yeah, I bought mine during 2015 and used a lot, at 2016 I got a used Galaxy S5, but then I got used Moto Z at start of 2018 and gave Galaxy S5 to my dad, and now battery is dead (and everyone complains how bad it is) and screen was already broken and **** so I got back to E4 for now... it's a great phone when you don't clog it with bull**** apps like Messenger and such. I'm aiming to get Galaxy J5 2017 when and if E4 won't be enough. It's a good budget phone, too bad it never got Lolipop

Hmm let me see. Look what I found in Galaxy 3 Development forum. See here.
I would advice you to read everything in that link and then post.
not at all surprised, everyone knew this.
Nothing new there. I think almost everybody here knows this.
We dont need one. As we have great developers here ;-)

Even galaxy fit is getting gingerbread but why galaxy 3 don't get it?
We're getting 2.3.4 via Cyanogenmod so please help Sebastian!
But cynogenmod will take time to be stable with all working. Atleast another 2-3 months looking up on the progress. No offence just saying it.

galaxy fit was launched with 2.2 and our g3 with 2.1 so we got our 2.2 and fit will get their 2.3
what samsung does is it ignores its low budget phones and gives them one ****TY BUGGY UPDATE to keep our mouths shut.

hi
to my knowledge In India the G 3 is end of life as per the talk i had at the samsung show room at Bangalore so not surprised that we wont get off update
but why worry we have some great developers here im a 1000% sure they will find out a way to get it for us.
HTC tattoo is a far less powerful phone and im running 2.3.3 & with every thing working on it Yes camera, blue tooth, wifi,GPRS, everything working fine
& iv been using it for more than one month (the phones in India are only 2G)
so for us it should not be a problem its just a question of time that's all

Galaxy fit is new. They have to upgrade it at least once. From froyo to GB.

Got tired of waiting for this ****ty OEM to release sources not upgrade their phones.
Good bye Gionee first and last phone.
Sold the phone and got a G2.
Thanks a lot for all the dev's who tried their best to get root and other little dev this phone has which a cheap ass OEM like Gionee Doesn't Deserve.

16 gb version I assume? And how much had you paid for it before? 24? And going to g2 is a downgrade right? I mean it was released at the time of n4..
Sent from my E7
32 gig i got it for 26.5 sold it for 21 since i got G2 for 22.
I don't see it being a downgrade at all.
It has equally good screen
Much MUCH better battery life
Arguably better Camera ( please don't mention front facing cam i never use im not a narcissistic chick )
Ram i honestly never saw the need for 3GB
Ergonomically G2 destroys the E7
Hi Fi Audio ( I Acutally listen to a lot of music the sole reason i own a Shure pair of ear buds )
Both run same CPU
MOST IMPORTANTLY developer support G2 has plenty Gionee sucks [mod edit: Please watch your language] in this department they dont even releases sources.
It will be july or august before kit kat is out and this month end google will most probably introduce new version of android which u can forget about on E7. for atleast anotehr 8 to 10 months.
I come from Nexus S , G Nex, Nexus 4 and instead of 5 i bought Gionee thinking its hardware is great and OEM seems decent i can atleast get dev support sadly i was wrong.

Post all information about Note PRO getting or not Android 6.0 Marshmallow here!

Hi everyone! I created this thread to collect any info about getting a Marshmallow update on our beloved Note PRO.
Did Sammy say anything about it?
Greetings!
Boy that would be nice for it to be updated to 6.x but I'm not holding my breath. I read an article that said our tablets are considered old and outdated as the came out Feb 2014... Nice.
FYI just updated Nexus 7 to 6.0 and it's from 2013.

Considering the tablet is less than two years old, and Samsung has a pretty good track record of providing OS updates during the first 2 years, I'd say chances are good. But, it'll probably be next fall when the "N" release is ready to drop. haha
With that said, the one factor that I think works against the Note Pro is the fact that it probably didn't sell very many units. It was incredibly expensive, and most people simply didn't want a tablet that big.
Time will tell.
I doubt it we haven't even got lollipop yet so the chance of marshmallow is 0%

Well, I got the OTA update to Lollipop (5.0) two weeks ago. I am in Poland.
So IF we'll get the 6.0, it will be probably muuuch later than anyone else. My Nexus 6 hasn't got it yet.

I'm not sure what you mean, I'm on 5.0.2 right now, which is lollipop. The only feature I care about on Android M is Doze. My tablet drain about 20% overnight or when not in use for a day and I feel like Doze can bring that down to 5% or less so it's comparable to Ipad's standby time. I've tried Greenify and other similar "sleep" applications and they end up not saving any battery.
Idk our hardware is quite similer to Note3 hardware which wont get M !!
Just dont get your hopes so high guys since this company wont listen or even care about us loyal customers !
Trust me i've been in a situation like this before with my Note2.
Anyway i don't use my tablet as a social media device as they are the most reason to drain battery so quickly especially viber also turn off location completly.
So i really dont care about google so called doze or whatever sorcery they keep throwing at us as some marketing s**t !!!

If you are sure that there is no app eating your power, I'm pretty sure that you have a defective battery that you should consider to substitute.

Still on 4.4.2 here in the UK so no we still havnt recieved lollipop yet and 2 weeks ago Andriod L was realesed a year ago most google devices are using marshmallow now If you take Samsungs time scale as a factor google will have upgraded all there machines to 8.0 by the time we would recieve 6.0, so like I said I doubt very much they will upgrade an old tablet that didn't sell well to Marshmallow. If by some miracle they do, it will be 2 years out of date so again no real point to.
I've been researching about an update for my Verizon p905v for several days now because I switched to T-Mobile a few months ago and they don't sell this tablet so I didn't trade it in. I just added it to my account and put T-Mobile's sum card in it but the tablet won't recognize the sun card and still thinks it's a Verizon tablet, but that's off topic, just said that to explain why I couldn't update through the settings. Anyway, through Kies I was able to update to 5.1.1 a week or two ago. I read somewhere why researching this that the p905v WILL be getting the 6.0 update! It listed a few Samsung devices and the Note Pro 12.2 was the last one on the list to be getting it. I'll try to find where I read that and post a link here if I can find it again. FYI, you can't judge the update or timeline by comparing to any Nexus device, that site also said all Nexus devices will get the update first since they are Google devices. Hope this helps answer some questions, again I'll post a link to that site if I can find it.

Verizon is CDMA and TMobile is GSM. The two are not compatible. It will not work unless the tablet has both radios. Not sure if the note PRO has a GSM radio. If it does, then you will need to turn the radio on. Probably by loading a custom ROM.

if you check firmwares and countries , you will see that the 100% samsung is not updated while the "sponsorshiped" one is updated...
i discovered that with a generic 4g sm-p905 that is "registered" south-africa-unlocked...
Maybe some people will gonna cook M rom as custom rom. Anyway, i beleive, not many people know what is new in new version of apps, iOS, they just want be one step back. "New version of .........." they click next, next, like a secreteary in offce with computer.
i think you mean a word i created , in french , that is "MesFessesAussi" , translatable by " My A$$ Too" . that sounds like M$Office and targets those dumb&lazy Girls...cool joke ;']
the mobile is my first one and mostly for GPS , but i never take again any G8gle-Android or samsung product .
this is pure **** for os and drivers updates , plus warranty . samsung being the biggest mother****er i have ever seen , it forces users to buy its products with its os where no drivers can be added ...and all is using free code....
G8gle being not "aware" of the way its "os" is used and delivered to customers...sucks as well as the chinese or even more...[ i understand why chromeos had no success...]
they are BANKSTER$ , turning something well working and free into a private and :silly: thingies..
to sum it : android by samsung is like posting a reply here with "g8gle chrome" : IMPOSSIBLE
when it come to check the "Robotologie"...image Verification pop-up not showing....Verification expired...
android - g8gle$a$$ung too : bunch of has-been
posted with FireFox...the one that made browsing the web free : POSSIBLE...
beside that : anyone uses the addblock-browser made for android$ ?
addblock , a nice extention that makes browsing " free of g8gle"$ add$ "....

I just bought the galaxy note pro 12.2, barely used for a good price. Even thought it's old, it should do what I need. I would hope to get at least 3 years out of it and the update to marshmallow would be nice. This is my first samsung tablet. I had previous iPad. Is it not likely Samsung will update this tablet? What's the big difference between lollipop and marshmallow anyway? Maybe it won't really matter.
Everyone tells me I should buy the iPad pro instead because of newer tech.
I think that the only way we will get Marshmallow for this tablet is if a dev cooks it up for us. I'm also wondering why there is no news of a new version of this table (or any Note tablet) in the works. I'm wondering if Samsung has abandoned the Note series of tablets. If they have that would be a shame. I use an iPhone, but the handwriting and multi-screen are of importance to me (so no change to an iPad).

I too am wondering why there isn't news of a new tablet. I was in the market for one, and didn't want another iPad. I have an iMac as my computer, but don't like apples phones so have galaxy note 3 and thought my iPad was limited in function so wanted a galaxy tab. I had to buy used. I know with CES being around the corner, if there is something in the works, they should announce it then. But I couldn't wait. I hope to at least get 2 years out of the note pro.
if nothing else, maybe someone will make a cyanogenmod 13 rom for it. that would be really nice.
Techradar marshmellow
"Android Marshmallow update: when can I get it?"
They mention the note pro.
I think it is a good idea for Samsung to do this asap as the market for large screen stylus powered devices is growing quickly with the iPad pro and tablet 4. The already with the note pro have a foothold device in that sector so they can launch off the back of it. Keeping the note pro relevant is important for now.
BTW, I've used both the iPad pro and windows 4 tab at work and still prefer the Note pro 12.2 even though it is a year old and less powerful. At the price point of the Note pro it is a fantastic device.

Android O?

Hello peeps! I just bought an S7 Edge (had an S6) and I love it so far.
I have one simple question: do you guys think we'll get Android O? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question.
Thanks!
most likely, yes. samsung usually bring 2 major updates to their devices

Considering the S6 came with Lollipop and received Marshmallow and Nougat, I highly doubt the S7 (it came with Marshmallow) won't receive O at some point.

Knowing Samsung, then I believe we will see android O on our devices in January February . Because for Sammy it always takes 6 months or more to update their devices, and they will now be focusing on the s8 not on the s7.

Anyone getting updates on 64GB USA?

I'm confused about what update is out and for which phone model? My device has been acting a bit finicky at times...
I have build NPN25.137-33
Please provide link to update if ones available to flash manually (non rooted).
BTW anyone notice that retailers are already discontinuing carrying this phone?
I think the G5S is literally about to be released. Seems a bit odd. Also kind of sucks that this phone will be outdated so quickly...
I'm on day 7 of owning this... Should I return it?
I'd like to know myself!
I'm happy so far, owned for a month, nice upgrade from my moto e.
There is a TWRP flashable of the -67 update, works great on the US 64gig version

The new Motorola phone is the Moto Z Play 2, not a G Series phone. Z Series is more expensive (guessing $150 more), but with better features. Also not yet available for retail sale.

Yes...saw all that. Nothing about an actual release date yet though. All still rumors and leaks. I was more focused on something available now, which was what the tangent discussion was about. Sorry for any confusion on my part.
No worries. I do think it'll be released soon. None of the best buys in my city are carrying any version. That's over 10 best buys. So if put money on it releasing this month.
I decided to go ahead and return this though. Kind of frustrated that it only has a January security patch, and still 7.0, despite it being released in February....
Got a cool deal on Swappa for $280 on a mint Axon 7 today. They've been getting regular updates, and have a great dev community!
Specs are much better too. I do love the fingerprint navigation on this Moto though. I'll miss that!
I just got mine at my local Costco the week before last, and their return policy is 60 days, so...
Crazy how this phone has only been out for a few months and Moto is already putting out a new phone. That's way to fast.
Back to the original question, has anyone in the US got the over the air update? I always root but I'm not ready yet. I'm hoping the new update-67 will fix some bugs and update the security.
