once you first boot up so that none of your market apps download from the market. You can create a new gmail account just to test. Once you boot up with the new account, don't install any apps except Google Maps, especially don't install any gps related apps. Open Maps first while you are outdoors to see if you get a gps signal.
Also remember to stand outside (clear GPS signal possibility) around 5mins after all those wipes.
I had the same issue and set my phone to outside for 10min with GPS Status on and no screen saver -> worked like a charm.

[Q] wifi

Hi, I've been trying to get my wifi to work for the ics and jellybean custom roms using coderz's 3.0.66 kernel even though this helps it tends to disable the usb connection, can anyone help me figure out a way....
P.S. my wifi has issues with most jellybean roms anyway to resolve this?

Which rom?
Also, does your phone have the headset heat?
i found a solution to my problem
Sorry for not replying earlier man, i did a little bit of research and found out that the problem was with my wifi region settings (which only works with US), therefore I no longer use the coderz kernel. I am currently on the Mokee 4.2.2 rom which is great.....But is there a way to let the region settings stay as they have been set after reboot.. I have no headset overheat ..thank youuu

i9505 keeps on rebooting! Help!!

My phone keeps on rebooting ever since (i think) i flashed a modem. Ive tried several roms but it is still rebooting. Ive also tried KT kernel but it is still rebooting. It reboots randomly while in calls and when i use poweramp. It didnt reboot when i use youtube or when i play games or when i surf the net. Idk what to do.
It reboots on poweramp when a crackling sound of the song starts. For the record it reboots 3-6 times a day which is annoying.
For those who will ask, yes ive followed the steps on whatever rom i was using meticolously.
Help would be greatly appreciated!

No mods, roms that i have used that rebooted omega, golden eye and i forgot the other one (all installed in respective order). Kernels i have usee are the ones included in the rom except when i tried ktoonesz on every rom. Baseband i have installed are according to the rom. I have only one patched app which is poweramp.

Reading your answer, I pretty sure that it should be hardware issue.
I had the same with my Note 2. They had to change mainboard.
Sorry.

Defy Wifi drops problem is driving me crazy, tried everything, plz help !

Hello guys,
I've been trying to fix wifi on my Defy since I got the phone a month ago and I'm starting to get really frustrated with this problem.
I usually just read, dont post on forums but I've tried alot of solutions found on this forum and others and. nothing has worked except flashing CM10/11 or SlimRom. Wifi doesn't work properly on stock ROM or MIUI so my guess is it's a framework problem which has been fixed on newer versions because as soon as I swith to android 4.0 or above, I have no problem, but these ROMs eat up alot of the phones resources and I would like to have a more fluent experience so I want to stay on MIUI.
Any other defive connects fine to my Asus router.
So on any gingerbread ROM (stock/custom) wifi works fine a few minutes and then the signal drops and disconnects. After that I can't see any wifi networks in range. and only works again if I enable/disable wifi or activate/deactivate airplane mode, but it drops again after a few minutes.
I've tried changing every setting in the router(changed channels, frequencies, disabled 802.11n mode, changed to g mode, etc), or in the defy related, nothing works unless I flash an android 4.x.
Plz help, I'm desperate.
Thx.

One idea: try getting the Wi-Fi related files from a CM11 rom and use them in a CM7 one. Maybe system/etc/wifi ?

Can you do that? Has anyone tried it? I mean I suppose you mean the wifi drivers, are they compatible with a gingerbread system if they were designed for android 4.x? And if so where/which arethese files? and do I simply replace them like copy/paste?

I used to replace gps.conf with a version that worked better in my country. I never tried with wi-fi files. You could copy-paste them, but I think you should repair permission afterwards.
