Super high battery use on CM13 (from NFC?) - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My battery loses charge super quick and I have no idea why, it was never this bad on my S4. On the latest nightly of CM13, this is what I get from BetterBatteryStats and the Battery menu in settings respectively.

I've disabled NFC and even uninstalled the app with titanium backup (after backing it up of course). BetterBatteryStats is also telling me 98% of the time the screen is off my device is awake

I'm guessing you have kltedv (SM-G900I) device then you will have to flash kltedv specific version of cm13 here.

Alright, will do, thanks.
edit: I've also renamed the Nfc apk in system/app/nfc or whatever the folder is called (has nfc in title) and that's seemed to help immensely, but I will also flash this new rom, thanks! also, how'd you know I was on a G900I?

@343N I've same device, it have different nfc chip then klte thats why it causes battery drain but when I flash klte roms I usually delete nfc folder completely when flashing with help of built-in file manager from recovery solves that problem. Anyway just flash kltedv official build then no need to mess around with nfc issues anymore.

[Q] Is there a GPS Hardware fix for spica?

So i read the 'CORRECT Hardware GPS Fix' for samsung SGS, and i thought: This should be possible for the spica as well..
The SGS contact:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Considering that the gps contact on SGS looks the same as on the spica, it should work just bending it.. I've tried gently bending it up just a bit, with no progress. I'm thinking of opening up the spica bad boy again and bend it up some more.
Has anyone else tried this? Does anyone know if this is possible?
Unfortunately GPS behaviour on Spica is related with baseband and rild libs (mostly libsec-ril.so), for some combos of baseband and libsec-ril GPS works fine, for some it barely works.
I didn't try hardware fixes, but XXIL2 baseband with XXJF2 libsec-ril.so makes GPS working fine (up to 8 sattelites fixed, fix time under 1 minute without clear sky)
Thanks gen_scheisskopf,
So basically, i should re-flash my phone to XXIL2 baseband and use the libsec-ril.so (which u put in system\lib, right?)
EDIT: Ah ok i noticed there's a zip file which u install in recovery mode after you've flashed the phone to the correct baseband version.
thx,

I can't say if xxil2 baseband will work for you for sure, be prepared to experiment with others also.
Look at here : forum.samdroid.net/f28/working-gps-finally-we-have-2-1-2-2-a-3880/
I tried it and it's working!

It looks like you tried to flash a phone.apk or a dialer app that isn't stock. You didn't say what phone version you have (your signature mentions GT-I9505?) This forum is for the I337 variants. My suggestion would be to try and find the same version of firmware / ROM that you are currently using and see if you can get the correct phone.apk or dialer apk out of it and try to restore that way. Depending on you phone model and firmware, you might be able to restore with a nandroid (if you have one). If your bootloader is locked you might need to restore via ODIN and the proper firmware. Most thing you do will run the risk of wiping your data and contacts so back everything up first before you try anything to be on the safe side. If you don't understand the things I mentioned or if you don't know where to find something I suggest you use the forum's search function to find the information and tools you need. Good luck.
Phone
see two symbols of battery, you were trying or tried to do for that to happen, and if you can tell the model of your phone, greetings

[S6 DUOS G920FD] Dual-SIM support for most stock-based ROMs

Hi guys,
Just figured out how to fix dual-sim support in stock-based roms like XtreStoLite.
Tested with G920FD with both a 3G UK sim and a 4G China sim (roaming in UK)inserted.
I can't predict the result if you apply it on any other dual-sim models.
See my post under XtreStoLite thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62114023&postcount=4229
Don't do it if you are completely new to rooting / flashing / modifying ROMs.
I'm not responsible for any damage caused by it.
Do it AT YOUR OWN RISK.
@edgarf28 is also testing it. Hopefully it will be added in next build of XtreStoLite.

Works great on Xtreolite ROM, one thing to watch for the way I unzipped the folders mentioned they did not have the correct permissions. Look at other folders in system/app and copy the pemission settings, reboot and all is good

Glad to hear that.
Yes, the permission should be set according to the other files in the same folder. Zipping and copying (via windows OS) will lose the permission properties.
Please give Ram links and which version?
(2.1a-V.2.1 )
So I was wondering if Sim 1 would still work without doing the rom modifications?
I have G920FD 64gb
I am running WETA rom without any problem.
I already tried XtreStoLite_ROM_v2.3_Deo-Mod-Edition and SM-G920F_WanamLite.XXU2QOI7.Deodexed.V2.8
All of them worked 100% for the dual sim function without any error.
The only problem with WETA rom that I can not recived or send any file using wifi direct I do not know why???

Over 4000% Battery?

Hi XDA Community,
So I just tried updating my ROM (BlissPop) and it was really buggy so I restored a backup of my old version - before I updated.
Everything was working fine but my battery indicator is odd, it is a full circle battery with a + sign in the middle, nothing else. Naturally, I find this a bit odd. So I go to my battery settings and see that it has over 4000% battery left?! No idea what has happened or why it is doing this.
Stuff I've tried:
-Wiping cache
-Wiping dalvik
-Reflashing (dirty flash)
-Draining the battery completely
-Deleting batterystats.bin
-Fully charging it (I hope, can't actually tell if its fully charged or not since it always displays over 4000% and fully charged anyway).
Yet none have solved the problem.
Here is a screenshot if you would like one:

}
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance :good:
EDIT: Reflashed ROM and working fine now. Could a Mod please close this thread
Do you have a custom kernel? Did you flash Chainfires modified boot.img? Dirty flash Blisspop again and see if it fixes it.

Yep thanks. Reflashed BlissPop and some other mods/tweaks (V4A, Hellscore kernel) and fixed the problem! Thanks.

NFC Issues - Doesn't turn on

Hi,
I have an issue with my OP5. I'm rooted with Magisk and I tried to use Card Emulator Pro app.
I think the app changed the NFC configuration of the OP5 and I can't turn on the NFC.
I tried to restore to NFC configuration back to default but it doesn't change.
Does anyone here has the same issue ?
Here is my log with the error

Hey, i just fixed it by downgrading it to a earlier version. It must have something to do with the latest version firmware. try with 5.0 it worked for me. https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-t3628190 download it from here. It should fix it but it will perform a factory reset. but no media data will be lost. once downloaded place it on the phone and head to settings->update_then little ... menu and local file.
hope this helps. I use google pay alot so a fix is a must, thought it was hardware issue
