lumia 950XL and T-Mobile band 12 - 700 band - Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL

My phone: Lumia 950XL.
I ust got off the phone with T-Mobile tech support and they tell me my phone doesn't support band 12 which is the 700 band that breaks through concrete. Anyone have this phone with good T-Mobile LTE service. I found that my phone does have band 12 by typing ##3282# on my phone dialer then sending the call. It shows this band in a long list of other bands. The band is also check marked showing that it's active.

As I understand it, the issue isn't whether the phone is capable of using LTE Band 12 (700 MHz), but T-Mobile's requirement that the phone support VoLTE as they are deploying Band 12 as LTE-only and in areas where they don't have alternate UMTS support on other bands that the phone can drop into for calls. Unfortunately, VoLTE and WiFi Calling implementations are carrier-specific in the US and Microsoft doesn't seem to be able to support either on non-branded phones. Similar issues exist for me with my 950 XL on AT&T - no HDVoice (VoLTE) or WiFi Calling available.

D802 - LTE Band 40(2300 Mhz) is available, but not used?

Hi,
I've been going through a lot of posts for this, but I couldn't find a definite answer. Even though Band 40 is supported by D802's hardware(and also shown in the LTE bands in the hidden menu), used along with the Airtel 4G Sim Card(Karnataka, India), I still can't use it because it is disabled by software/firmware? Also, I can see LTE in the Network selection menu. How is it that I can see the Band for LTE(2300 Mhz) used by my carrier but can't use it??
Anybody able to explain this to me would be of great help!
Thanks!
- Amith
Never mind, I moved on to G4. On a side note, i couldn't get the 2300 Mhz band to work.

OP2 on LTE Band 28 - Any luck?

I am using my OP2 on Taiwan Mobile's LTE network, which uses Band 28. So far I have been unable to get any LTE connection established. Has anyone else had success on this LTE Band?

How can I enable lte band 17?

My phone can't connect to my current carrier LTE band. I have done some research and my carrier LTE Band is 17. The problem is that when I try to find how to enable it, it only appears solutions for previous models such as M9 or M8. Is there a way to enable LTE band 17 in this phone? (Also, my knowledge in this matter is low, but I my phone is rooted)

INFO For those who has frequent call drops on jio

For those who are saying that they are having frequent call drops when calling from jio this info may help you.
Jio works on 3 lte bands viz. 850Mhz, 1800 mhz and 2300mhz but volte calling only supported on 2300mhz band (maybe on 1800mhz also, I don't know about that). But higher frequency networks have low coverage area that's why for many regions jio network changes its frequency band automatically to lower frequency bands for better coverage due to which your call drops. To fix this you need to lock your network 4g band but most of the roms doesn't support band locking.

Hi,Jio volte calls work in all 3 bands. 850 band is used for volte call as first preference .if 850 band coverage not available or phone not supporting 850,volte traffic happens through 1800,2300 respectively.just for your info.

May be it's related to modem or something..Being a Jio nw engineer myself ,above mentioned details are true.
Lock your LTE network du b5 and b7 works for mi
All Custom ROM's have Issue with VoLTE..
You can't do anything.. Chill & Enjoy..

Unlock Bands is already possible

I have a ta-1083 with bands b7 and b28 blocked, I've searched in several places on google and still could not find something that can release these bands,
Has anyone with this problem been able to solve this problem?
I like the device, but it's already boring with this situation
Thank you all
No way. It's not going to happen. Quit wasting your time and buy another phone that has the bands you need.
Thanks for the answer, and this is very sad to read
6.1 plus supports all the bands. You can use this code *#*#4636#*#* to change bands and it works.

Yes, it runs on 4g, but in bands like b5 and b3, but these are not standard here in Brazil, the network with the largest coverage is b7 that runs at 2600mhz,
So it fluctuates a lot between bands and often loses the signal altogether
I've changed a lot in these settings, but it doesn't solve 100%

No, you don't know what a band is. You can't use the test menu to add additional LTE bands. Kindly refrain from posting this idiocy here.
I know what is LTE Bands. 6.1 Plus supports all the bands but the fact it is configured in such a way the user can't change it hence the network switches bands automatically.
The LTE Only option configure the network to the 4G but yes you don't have the option to lock a particular frequency unlike other stock Android devices.
I dont know about other countries but here in India I use Jio 4G with 6.1 Plus my phone locks into 850Mhz , 1800Mhz & 2300Mhz (Jio supports it) simultaneously depending upon the conditions in my location.
The Android one might have disabled advanced band locking (FDD & TDD) feature. I'm not talking idiocy here.

You are not talking about the same thing. The OP of this thread wanted to unlock bands that this phone doesn't normally support. We're not talking about "band locking".
Oh yeah this doesn't supports 2600Mhz
