Recent apps view force closes upon entering. Any fix? - Sprint HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Every time I enter my recent apps menu it force closes. Every. Single. Time. I have no what could be causing this, and the only way to make it NOT do that is to quickly slide the app windows down a bit upon opening the recent apps menu, but that works inconsistently.
Help?
EDIT: SOLVED! Disable the preinstalled Google app if you're having this issue. Thank me later.

Market force closes during app install

sorry for any typos I'm on my phone
I flashed fresh 2d today for about the 4th time. I have never had any issues before now. when I download any app from the market it completes the download, but when it goes to install the market force closes.
I don't recall every seeing anyone complain about this, but then again I can't search from the xda app to prove it.
anyone else have this? or a fix?

Go to Settings - Applications - Market and uninstall updates. Worked for me.
Try this: Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Market -> Uninstall Updates

I had this problem today. I think its the actual market having problems not our phone. But what seemed to fix it was I restored back to 1.5 rom (not sure if that mattered) and then wiped and restored back to my previous nandroid of 2.1.
flawless, thanks guys. any clue what caused it other than the obvious update?

question is, where did the update come from? Wasnt having a problem yet but uninstalled just in case.

GPS won't turn off

Hey everyone,
I have the AT&T 32GB GS4. For the past few days, I have been experiencing odd battery drainages during the second half of the day. I was looking at the battery section of the settings menu, and when I turn off GPS through the notifications bar (when I'm done navigating), the GPS is showing that it is still running. It doesn't turn off until I restart the phone. Also, Google Services is taking up 40%+ of the battery and it hasn't done that ever. I've had this phone for a month.
Any ideas?

could be location service related or weather app related. freeze all apps you DL'd and check again.
That didn't work. I turned off all apps and cleared data for Maps. Also, none of my apps are allowed to use my location.

try doing a factory reset from the settings menu. Just backup everything you want to keep onto your sd card
Do you have yahoo weather installed

[Q] Can't stop play apps from auto updating

Over the last 3 days, Google play has been updating my apps even though I I have always had auto-update apps unchecked since I've gotten the phone.
How do I stop this? Is there another setting somewhere?
Did you go into settings when your in Google play and turn auto update off?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Yes. Its not checked.
Go into settings, apps, Google play and clear cache and data

Mine doesn't have a check box. You have to click the option and select do not auto update apps. Mine was set to auto update over WiFi.

Sorry not to be clear. I selected never update in the same place.
I cleared the cache and went back in and it was set to always update.
I set it back to never. may apps are now all up to date. I'll let you know what happens when one is due.

Q- Restoring a hidden app.

I hid an app I thought I was not going to use but now need it here is the problem.
Want to use Samsung Knox to sandbox suspicious apps.
It does NOT show up in hidden apps, or list in my app drawer.
It does show up in the ALL tab in the app manager. It is not force closed and force close is grayed out (disabled). It is not using any resources.
I did soft reset. And a hard reset did not restore settings. App did not come back. To the app. Drawer.
Not rooted running stock. 4.3 with the update MJ7

Can't turn off 'ok google'

This has been causing me problems for weeks now.
In the Google settings I have all voice settings turned off but the Google search bar still pops up with 'say ok google' and it still works even on other pages.
It's as though it's completely ignoring the settings and stuck on the from any page setting.
Anyone have any possible ideas for fixes?

Try to clear data of Google Now if possible.
Otherwise try to uninstall Google Now and re-install the latest version
I've tried both of those as a first step and it still happens.
Really quite annoying as I'm pretty sure it's causing considerable battery drain.
Only thing I can do for now is deny the microphone permission for google now but this also prevents android auto from using voice commands. And it still says it's activated on the search bar
