Unlocked t mobile s 7 edge on different carrier - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

I have an s7 edge I just got unlocked from t mobile. I know i can use it internationally but I wanted to know if if i inserted my sprint sim card, would I get service on it. I see that the lte bands match but I can't find more info on it. (3g bands.

No, Sprint also uses CDMA. T-mobile phones only support GSM.

When i insert a sprint sim card I get the choice to register for sprint. But it says unable. What am I doing wrong? Also what bands exactly.?

the tmobile phone will not work on Sprint. It uses completely different antenna. It could work in AT&T though.

It picks up sprint's LTE bands, which are GSM but you cannot register because as said before, sprint uses CDMA for voice

Only UK or US too?

I'm confused.....
is the hero available in the USA or is it just for the UK?
do tmobile stores have it?
I think T-Mobile in the USA just released the HTC Magic, I doubt there going to release the Hero in USA right now as that would really kill or atleast limit the turnover for the HTC Magic.
You can import one to the USA but you wouldn't get 3G working.
Or you could just wait for it to come to the USA, may be a long wait though.
it will come to the USA soon

will the sprint branded one work on tmobile though?
hmmm
Sprint uses CDMA whereas T-Mobile is GSM. Any version for Sprint would have to have a completely different radio, so it's unlikely to work on T-Mobile.

yeah i read that on engadget as well. man sprint is lucky to be getting such great devices like the pre and now hero... almost makes me wanna switch to get both... at&t needs to step it up and get something. even the tp2 is goin to tmo first... iphone is blah at this point

I want to buy a S4 But dont know what model to get

Hey guys, im looking for a Galaxy S4 and i came across two version L720T and L720. I live in KC where sprint offers 4G LTE in my area. my question is what version should i get? they are like the same price on Swappa. i plan on rooting it, installing custom roms and maybe unlocking sim for international use.
The L720T is the tri-band version, so it has LTE and Sprint Spark. As far as I know, it's harder to unlock and has a bit less rom support. I know the L720 can be unlocked for both domestic and International use.

The T version has spark so could give a boost on signal. Both can be unlocked and used domestically and internationally.
You can use any asop rom with the T version as well. You might loose spark. But not LTE.

One more big thing to consider that may or may not be a deal breaker is that the T version with spark takes away any simultaneous voice and data. With the non-spark version you can use LTE data while on voice.
Unless you have spark in your area save yourself some money and go with the L720... I had the L720T for a week and for the most part they are the same (if you aren't in a spark area).

Using this phone on AT&T without Data Plan

So as far as I'm aware:
If you have an AT&T branded smartphone, or any other that's in their system, and you insert a SIM that doesn't have a data plan, ATT will just add one for you.
(Because it's in their ToS that you need to have one blah blah blah.)
But if it's a non-ATT phone, it's hit or miss on whether they can detect your phone or not, and the risk is that they eventually might.
Now, has anyone that has unlocked their S4 through the methods posted here use their phone on AT&T without a data plan and tell me if they didn't eventually get detected?
I checked my IMEI with AT&T in two ways:
AT&T Unlock Page
As you would guess, it said go to your own carrier to unlock it,

}
AT&T BYOD Page
Putting my IMEI in just throws an error and asks to type it in again
I have a friend that uses a flip phone and I told her she could use my S4 since it's just sitting around being used as a TV remote, but she doesn't want to pay for data and I don't want to confuse her by telling her to switch to GoPhone, since her phone is on her parents account and stuff.

If your provider uses SIMs for CDMA (CSIM) or (R-UIM) the Sprint S4 is not going to work.

That doesn't help him unfortunately. Asking about CDMA and not GSM networks.

AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge Doesn't Show LTE?

I just got my AT&T S7 edge variant and it network type only says 4g (rarely 4g+). Is this now the equivalent of LTE on this phone? I'm used to 4g meaning HSPA and seeing either 4g-LTE or just LTE (on the iPhone) for true LTE. When I look in settings->status it says it's connected to LTE but I'm getting mediocre download speeds so I thought I'd check.
try changing your IPv6 setting to 4/6 or just 4.

I can't seem to find that setting on the AT&T variant.

Didn't work. SIM card status says LTE so can I assume it's actually using LTE and AT&T decided to have a dumb network type description?
I was trying to fix your download speeds not changing the icon
