Galaxy S5 At&t (G900A) variant rooting - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been trying to root my Galaxy S5 At&t for the past month, to no avail. I have tried to use the towelroot method by downgrading from 5.1.1 to 4.4, but I am getting a Complete(Write) Failed message every time I try to downgrade, does this no longer worker for this phone? Other methods I have tried have not worked either, and i am beginning to wonder if this variant can even be rooted. Is this the case? I would be very grateful for a push in the right direction, as I have been searching the forum for anything that could help me.
There may be root methods that I do not know about, so there might be a possibility I haven't been looking in the right places. Thank you.

Rooting AT&T S5?

So I just got my S5 from AT&T and I would like to root it. I've seen maybe two or three methods that either used towelroot or odin? I was just hoping someone on here could point me in the right direction towards a root that wont brick my phone. Post a link to the guide?
Just FYI, there is a specific forum for AT&T S5.

[Q] Verizon S4 Update

have a Verizon S4 on the NC5 firmware and it's rooted. Actually 3 phones, 2 of 3 are rooted. Today they all got the software update but the one without root is the only one that updated. The other two phones that are rooted give an error in the middle of updating, and "unrooting" in SuperSU doesn't help either. Please help.

Working root method for sm-g870a?

Hi. I just got an S5 Active (sm-g870a)...Running 4.4.4. I seem to be having trouble figuring out which root method works for this, and I don't want to risk bricking my phone by trying a method that I'm not sure about. I tried TowelRoot on its own, and it didn't work. Can I get a little nudge in the right direction, please? I'm just looking for a guide for the method that's confirmed to work for my phone.
Wrong forum. This is for the Verizon S5. Either find one for the Active or go to the one for the S5 on the carrier you got it from.

How to ROOT Samsung Galaxy SM-G900V running Marshmallow 6.0.1

Hi, I am having some trouble rooting my device and a friend suggested I try here. : ) I have tried using several programs on my own, which probably wasn't the best way to go about it since I'm not particularly technically savvy. My attempts to use KingRoot, Kingo ROOT, and towelroot were futile. They all resulted in a similar message being that my device isn't supported or something like that. I am hoping there is some other quick and simple way to root my phone without a custom recovery or anything along those lines. I don't know about all these sorts of things and don't want to try anything too complex. I also want to try and root my phone without voiding my warranty if possible, but I know it's not likely. I am hoping someone can help me find an easy solution. It would be much appreciated. : )

i am also looking for a method to gain root, unlock bootloader, debloat, and unlock network.
unfortunately it seems developers have not bothered to work on android 6.0+ marshmallow for the galaxy s5.
after all the phone is now almost 3 years old now and they're likely spending their efforts to work on newer phones and devices.
Already tried CF-AutoRoot? its in developing thread, works in mm
The Verizon S5 has its own dedicated forum. Check there.
