Solution for home button and fingerprint dead - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just found a solution for home button and*fingerprint sensor not working.
Those*who are facing this problem should recover their device with oneplus 2 recovery tool. This will solve their problem 100% unless it is a real hardware issue.*
I was having same*problem and the *#808# test also gave results of "FAIL" . But i was pretty sure*that this is not a hardware issue. I was also facing the problem of 1+ logo which get stuck after any flashing whether it*is a rom, kernal or any other zip file. This*solution will guarantee solve everyone's problem.

I Hardbricked my i9500 :(

Hello XDA,
So yesterday i installed the pac-man ROM 4.4.2 on my Galaxy S4 (i9500) and all was going well. Then i tried installing Unicon ( a utility which manages your icon packs). I have installed this app on every android phone i have ever had and every time it asks me to go into xposed and enable it like it usually does.
So i go into xposed and i click on install/update. It shows a dialog saying that (some file name i don't remember) is already there and continue if you are feeling adventurous. Being the stupid person I am i continued.
After switching off the device, the screen is absolutely black and does not even go to download mode or recovery mode.
Please help me I'm almost crying as the warranty just ran out and it wont get replaced or anything. I don't even have the money to buy a new phone right now.
Please tell me what to do to fix this i don't care about the data or anything i just want my phone to be fixed please help me..........:crying:

Not an expert but try to buy an USB JIG that force your phone into download mode. At that point, you can flash a recovery or a rom directly via odin. :good:
Well, it has nothing to do with Xposed. You can almost impossible brick it that way.
Did you try a simple thing like taking the battery out?
Yes I tried removing everything I could including battery Sim card SD card. Still not working. some people have said that in hard brick their devices give out red led but my phone doesn't even do that. Its just like a brick. Somebody pls help me ;( my dad doesn't let me use the credit card online and I can't find the USB jig anywhere near me so I can't get it.

Your phone is not bricked. The way you descriped is almost impossible to brick it.
You got a faulty battery or a hardware failure.
Hi,
I and a friend had a similar issue to yours. Our S4 was very slow and we took out the battery, now it doesn't even show Samsung Splash Screen (same issue, different context). Unfortunately, JIG won't do the work there (I tried).
While my friend sent it to warranty I didn't have mine because it was bought in US and I'm from Brazil. It looks like a viable way of solving it is using a tool called JTAG, I'm waiting for a friend to bring to my town his JTAG to see if it works, I'll report here the results, I recommend you searching for it .

You sure you'll look for the JTAG device? The Jtag box cost around $210.

Hi,
JIG will only work
if you can get at least in Splash Screen, if it doesn't give any life signal, then I get that you can't get into Splash Screen, therefore, JIG won't do the work.
Here's a video showing exactly the same problem I had and a JTAG repair

Hi,
There are people who can do the JTAG work, they charge some money but fix it. Even though it is way cheaper than getting a JTAG interface . Buying a device would be way more expensive, and I think it wouldn't be really worth, like you mentioned .

Guys, I like the talk about JTAG, but I don't think it will do him any good.
His device is not bricked. Xposed only installs in /system/bin (if I am not mistaken). Thus it's impossible to brick it that way. It does nothing to the bootloader, download mode or any other partition.
He has clearly a faulty battery or an other hardware failure. He just had bad luck imo.
Are you sure about that? I'll try changing the battery.... But as I said I can't enter download mode or recovery ,both are symptoms of a hard brick....
And any idea where I can find a person with JTAG in Gurgaon(India)?

Note 3 N9005 GPS locking problem.

Hello friends. How are you all?
In last 2, 3 weeks I have been experimenting with my note 3. I was on stock rooted, TWRP recovery installed and debloated lollipop. Everything was working extra smooth and flawlessly until one day I went out. I noticed that my phone was unable to lock on a gps satellite.
I searched the forum and tried different codes provided in different threads to fix my note 3 but all went useless. After trying everything I flashed the rom using odin. But still no luck.
Please help me to get this issue resolved. I have not flashed modem yet. I thought before flashing something that I don't understand, I must ask experts on this forum to help me.
GPS is hardware or Kernel .
Even after downgrading to kitkat GPS is not working. I still remember that It used to work perfectly on note 3 without any issues.
And no help from XDA yet.

If you try different kernels and roms and still have no luck.
You might have to open the back cover and follow this video.
If you are a novice, please take your phone to a repair shop.
The above procedure voids your warranty, you have been warned.,
Now Proceed.

Cheers.
Thank me if it works.
No I have not done anything other than downgrading and trying ussd codes. Right now I m on kitkat. Can you suggest me what modem should I Flash?

Believe I found bootloader unlock, need a tester ASAP

Hello again! I bricked my device's download mode the other day, but have still been been trying NON STOP with @ schizzoid to get root/unlocked bootloader, and I believe that we got it. I need a tester because we both bricked our device, please reply to this if you can test! I will upload the TOT to Google Drive and all you have to do is flash it with LGUP.
PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS IF YOU CAN TEST
Good Luck! I would test but i need my phone for work purposes.
I would do this if i had a computer. Just wondering for more info, is there any possible bricking or danger in flashing the tot. Just think if people had more. Info that you might get someone to help. Believe me if i had a windows computer i would do it.

I have faced the same problem with my first Gen. When I went tracking the root of the issue, It came out that I tried and downgrade the bootloader of the device, which left it unusable. The last sort was to take it to RMA or get a local repair.

Almost half the price. Check if local shops could be of any help? They tend to cost less. But do check with RMA and ask them about the price and all.

The software is not working as before rooting

Why is it so hard to unlock the bootloader

I downloaded everything, but keep running into problems, such as adv cannot open, then after I Google for solutions and done it, another problem pops the fk
You should clearly state the specific problems you are experiencing if you actually want help.
Unlocking bootloader is actually the simplest . If you go to Htcdev.com, there they have step by step guide follow it and you will be done

Hey mate. If you need a hand doing this, I can help.
Follow these instructions & if you run into problems, write down exactly what errors etc you get and let me know. I've unlocked the bootloader on a few different HTC's.... Proceedure - https://www.hardreset.info/devices/htc/htc-u-ultra/faq/faq/bootloader-unlock-htc/
I'm also looking at getting one soon, so I can flash a GSI onto it.
You may also need this information when getting unlock code from htc dev website, choosing tour phone seems to have some stumped - https://forum.xda-developers.com/u-ultra/help/how-to-unlock-bootloaderhtc-website-htc-t3784483
So after I unlock my bootloader then I can flash twrp recovery onto my HTC u ultra? Is that how it all works? Thanks In advance!!!
