You mean both SIM running at the same time in 4G mode??

That's how it worked on my g3

I don't think so. How it worked in G3 was that u could choose either sim 1 or sim 2 as your preferred sim and can activate 4g on the sim of your choice. But if you chose sim 1 as your preferred sim and chose 4G/LTE, sim 2 would automatically be switched to 2g and vice versa.
In moto G4 you don't get the option to use 4G on sim 2 at all. If you choose sim 2 as your preferred sim for data, you will only get 3G speeds. So if you want to use a 4G connection, you will have to place the 4G sim in sim 1 slot.

I just got my moto g4 and it is dual 4g like it says on Motorola website

I don't know where in motorola website you got your info but you are incorrect. As you can see in the screenshots, there is no option to choose 4g for the 2nd sim.

I am getting 4G option on SIM slot 2. But what i am seeing that i am not getting any data network on 4G in this slot. 3G works like a charm on this slot. Let me use Slot 1 and see if i get 4G data.

That is really strange. I am pretty sure that the 2nd sim does not support 4g as i saw this info on various sites n reviews before buying the phone.
As for u not getting 4g on the 1st sim, that has to be a network issues imo coz 4g is working with no probs for me on airtel in two different cities too.

My Moto G4 Plus UK dual sim can do 4G on Sim1 and Sim2 but NOT at the same time, if Sim1 is 4G then Sim2 is 3G (or 2G), if you make Sim2 4G then Sim1 is 3G (or 2G)
Most importantly is that when one sim is running as voice+data 3G or 4G, the other sim can still connect at 3G which is not common on most dual sim phones.

It is dependent on which SIM you set as your preferred SIM for mobile data. Which ever SIM is selected 1 or 2, that can do 4G and the other SIM can do 3G/2G only.
So I keep one on 4G and the other on 2G save battery and also have a more stable connection (well that varies from provider/region).

The Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 617 (and the close related 615) cannot do simultaneous 4G/LTE on both SIM's, only one at a time.

Step 1 : Set the preferred sim for data, this is the sim that can do 4G.
Step 2 : Update the network type for the other sim.
As you can see from my screenshots, it's the SIM in slot 2 that is doing 4G and the first slot is set to 2G. If you select the preferred sim for mobile data to be the first sim, then that will be the one with 4G and the second slot will be restricted to 3G/2G.
Hope that was clear?

Galaxy S6 Duos (dual-sim)

I created this thread for users of the dual sim variant of the Galaxy S6. I'm excited for my phone that will be released on 04/18 here in the Philippines. I pre-ordered the Black 32GB . How about yours?
Already owned Duos 32GB now
What is the model number of the dual sim variant and which country is it from?

Awesome! I'm also interested in the model number and which country is it made. Can you share it to us? Thanks!
http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/consumer/mobile/smartphones/smartphones/SM-G9200ZWUTGY
The model name is remained Galaxy S6, not named Galaxy s6 Duos. The model number is SM-G9200 and available in four colour in HK(with Green will be available in next month probably) and only 32GB listed, no 64/128GB offer as selection. The official price is USD$730.5 here.
http://www.wilsoncomm.com.hk/product-display-990
WCDMA SIM 1 / SIM 2: WCDMA: 850/900/1900/2100, TD-SCDMA: 1880/2010
LTE SIM 1 / SIM 2: FDD:AWS/700/900/1800/2100/2600, TDD: 1900/2300/2500/2600
It does support a wide range of WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, LTE, TDD including almost all network in HK, China, Europe and USA. I can't find out where is it manufactured, it's odd that doesn't mention in the box. But since we are part of China, safe guess is made in China.
There are still two more dual sim variant available in China with other model number as I known and not sure if they got 64/128GB.
SM-G920FD might be a dual sim phone... not sure yet
(SM-G920F is an international unlocked phone... FD suggests international unlocked + dual sim?)
weird..hmmm. i found this at samsung philippines website and it says SM-G920FD ...i'm sure that it is a dual sim version as announced.

Did someone ever have a dualsim card phone and can comment if it uses battery much faster. I live in China and it seems that the Hong Kong version is available as dualsim but I am hesitating as battery life isn't great already and I am sure there won't be any custom rims targeting dualsim phones.

Hi the HK version of dual sim as mentioned above is G9200. I am also based in China and currently in hk for few days. I just bought the s6 32gb 2 days back. Yesterday it gave me 4 hours screen time with 3g data on all the time. I had a lot of google services on yesterday which i have turned off today and will report how it goes.

This time we are all on the same and only exynos platform, custom roms for dual sim model is easier and possible in the future but unliky there will be a lots appear. Indeed, with 3gb ram and so powerful cpu you are enough to live with stock rom and kernel except that you want to get the best battery performance out.
Speaking to the battery life, it just getting better everyday. After a few times of recharge cycle plus the latest ota update yesterday, my battery life seems to be improved up to 50%. You have to be power saving mode enabled if you want to use it full day however. Second sim should consumer a bit more power but it is limited to 2G when your first sim is in 3g or 4g mode, I think 2g only use very little battery.

Hi
Is the phone dual sim dual active mean both sim can receive calls same time not dual standby ?
Is the phone dual 3G/4G mean both sim can have 3G/4G?

Both sim can receive calls at the same time. However, with one being used as 3G/4G and the another one is limited to 2G. Not dual 3G/4G standby.
Thanks for your reply. So it's dual full active not dual standby and you can switch 4g to sim 2 but in this case sim 1 is 2g correct?

As you can see from the screenshots, it already told you almost all things. I've got a couple of sim card but currently I only got one nano sim so I can't test the sim2 yet.
Voice call: You are free to pick which sim you would like to dial out and ring people.
Data service: You are limited to use either sim1 or sim2 to go on Internet but you can switch it here easy anytime. Only the data sim will get 3G/4G access and the other sim will switch to only 2G mode.
Dual Sim Always on: When you enable it, you can always receive phone call from both sims at the same time even you are during calls.

Good for you!
BTW
...As I check the model number inside the settings it says SM-G920F..But on all the stickers at the phone box and on the phone it says SM-G920FD....I think we can't just use a SM-G920F custom ROM in the future as there's a dual simcard settings in the phone.
Thanks TheEndHK
I think It's a dual sim dual standby and with the option dual sim always on as it shown in your screenshot you enable call farwarding from sim 2 to sim 1 when you receive a call to sim 2 and talking to sim 1. It's not a real dual active.
Regarding data service if you put your sim card to sim 2 tray and set data service to sim 2 can you get 3G/4g access to sim 2 ?
Thank you very much again.

The Moto X Pure manual shows dual sim capability. Wonder if that is the case or if its just a mistake in the manual? Top left corner of the manual clearly states "Moto X Pure".

I've read that the Sprint sims are different from other carriers in the thread about how easy it will be to activate this device. Apparently the sims are different for different devices, and the only phone that uses the same sim is the HTC One M9. From what I've read you will need to go into a Sprint store to activate unless you are coming from the M9.
I went to the Sprint store and they gave me a nano sim ....to call in and insert once my Moto X arrives. No problems
They said cutting my note 3 sim to Nano size would not work.
The Sim Holder on the Moto X Style (Pure) holds (1) Sim and (1) SD card, but also has non removable card (Fixed in Place) for a 2nd SIM pre installed.

Just in case anyone's still hoping, a Motorola forum admin who has a Pure Edition answered some questions on the forums there, he said the US version of the phone doesn't have dual sims. On this page: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/e570e4be47.
Will the EU version maybe get Dual Sim?
I wonder if by putting a dual Sim tray in the US phone the functionality would work.
I remember reading there's only one international version of this phone, so would it work?

Checked the moto x play forum and they have been able to enable the dual sim in non dual sim versions of the phone by flashing the rom from the dual sim version!
the brazilian version is dual sim. so maybe a flash and it will work! im not buying one until i know its dual sim. !
if you logon to motorola's brazilian webby and read the spec it says:
SIM card
Intelligent Dual-Chip
Nano SIM
but the bands are:
Networks
LTE cat. 4 (up to 150Mbps)
WCDMA
GSM / EDGE
Bands
GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS / HSPA + (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz)
4G LTE (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 17, 28)
not too sure it will work dual sim in UK

I thought so too. However when I went to my provider, Three UK, to get a nano sim... they just cut my old micro sim from a s4 to nano size with no problems (well, except he had to sandpaper it a bit more to fit).
In India, the Moto X Style (same as the Pure Edition) comes with a tray that holds two nano sims as well as a microSD card on the reverse side. Appears to work well, though only one of the sims is allowed to have access to 4G data.

Any updates to this ?
Has anyone found a dual sim tray for sell? I would be willing to try, including flashing another ROM, just to see if it will work.
Want to be able to use dual SIM to combine my work cell number and personal.

Jio SIM will have its data working fine in all LTE devices. But to make voice calls, you need VoLTE support.
Honor is rolling out VoLTE update for its devices in phased manner. Honor 5X got it now.

Try choosing Jio as network operator manually by going to Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Operators.
If you're still not getting network just dial a code*#*#4636#*#*?*then turn off the radio and set LTE only for your jio sim and again turn on radio and reboot your device.

Just now noticed that Honor 6 H60-L04 does support only Band 3 LTE.
JIO doesn't have Band 3 LTE license for 4 Telecom circles.
You might have been in any of those Telecom circles I think.

According to this list people in Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh (West) who are using Honor 6 can't use JIO SIM as Band 3 is not supported there.
Thank you Vsriram....

Is there any possibility that huawei could provide support for Band 3 in future updates..?

Band 3 support is related to hardware. So Huawei can't update it.
However if JIO gets that band in your region, you might get it. Unless that happens, im sorry to say that you can't use your JIO SIM in your Honor 6.
Oh That really is a bad news..
Honor 6 supports only Band 3 LTE. But Honor 6 Plus supports Band 40 LTE. So 6 Plus users won't have any problems in using JIO.
Why I can't use jio in my Honor 8...Whenever I search for network it's said no network access..
mine is honor 6x bought from middle east. i can use data on jio sim in india but no volte no lte means slow data speed and i have to use jio4gvoice app for calling. at the same time the same model released in india has all these supported. so i think a software update might overcome this issue.. or i am wrong??

S8 Duos

Any info regarding the Duos version of S8 ?
Is it going to be released at the same time with the single sim ?
Is going to be an Hybrid (SDcard or second SIM) or a full dual SIM )+ sdcard ????
Thanks
Can any one confirm if sim2 is 2G Only? (when you have a s8 Duos in your hand )
The model number SM-G955FD denotes that Samsung would launch the dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy S8 Plus in India. The device is expected to feature a 6.2-inch curved Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution, an Exynos 8895 or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, iris as well as fingerprint scanners, and a USB Type-C port.

Recently, from my experience in the European, Middle Eastern and Asian versions, unless its locked or sold by any telecom company, its always a dual sim. Like the s7 and rest his soul note6 (and all A and C series).. Best way for you when its released is to buy it online from one of the top online sellers in any of these regions, and they are alot. Personally never seen a single sim version from Samsung in the last year or 2 in these regions.. Funny enough, US market is what gets the single sim always..
No, in Western Europe, it's only single sim unfortunately. We also have to buy from ebay resellers to find dual sim version. However, I'm not sure I want to spend that much money to buy a phone on ebay with limited support & warranty (the phone coming from a different region)

Check it out! (single-sim and dual-sim models)

Galaxy S8+ Plus - All models:

Dual-Sim version is hybrid slot
Best regards
We will have to do the simcard glued on the sd card hack again then. I might even recycle the one I have got in my S7 edge dual sim
So if the hybrid tray is the same that on the S7 edge we will be able to get 2 simcards + 256gb sd card

I agree with you. I did not think the limited warranty was a big deal until I recieved a phone with a defect. As nice as it is to have a dual sim and not have to carry 2 phones, I will not be buying out of country again.

Agree too. I love my dual sim S7Edge. But I don't root anymore, and I want it to be local.
Bought 2 phones from Amazon, both went wrong, I didn't even know they were from abroad. One from Brazil, one from France. They wouldn't honour the warranty and I was £70 out of pocket both times.
Do love duos though! Just wish they would do it in the UK.

Dual sim by default?
Nope. You have to order the DUOS version. I ordered mine on ebay from UAE last week.
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
The UAE and Indian version of S8/S8+ are dual sim variants. 1st slot is SIM only, while the 2nd slot is a hybrid, where you can decide to insert either a SIM card or a MicroSD card.
Both the SIMs will be 4G (Dual 4G), unlike the S7 edge which was 4G+2G.
And no, there will not be a Duos branding on the backside of the Indian Variant, while the UAE variants do have the branding.
They are being sold online.. Only the 955FD models are dual sim. Middle East gets dual sim by default (only choice).. Go to any online shopping store (based in uae that ships overseas) and you can buy one easily.. I recommend mike&smith or mygsm (add Dubai or UAE to the Google search for the local stores results and contact them)..
Yes in Morocco we got dual SIM as well by default I was surprised when they handed me the box and read FD instead of the usual F we get

I have my S8 duo from Dubai since Saturday. You can only have one SIM as 4G whilst the other is 3G.

Whether it's right or not, who knows.

Oh, my bad then. I was misinformed. But, even 4G+3G is good for me.

Can you please confirm this? I'm in the US and 2G has been shutdown by one of my carriers. So when I switch data to the first SIM, it forces my second SIM into 2G and I get no reception. If the standby SIM on the S8 is 3G, and not 2G, that would resolve the issue for me.

Second one is definitely 3G on my phone. I am attempting to attach a screenshot for the first time so if it works you will see it.

Not getting LTE on T-Mobile

I purchased an unlocked S10+ from eBay (SM-G9750) that had an origin from Asia. It had the Snapdragon chipset so I thought it would be the same model, but I'm not getting 4G LTE on my phone. My carrier is T-Mobile.
After doing some research, I believe I don't have access to 2 networks bands (71 and another 16(?)). Is there anything I can do to, "fix" the phone so I can have LTE?
Try flashing the tmobile firmware.
Did you make sure the APN setting is set for tmobile?

I have the same phone and I'm getting 4G connectivity on T mobile. I'm in NYC and I'm connecting to bands 4, 5 and 12 typically. My speeds are significantly lower than my S7 because carrier aggregation is not enabled.
Are you in a rural area? I've heard that T mobile uses the 600mhz band 71 (which this phone is missing) for rural LTE coverage.
Type *#2263# in your dialer to see was which.bands your phone supports, I think it support T-Mobile. Also try *#77467# to pull up IMS settings and enable what you can under IMS Service Switch.

I had tried that yesterday, but got a, "Connection problem or invalid MMI code." I tried 77467 and I got the same error also.
Is there a setting I don't have enabled or need to change so I can use those codes?

Unfortunately not.. The T-Mobile CSC firmware is only available for the US models (G975U and G975U1).
G9750 is intended for South America, China and Hong Kong.
Although you only miss support for B71, so in theory LTE should work just fine since the G9750 supports other T-Mobile bands like Bands 2, 4 and 12.
Do you have another T-Mobile phone to test with to see if you get LTE in your area?

A new feature with the S10+ is that all the US carriers' firmware is embedded and automatically loaded up depending on the carrier SIM card inserted. What's the story on the SIM card you are using? I just swapped in the one from my Galaxy S7 and everything but carrier aggregation worked right out of the box (including WIFI calling, VoLTE and Samsung Pay). I suspect you may be able to fix this if you get a properly provisioned SIM.

Those codes don't work on mine either. *#0011# will let you see what 4G towers you are connecting to (run speed test app while you are looking). Signal spy or LTE discovery app are helpful too.

I don't know, these codes were working fine for me. Try this, download the Google dialer apk (Google the Google dialer port) and then use the code *#*#4636*#*#. You'll have to set it up as your main dialer app and enable permissions. Then try to see if you can configure it like my phone.

I've actually been with T-Mobile for a very long time and this sim is the same one I used in my HTC-M8, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8 all of which had LTE, no problem.
I ran the Google speed test, and I'm consistently getting 10 - 15 MBPS. I'm not sure what it was before, but it's noticeably slower than my S8.
I will try getting the Google dialer and try a couple of the other codes mentioned. Thanks for all the suggestions thus far, everyone!
UPDATE:
Google Dialer didn't work either
Any update on this? I just bought a G975U1 unlocked, and my data seems to be very slow with exceptionally high latency. I was wondering if the problem was the lack of carrier aggregation, but that shouldn't cause high latency, should it? Any reason not to flash the carrier firmware? I'm a little confused on that, actually -- if the S10+ pre-loads the carrier firmware based on the sim, why wouldn't carrier aggregation be part of that?

I don't think the current "U" firmware brand switches and downloads the carrier firmwares.

I was unable to get my phone to work on bands 2 and 4. Anytime I connected to those two bands it never would work. Finally I had to send it in. It's a hardware problem (in my case)
