[Q/A] Will someone be porting N - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Will someone port Android N beta from Nexus 6P to our OnePlus Two?

We still don't have Official stable Marshmallow so it's imposible to have it now and wait that the stable N comes that Cyanogen Team work for CyanogenMod 14, too bad we don't have CyanogenOS on our OnePlus 2 #LuckyOPOuser

Just wait for stable n out, porting a preview is just a waste of time, when source is release someone will do

There isn't even N source code.

CyanogenMod

Do you guys think cyanogen will eventually add this phone to its official supported devices?
Coming from a Nexus 5 with endless rom development It'd be a shame if this phone didn't see as much. Especially since it has such potential
No I don't think that oneplus two will get official cyanogen support, as oneplus dropped cyanogen and started using there own OxygenOs. In fact, I think that even future devices from oneplus will also never get official cyanogen.
So, unfortunately we will need to stay at unofficial builds only.
Hit thanks If I helped!!!

yes cm13 will be officially available soon! And you are wrong ! one plus had a bad breakup with cyanogen but theirs a diiference between how people work on cynogenos and cyanogenmod !It depends on the devolepers of each community on how they work on devolepment on a particular device but one plus two devolepment is insane so cm13 is on the way and if u are still concerned look at the devs of HTC 826 they made thier device get official support and dont worry as far as i know the devolpement for this device will be booming shortly !And theirs already a thread on CM 13 !
Hope that your words come true. But still I don't think so that cm13 will be available OFFICIALLY.

lol bro if they get unofficial builds perhaps in a week ..then tell ME why wont they make it official after a month !what one plus one had is the cyanogen os and not cyanogenmod !To make a device official in cyanogenmod u have to have good devolpment for a particular device and the works for cm13 is already started for op2 !Check out cm12.1 thread garak is working on cm13 and threres another thread called cm13
As i understand, in order to get an official support from cyanogen to our device there must be unofficial CM build, witch can be sent to CM team for a review. If it passes, has most things working, then they add it to their device tree and officially supports it. In other words, anyone there can take CM vendor and framework codebase and then go and start adding the code necessary to make CM work properly on OPT device. When developer gets far enough along, he can then submit that code back to CM for inclusion into CM's github. If that code passes the checks that the CM team has, then the CM team will merge that code into its own device tree and add official support for that device.
Also there are chance of CM team taking this step by their selves .. but there is probably no hope for that. So the only hope is Grarak
This information is found in the official CM forum so i doubt it is false.

Android n, and custom roms!

Seing android n just got out, would be able to port it to our device? Using cm13, as base rom? And what about sailfish os?
It would be interesting, but I don't thing someone will do this, its a preview.

No source code till like June-July and we don't even have an vanilla AOSP build yet to even act as a base for some Frankenstein action.

I'm waiting for miui. Android N won't be available to anything else than nexus before source release.
Men, CM 13 just came out with all features supported (LAF/Fingerprint) and you already ask for something new. Come on, please.
I think that the priority now should be get a stable cyanogenmod 13.

It would be better to port vanilla M and prepare an AOSP tree. From there collaborations can happen to speed it up and make our device even future proof and next can be enhanced to further builds of android. Having a bootable vanilla M will grant a working ramdisk and such instead of Frankenstein build which is hard to be a daily driver

It needs to be ported to our device first. If I remember correctly, there's been a few devs that tried getting CM 13 to work properly on the Idol 3 and it didn't become stable enough for a release. Hopefully in time.
unjustified dev made CM13 just for preview, they concentrate to make the 12.1 build solid stable and then they will proceed to make the CM13.
we have to get the idol 3 officially supported by CM. hoping!!!

when CM14 will be release for OnePlus 2

CyanogenMod have to finish their work on the source, after that a oneplus2 build will be up very soon. theoretical we could build pure AOSP for it right now but without caf commits it will be very hard to manage to get everything working. or even to build ...
So i guess the first N rom will be Cyanogen Mod based, you can check the github from cyanogenmod to follow up their development. They already pushed alot and it wont take long to see first builds.
Work is going on right now to bring CM14 to the OP2 but official CM14 may be about a month or longer
When it's ready to be releases

I hope this time it wont be any delay for CAF and Fingerprint drivers to develop!
It would take 2-3 months.

caf is already working on it.. and no need to develop new fingerprint drivers (only oneplus can to improve readings and speed and stability of fingerprint scanner).. since marshmallow fingerprint scanners are natively supported by android so it is too in nougat and cm14.. old fingerprint drivers will work on cm14 like on cm13 as well

What about a Cyanogen 14 build for our beloved A6K+ ?!

Recently, many older phones got the Cyanogen 14 build ROMs. Even the ancient Nexus 4 got the updated build. Is there someone who can manage to port the rom to our equally capable device?
i've already started to grab the sources from github although its still in staging phase (incomplete sources yet) . Devs will start looking if our device blobs is compatible with N or not .
So maybe soon or maybe never
