can't unlock bootloader on Verizon HTC 10? - Verizon HTC 10 Questions & Answers

There is no OEM unlocking option in my Developer settings. There is also no fastboot option in either the bootloader or download modes. I'm not sure what options I have to unlocking and rooting my phone. I hope there is something I can do, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

only @beaups and @jcase can unlock the bootloader. go to theroot.ninja

I totally thought this was a troll when I saw the username JustinChase asking about unlocking a phone we just unlocked (my monkier is justincase or jcase) then I saw the join date

Just buy the US unlocked version. There's a $100 code so it's cheaper than the Verizon version, it'll have better ROM support and it has more LTE bands than the Verizon variant.
The only downside is that we'll have to wait for devs to integrate IMS and the other components for Advanced Calling to work properly but it definitely can be done. Xdabbeb used to integrate all the needed components into his G3/G2 hybrid ROM that had an international base.

ha, no, not trolling, just didn't see your news before I posted this. I've been around for a long time, just been away from HTC for several years.
I'm glad to hear you guys got it unlocked, and am looking forward to sending you some money for Sunshine once ready.

Fyi: That code expired May 4.
Is there a new code?

Yeah just use HTC1011. I just ordered the unlocked version using it.

SIM Unlock MyTouch (Use of foreign sim cards)

I logged in today and was surprised to see these three new threads about this already well known topic. So I'm going to try to put an end to this by merging all of the "Help me unlock my MyTouch" topics into this one thread and stickie it so that I can just move future posts directly to the trash. So be warned, any future posts regarding SIM unlocking WILL be removed!
The very first rule of the XDA-Developers forum is to search before posting.
So I figure that if this is stickied then there really isn't any excuse whatsoever.
While I'm doing all of this I want to clearify something for all of those that are interested in unlocking their MyTouch.
Currently (as of July 2010) there is no solution for unlocking your MyTouch without first acquiring the Subsidy key for your device.
There are no hardware hacks, software installations or anything like that.
You really only have four options.
Contact your carrier and request it. Most carriers have minimum requirements to be met before requesting. Check with your carrier for additional information.
Use of third party services (go ahead post your success in this thread).
Use of an overlay card. (I have not personally verified this method)
Purchase the device already unlocked.
If you have a successful result then post it in this thread and I'll update this post accordingly.
Please note that myself, other members or the XDA-Developers do not take responsiblity for failed efforts, damage to your device, money wasted or anything else that might make you upset.
Any new posts regarding anything already discussed in this topic will be subject to deletion without warning!
As stated above, I merged three three new topics and moved them to this thread.
I have tried several service and got a code that did not work. (another gave me another set and still didnt work). All had to go the the htc master database to get the code
The phone works on t-mobile but i want to use it in all countries.

Hi All,
I had used the search and found out that all the questions regrading Tmobile HTC mytouch sim unlock were refferd to pay-sites.
Is this true? did non of the forum members das an answer?
and if so, What is the most reliable site for this ?
I got a TMobile htc Mytouch 3g and I can not use it.
(I noticed that other members had said that all TMobile's MyTouch are sim free, well mine is not).
Please help.

You could use something like a TurboSIM. It's a small film-like device that goes between the SIM card and the reader in your phone, forcing your phone to accept it. I don't know if all/any work on android/sapphire so you'd need to get a second opinion before ordering.
The only HTC Sapphires that come unlocked are the 'Google ION'/ADP2 devices, so yes you'll need to buy an unlock code. If you've been with tmo for more than 3 months phone them and say you're going out of the country, they should give you the code. If you're looking for a reputable company for unlock codes, go on eBay, that way you know the testimonials and feedback is real.
I've used SIM unlock services from ebay. Cost about $10 and was fairly painless. Had to try a few different sellers since the others couldn't find the code. HTC master key had to be used in order to get the code for mine, that's why they charged $10 instead of the usual $2-3.
Even at $10, I found it to be a lot cheaper and effective than other website prices.

does 3g work if its unlocked? im thinking of giving the phone to my gf because i dont think its worth it to sell.
also, i just canceled my tmo service and its expiring at the end of this month. had tmo for almost a year. do you think theyll give me the subsidy key? and last question, is the subsidy key the imei or is that the real unlock code for it?
thanks

3G will probably not work for another carrier if that's what you're asking.
If you are no longer a T-Mo subscriber then they will probably not give you the key.
You submit the imei to the unlock service (carrier or whoever) and they use that to look up your devices specific unlock key. Takes anywhere from a few minutes to a few days to get it though.
thanks for the info. sucks that i cant get the code from tmo. i should of gotten it before i told them to cancel my service. ill probably just use this phone for backup or something. i dont feel like i want to part with my first android device lol
root / upgrade locks me back?
I have an HTC Magic from Rogers Canada that I got unlocked as soon as I bought it. I need it unlocked since I am living over 5000 miles away from Canada. Everything is all well and nice now, working on the local carrier 3g and all.
I have been considering rooting the phone or maybe installing an unofficial ROM for a while now, but I never ended up doing it for fear my phone might get locked back to Rogers, rendering it useless for me.
What are the risks of this actually happening? Is the phone unlock a permanent operation, or are there any.types of upgrade or root that could bring the lock back?
Thanks!

Once you unlock the phone for other carriers it stays unlocked regardless of rom.
LOL
Anyway, There was a reason for my posting.
I ended up getting the unlock code from T-mobile and it is the exact number that I got from the unlocking service which did not work in the first place.
So I am wondering if the problem now lies in the fact that I rooted the phone and installed 3rd party rom before I unlocked the phone.

I can only agree. I don't see how that would be possible since the subsidy has nothing to do with the type of spl, radio version or rom.
the unlock code has nothing to be with rom... spl or radio only imei

Sounds like something that I had just said.
Success!!
Website: www.unlock2go.com
Cost: $20 USD
Delivery time: instant (even on a Saturday evening at 8:30pm)
Important note: I selected "T-Mobile" as the carrier, and then MyTouch 3G as the manufacturer, NOT HTC. Not sure if this matters, but thought I'd pass along that info.
Good luck!
Edit: So far we have 2 confirmed success cases. Anyone else that uses it please post up - would be nice to confirm reliability for everyone.
Hey Thanks for the site I used them and received the code less than thirty mins
I can also confirm unlock2go.com works! for Mytouch 3g
Sent them my payment 19-08-2010 at 11:40 pm EST and got the code by 11:50 pm !!!! all I can say is wow, it now recognizes my SIM in Colombia.
Tip: I used promo code unlock30 and got $2 off (paid $18).
Help! now that the phone is unlocked I'm stuck because I've got no data plan, and I can't find the way to go to Wifi, or even make a regular call. All the guides I find assume the phone is already working, but my menu, or home keys don't do nothing I get back to the green robot screen.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Very nice! Glad to see this being offered. Everyone, keep in mind: the larger this number grows, the more potential DEVS will be interested in finding the solution.
I have a couple recommendations. @jodhaaa , it would be a good idea to check this thread regularly, and update the op with the usernames of all who have pledged, how much, and a running total of the full amount that will be offered to whomever finds the solution.
It may also be a good idea to offer a "side-bounty" for those wishing for domestic (U.S.) unlock as well.....for instance, "xdamember123" might say "I pledge $20 for international unlock, and an additional $10 for domestic unlock".
Great effort, OP - this may go a long way in developing the solution.
Good Luck, everyone :good:

I think that what most of us want is a domestic unlock. You can always acheive international by calling Sprint. Thats the only reason these phones also support GSM. AND if they cannot gain an international unlock thru Sprint. They shouldnt have had Sprint as carrier in the first place.

You have to keep in mind that MANY people bought the Sprint variant not knowing they couldn't simply purchase a "GSM Unlock Code" from an online merchant, due to the nature of Sprint using OMADM for the unlock....and since they are neither a Sprint Customer, nor CAN be a Sprint customer....they won't ever get unlocked by Sprint.
Such was the case for the Moto X: in fact, the majority of the "pledgers" were from outside the U.S.
Once could certainly say "they should have done their research, first", but that's not what this is about. I DO, however, agree that the domestic solution is appealing to many...

I think I've seen someone make that statement before.....I'm very curious how you arrive at this logic? What leads you to believe it will be "easy" once the international solution is found? I would argue that the international unlock *should* be MUCH easier to find, since we have actual internationally-unlocked phones to compare NVDATA with...

Yeah I guess your right. I forgot that we here in the US arent the only ones with the problem. Sadly each year we have less and less people in the Sprint forums on any phone. Sprint is getting pretty old in the game. Honestly we would need more support from outside of XDA to get the bounty more on an interest level.
Now i have to find out how to set up a paypal account.

Currently no one is focusing on a domestic unlock. Everyone is trying to do the international unlock first so no one has to contact sprint to do so.
Once an international unlock is found/developed/understood/gifted it allows the phone to at least recognize other sims. After the international unlock is performed they can focus on domestic.

A few questions for the TMobile Variant

I'm pretty much sold on the thing, since I can unload my 3T at the same time--but a few questions first.
1: Can anyone test Samsung gear watches with the phone? I've read Samsung pay only works if you sideload the gear app, but would prefer it working 100% since I plan on staying unrooted.
2: VPNs have caused some issues on past carrier phones, basically using hotspot data rather than regular data. Can anyone just run a quick test to make sure this isn't the case? Mostly for use of Blokada.
3: Does RCS work? I know TMobile was rolling it out by device, but it seems this would be the perfect time to add it with the 6T.
Thanks!

1. Setup my gear s3 and it works perfectly. Everything is sideloaded as you install from the galaxy Wearable app.
2. This device already seems to have a private VPN set up as default, didn't touch it but it gives you the option to add.
3. RCS I'm assuming does not work and depends on tmobile actually activating them over an OTA update.

It's a TMobile issue not OP, sadly. No idea why they're doing it in stages and by phone.
My TMobile version does not have the hold power button down to activate Google Assistant feature. Is everyone else missing this?
I got some tmobile variant questions aswell?
Im from México but my brother is on vacation in USS.. in thinking on buying the oneplus but im a little confused about unlocking the phone... Some people say i have to use it with tmobile for 40 days to be able to unlock it even if i make the full pay for it.. othe people say you can unlock it the same day you full pay for it with the tmobile app..
So, can someone confirm who is correct with this because i wont like my brother to buy me the phone and then cant use it because of locked sim..
Also another question.. do you know if later we could install the international firmware on the tmobile version and get the updates directly from oneplus??

YMMV,only way you'll know for certain is trying it yourself. My recent experiences w/Customer Care lead me to believe they'll accommodate you.
2) Int'l ROM flashing onto a T-Mobile variant.
No,that is not possible. Perhaps some aftermarket ROM will be available later, but,no ,not at this time, official,or,otherwise.
Updates will come from T-Mobile.
If you're gonna buy it outright, why bother w/T-Mobile anyway, just skip the hassles & go for the unlocked version.....................

Because TMobile will allow you to buy the phone for 280 out the door with an approved trade-in device.
This is my current situation....I like to tinker and flash ROMs/mods. Hopefully if I end up with the Tmo version, I'll still be able to flash custom ROMs once development gets going for the device.

Well it looks like I'll be ordering from OP directly. It seems if I pay 280 and get the device I'll still pay 12 dollars and change a month until I hit the 570 mark to have the device "paid in full." I guess the 300 dollars goes towards savings on the bill. I read comments on here saying even if you buy the phone from TMobile, in order to "buy it outright" you still have to pay the full price of the phone. I need an unlocked bootloader and root so I guess I'll just pay OP directly.

Yeah it's really only a good deal if you're already or going to stay a T-Mobile customer. You wait a couple of months for the billing discount to kick in and you pay off your device in full. After that you'll still get your discount every month and you'll be able to unlock your sim card and unlock your bootloader.

I am a TMobile customer and plan on staying with them. Flashing the latest updates is kind of a big deal to me....I've been a Nexus/pixel user for years and am not use to being locked down by carrier restrictions when it comes to unlocking devices. I just don't feel like dealing with the clutter and hassle of having sift through the carrier's rules before doing what I want with my phone.

I agree, and I'm the exact same way. I've been on T-Mobile forever and have had a Nexus device since the Nexus 4. I had a Galaxy 4 for work and hated it.
This is my first carrier device pretty much ever. Before the Nexus 4 I was using the HTC HD2 and before that I was using Palm Windows and Palm OS devices.
Pretty much the way I see it is if this is too much of a pain, I can always sell it and go with my original plan of getting a used Pixel 2 XL on swappa.
I'll give it a chance. The price was just too good to pass. And I'm fairly confident in OP's laziness on locking down this phone. I have a feeling it will be pretty simple to swap over to the international rom, and if not, at most we'll have to wait a day for someone to repack the official rom removing the modem and/or bootloader. And if not, on to swappa it goes.

Unlocking LGV35

Hello XDA friends,
I recently bought a LGV35 AT&T with bad imei, I'm not form USA so I was thinking I was able to unlock it for carriers outside USA, I have an octopus box but unfortunately my box doesnt support that model yet, I tried to contact with a few unlock providers but unfortunately again they dont have support for that model neither, so I want to ask you that if there is a way to unlock it or I will have to wait until my box have an update to unlock that type of model.
Best regards.:fingers-crossed:

I need a solution too. Thanks guys:fingers-crossed:
Me too.. Unfortunatley its been decided that there will never be any unlocking, rooting, sim unlocking or any ROMs for this phone. v30 and v40 get there own dedicated forums.. while v35 still gets none. The higher ups in the XDA world put a hex on the V35....They dont want any development.
Hey guys just a quick update, I already tried from different unlock services with no luck seems like they already don´t have access to unlock codes or something like that.

Yes I'm optimistic
Because they told me that every week they receive new model for unlock, so maybe we are in an unrealease list (for me from AT&T) so maybe the OEM are not able yet to release the codes.
But don't be very very optimisitc because this a new a phone so the unlock service could be in a few weeks or maybe in months, but be positive!

Ok! I'll be positive :fingers-crossed:
So you have a box eventually to unlock the phone too? If it will be suppurted earlier than the codes could you do it in a remote way (via internet)? I can pay for it.
Ive been trying to get an unlock code for 3 months

octoplus supports it but damage the efs partitcion , and gc pro i think it need to be rooted wich now is impossible i actually think they made the unlock by box pretty much impossible no download mode at all , no access to fastboot , even adb commands are worthless, the first time i see no way to unlock an lg phone from at&t from unlock code resellers , first time also that i see that the server for this phone went down since in lauch i unlocked 6 purchasing the unlock code for 5 bucks each

Unlocking codes providers are now working :good::fingers-crossed:
The price was right so I purchased an ATT v35 NIB on ebay from a reputable seller. It was sim locked to att. The ATT route to unlock would have involved a 90 day service committment, expensive and inconvenient. Found codes2unlock.com via the Howard forum, https://www.howardforums.com/showth...lock-AT-amp-T-USA-LG-V35-ThinQ-by-Unlock-Code.
They turned around a sim unlock code in less than 12 hr for $15. Worked like a charm. With that out of the way, I proceeded to flash the latest ULM (Fi) rom to at least partially free the phone. Would be great to have root as an option but I just don't have the will to play cat and mouse with Magisk to be able to use Google Pay.

Just want to make sure i'm understanding this correctly. I have an ATT LG v35 that i'm currently using with a cricket sim. If I pay for the unlock code I will be able to flash the Fi rom? Could you point me to the resources to download the correct rom? It's been a while since i've tried any of this.
I don't know if lgup checks carrier lock state before flashing a kdz. One thing for sure is that there are no kdz's for ATT roms. You won't be able to go back to ATT stock. Unlocking it before crossing that rubicon seemed like a good idea to avoid a future unlocking hassle so that the phone can be used with another carrier, Verizon in my case.
Here's the link to the Fi kdz.
https://lg-firmwares.com/downloads-file/19020/V350ULM10i_00_NAO_US_OP_0221.kdz
Read up on cross flashing in this forum as well as the ones on the G7 and v30.

Be sure to do a back up prior to doing the rom. One nice feature of 'restoral' is that you can select which apps/data to restore (meaning you can leave unwanted apps behind). I just did it today and am very happy. Even the authenticator app is working as before. Some logins might need to be redone, but it's worth it.
Solution:
Only buy unlocked phones
I just purchased an AT&T LG V35, had it unlocked through unlocklocks.com for $18.50 , turn around was about 3 hours and code worked with no problems. Hope that helps!

tmobile oneplus 6t unlocking

The OnePlus 6t from T-Mobile USA is a grate phone don't get me wrong but OnePlus should have nto let them lock the bootloader. Come one the process to get it unlocked is bad you have to get the Sim card slot unlocked by TMobile then go to OnePlus com to unlock the bootloader and I did that and it did not work to get the code from OnePlus it's been like 2 weeks for me waiting from them and calling to get it resolved. So I'm righting this to ask everyone to pleas help me out by pleas giving me a there unlock code after they use it on there phone so I can install havoc os 2.0 on the op 6t. What in and getting this code from OnePlus does not work and they say it's going to come but never does for me.
I'm going to guess that the unlock code is phone-specific and tied to the IMEI. I seriously doubt that OnePlus and T-Mobile would have accepted a bootloader unlock that could be duplicated so easily.
Your best bet for recourse here is to continue to hold OnePlus and T-Mobile accountable for the delays. I got my code in right around a week and that seems to be the norm from other reports. If T-Mobile has granted your bootloader unlock through the proper channels, and if you really have been waiting an abnormally long time, there should be no reason why they are taking longer in your case. If you have to, take to social media like Twitter and the forums where the issue can be seen by others who might be considering purchasing the phone through T-Mobile and who might be swayed to go another route.
The codes are unique to each phone; someone else's code won't help you.
Why not return the phone and buy direct from OnePlus?

Can't return the phone because I have had the phone for two months
Looks like you have to wait, then. Sorry!
I don't understand why anybody interested in modding their phone would by from T-Mo, since the need to go through the unlock process was well documented.
You could also sell it and buy a new one from OnePlus but of course you will take a financial hit.
Good luck!

The resion I bought the phone from them is because the way it connects to the network is better then when it was bought from oneplus. I know it's the same phone and antenna but it's just something that makes the phone work better and I think it's because it's certified buy TMobile. Don't know thou

What? This makes literally no sense. It's the same phone just different software an international model will work 100% the same on T-Mobile. And dude spell check is your friend that is a mess.

Not really man sorry to burst your bubble but OnePlus sead that had to change things in the phone to work 100% on the TMobile network. Would not say what they did.

Link? Because I'm certain this is not true otherwise people would not be able to use international on T-Mobile or any other non T-Mobile phone on T-Mobile.
So much garbage in this thread. I'm on the TMO version, running international firmware, and it's flawless. Not a single problem getting sim unlock and bootloader unlock (not to mention that my phone is NOT paid off), and there are many others with the same experience. Do better. It's not that hard.
I got my phone Sim unlocked within 2 days of getting in on November 1st. Didn't have to make any payments on it or anything. Soon as I was Sim unlocked I submitted my request for unlock token. By 11/8 I was Sim and bootloader unlocked. Been running international firmware since. Haven't looked back. International firmware SO much better then what tmo provides.
If it's been two weeks since sending to OP I'd be on them asking for a status and a reason for the lengthy delay. OP has stated the unlock token is 7 day waiting period and I got mine right at day 7. I'd hound them for a reason and request a unlock token asap

I am a trucker (READ: DRIVE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY!) who had the TMO OOS 3 WEEKS before sitting down to swap it away! Have been with the unbranded one now for the best part of another 3 weeks, and all i can say that all that "optimized" mumbo jumbo works to a degree, from what i can tell from this dude!
