snapdragon processor issue - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

hey guys am observing my phone since 5 days continuously and I found out that the snapdragon 650 processor never goes into 400Mhz frequency state

I think that that is normal. There is a custom kernel project which i think changed the frequencies.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/red...ernel-redmi-note-3-caf-kernel-source-t3367231

I just checked mine and it's the same. 400mhz is unused.

1.3GB out of 2.8GB is free for me. No issues with performance though. Awesome ROM. Only fingerprint doesn't work and on boot up need to toggle flight mode to get Network.

only 1.3 free we get 1.7 free on miui when we reboot
and wat abt battery backup?

changed the settings using kernel aduitor app I.e set the CPU min freq to 400 MHz and its now able to go in to 400 MHz state .... but it goes back to 691mhz once rebooted even though apply on boot is checked in kernel aduitor

I'm currently using aosp 5.1.1. It's fully functional, however SOT is a bit worse.
Although it shows less free ram than miui it works much much better. It keeps really many apps in memory. That's the main reason why I'm not using miui.

Root your phone. Install app like "Kernel auditor" and underclock. If u need full control over ur phone, try unlocking bootloader and then underclock.

HTC 820 intensive use - Extend battery life - Ultimate tips

/***********************************/
Intro:
I was busy looking for a solution to make battery life last longer. After some tests i realised that it was not possible to set cpu frequencies on this phone without a custom kernel. So i came up with an ultimate solution to make battery last through intensive internet use. It's been nearly 11 hours that my phone is on without screen being switched off and on wifi. Here you go.
/***********************************/
Requirements:
Rooted Htc 820
/***********************************/
Installation:
Download Kernel adiutor from the playstore - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=en
Go to the menu -> CPU -> Set cpu governors to powersave for both the BIG and LITTLE CPUs.
De-activate Core 3 and Core 4 for both big and little CPUs.
Select Apply on boot to keep the settings for next time you reboot your phone.
/***********************************/
As simple as that you will get 2 to 3 times better battery life. *Note htc default battery saver should not be on for better results. I also realised that the phone charged much faster with this. Enjoy and dont forget to press thanks if this helped you and leave some feedback about it
I took much time trying to figure out how to make my battery last longer so i'm just sharing what i experienced with the wish to help others. blessed have a nice day peeps. Love dat phone :victory:

It requires busybox, but I can't install busybox in my phone. Is it because of S-ON?
Take this and flash it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-820/development/busybox-htc-820-t3083268
Will it work on a51_dtul desire 820u dual sim Indian version.. Running on lollipop 5.0.2? Download failed it says @Oel
It works on Lollipop. Europe single version. But it shut work on every version.
Or try this Busybox. Works also on Lollipop.
For me the download is working. Here is the zip, try it first.
I m worried if it will brick my phone, if u r sure then I'll go ahead @Oel
Make a backup in your TWRP Recovery from the system und you will be on the save side.

depends on which type of user you are. If you're playing heavy games ect certainly this will effect performance. But for casual users which use some normal apps or for internet browsing, making calls, messages ect; there will be no noticeable decrease in performance.
AH got that .

I say u don't need more than 4 cores in your one plus 2 .
U say u r on custom rom . Try flashing bofella kernel . Nd install Bofella config app .
Apps are not optimised enuf to take multicore advantage .
Nd to take multicore advantage we need vulkan support .
PS : I don't know if one plus 2 does support vulkan .
App name system monitor ( free on play store )
First time to install this app, how can I enable the CPU graph like you did? Thanks!

High Battey drain, KernelOS?

Hi! Could anyone help me figure out why I have such high battery drain? I get about 2,5 hours of screen on time if I'm lucky. This is only on AOSP roms. According to GSMbattery it's "kernel is" that drains the most battery. I also have betterbatterystats installed but I'm not sure how the read that app.

KernelOS doesn't exist, that's what i mean. every android iteration has something called a kernel, which manages the CPU and stuff. it's a part of the system, and not an OS at all. If you don't know what that is I wouldn't recommend that you poke around, you might slip up and DFU brick your phone...
By reinstall the system I mean:
-go to TWRP
-wipe system, data, cache, dalvik
-flash the A2017X universal bootstack, the modem file for your phone, the ROM, the OpenGApps if you want to have Google stuff, Magisk or SuperSU for root
-Reboot and use

Try to flash a custom kernel, and if it doesn't do anything then yeah, go back to stock
I would try Wakelock detector or look into alarm section of BBS.
Can you tell us which modem you are using and which device you own?

I don't think it's got anything to do with wakelocks as it doesn't use barely any battery when the screen is off. Overnight it might use 3-4 percent. Over 2 hours in the day it only drains 1 percent.
I use the modem from the LOS thread and I have the G model of the phone.

You might have the cores always at max speed. Use Kernel Adiutor, and try to use the conservative governor on big and LITTLE cores

Hi. Since yesterday I run dark room as opposed to RR official. I did factory reset using twrp 3.1.1.0. Before changing roms I tried to install different modems. Currently b06 since I have G version. According to stats phone does sleep yet battery drain is high. I think last night lost like 40% or even more. Not sure when this all started. I've been using RR for months without any issue. The thing is that I was always charging my phone at night so I don't know when exactly this started to happen. Perhaps there is a hardware issue. I will try to get back to stock this weekend if no other solution is found. Cheers

In next update all cores will go down to 300mhz, when not in use. I dont know why manufactures dont do this..... Why in hell i want all cores at max when phone is sleeping......????
Stay tuned, yesterday i left phone streaming music all day. Late afternoon phone was stll at 45%. Battery life greatly improved in next built.

Regards.
Is this rom really faster/better? I find the stock already fast and stable. And the latest firmware has stability improvements. I play games like gta, ganstar, asphalt and others. Do you suggest this rom?
Well im near to test it, need some times more..
A guide to flash would be usefull but i think it's Just this:
Unlock bootlader
Flash twrp
Wipe all (data system cache dalvik etc)
Flash the. Zip
Reboot, done. Right?
For root need the super su flashable?
More thing before mod my smartphone:
(With root)
Possibile to change boot animation?
Lock unlock sound?
Possibile to add power sound? Like on some Huawei
Will be able to use substratum?
And for xposed?
Thx in advice
gents, v04 is up!!
log:
- corrected some permissions
- added speed tweaks
- de-odexed and zip aligned some apps, for stability
- more debloat
- updated all apps
- optimized thermal and cpu core configuration
- more battery life optimizations.
- more rendering optimizations...... smoother......
note:
- please be patient on first boot.... it takes longer, since some core apps were deodexed
