Simply Google with KangVIP Tools - Mate 8 General

Would everyone like to see my Simply Google integrated with KangVIP tools and xposed? Or should I leave it as is.

Firstly, I'd like to thank you for your great contributions
Secondly, I think combination of Simply Google and Kang VIP would be a step-forward

I just came up with a name for the new rom so I'll post it in a seperate thread. I should have a release in about 1-2 hours hopefully.

Whis would be great...

Well thanks thanks for your hard work.
If I may, what are the benefits of the Simply Google rom over Kangvip, considering anything related to apps can be installed/de-installed afterward ?

Is this b321?

In my new rom everything will be converted to the the en-US region so it's like having a Simply Google with KangVIP tools International version. When the roms are based off of stock, every custom rom is essentially the same. When you like to always have the latest updated system they make it easier to have what you want already included. I am thinking of merging Simply Google into the new rom with KangVIP tools and stopping the regular Simply Google altogether. I am getting rid of as many Huawei apps as I can in the new rom. I want it to stay with a stock Google look and feel. I was going to sell my Mate 8 but I decided to hang on to it as I like it as much as my Nexus 6P.

looking forward to what you put together in the future. glad you sticking around with your mate 8.

Maybe I'm lost at what steps to get me to get your b321 to install. First, do I need the 4.1 twrp to install the b321 simply google or can i use 4.0 twrp to install it? If so, that is where im stuck. It looks like i must flash the stock al10b321 firmware first by fastboot flashing my nxtl29 with the cust and other partitions from the al10 update.app. Looks like a long process that i dont want to go through just to install the new 4.1 twrp and b321 simply google. Is my thinking correct here to get the 4.1 twrp to install and b321 simply google? When i try to install twrp 4.1 over twrp 4.0, it simply hangs on reboot.

i think u need to install the new rom first, followed by the 4.1 twrp version... also, u dont have to reboot in between flashing. just do everything in one swoop in twrp before reboot

When you say 'new rom' do you mean stock al-10 rom or simply google(b321)? Is yours an al10 mate 8?
Anyone with a nxt-l29 flash this the way jbmc83 described and got it to boot and 4.1 twrp to work afterwards?

You need the 4.1 twrp to install any custom roms after you update to B321. I think the problem is you have an L29. You'll have to do the dload method to B321 first before you can flash any B321 roms and have the new 4.1 TWRP working. I'd wait until the B321 Internationl rom is released for your L29, then you can OTA or dload to that, then the new TWRP will work and you'll be able to flash any of the B321 roms.

I'll wait for the l29 b321. I've tried the dload with it and it seems that I cannot cross flash from l 29 to Al10.

Update question

Hey guys, a long time ago i unlocked bootloader of my ALE-21 5.0.1, rooted it, and installed twrp. Is there any way i can update to android 6 now? My mom has the exact same with me and she got the OTA. Thanks in advance =)
What's your full build number: ALE-L21CxxxBxxx - i.e what are the x's in bold? And from which region / country?

Extract the files...
Then put the update.app file in folder named dload and copy that to your local storage..
After that, power off your device and then hold vol+, vol-and power key for atleast 10 seconds..
Then, the phone should start in installation mode..
Note: Check the update.app file size.. If its gratee than 2GB them the above process should work. If its less than you can do it by OTA...

amangeek, being a rooted phone, I don't think that is a wise choice. Unroot first, & then perhaps yes.
----------------------
Anyway RautMike, if you have done as above & everything is fine - well, great.
If you haven't attempted yet, do as advised in these threads instead - similar situations, so apply the same principle:
How to upgrade Huawei P8 lite [rooted+twrp]
[P8Lite] Twrp + official update
I couldn't find the full version of C432B188 firmware to download, which is required to extract the recovery file(s) needed. So, if you cannot either, you can extract the necessary file(s) from B170 (one firmware before) - the full stock rom for B170 can be downloaded from here directly via Huawei's servers.

Did you not read the threads I posted? Just follow them - no TWRP needs to be used in those methods.
Doing it that way you'll lose root, so after updating to Marshmallow you will need to re-root by reinstalling TWRP (for Marshmallow) & SuperSu: TUTORIAL - Huawei P8 Lite Android 6.0 Marshmallow B574 Root

Yes, you're right - I forgot about that!
You can get it from here perhaps: Install TWRP Recovery, Backup Full System, Android Rooting and Recovery Back to Stock (works on both Android 5/6 + L21/L23 models)
If that doesn't work, a 'forced' update does apparently (could be risky though, so make a full nandroid backup with TWRP before attempting): [INTERESTING] Updating system while rooted
Also, according to the op, "When you install update by this method, you lose TWRP, root access and all what you have flashed by TWRP."
Alright, thanks, before i flash the stock recovery, how should i make an backup? I already have one of system that i made with twrp, is that enough?
Oh, anyways, all good Thank you very much, i just flashed the stock recovery with no problems, so happy lol, thanks again!

I can't update to android 6.0

I have just bought a Huawei P8 Lite Dual Sim (Build number: ALE-L21C432B210) and I've been trying to update it to Android 6 using the files provided on huawei's site. The problem is that every time I try I get an error screen that says Software Install Failed and it gives me a link to huawei's site (This link in particular: emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore [sorry I cant post any links yet]) I'm getting kinda desperate since I don't know if it's my build number or what (searching for it gave no results) and every guide I've found doesn't mention my B210 device. I am stuck on Huawei's terrible skin of 5.0.1 (EMUI 3.1). Please someone help me.

Let's take this from the start: I was on B204 (Lollipop). I was instructed to go to B170 and then update to B560.
Trying to go to B170 got me a "Software install failed" message, presumably because I had a greater version. So I downloaded the file for B560, crossed my fingers and did local update through settings. It worked. I was finally on Marshmallow. After that, the phone did an OTA to B574.
I'm not responsible if anything goes wrong, but I'm fairly confident what I did should work here. Good luck

Yes i have. So after downloading may different firmwares, i understand that solution and its work.
You get error "Software install failed" because huawei say to you that they dont have an update that supports my build precisely ALE-L21C432B210.
When you wipe all through twrp and put desirous firmware in your sd card and go to installation screen through combination of key vol up and down with power key, you can install whatever version you want,
because are you working clean install through huawei update screen, not an update.
I hope I have explained a little.
I made a mistake that I installed version for single sim and not for dual sim. But it when I get some time, but regardless of that, everything works just fine, and with mm 6 a got about 4:30-5h OST

[Guide downgrade from Nougat Beta]

As we all know Huawei released the nougat beta for honor 8 (for UK and India for now) and let's be honest. It's beautiful right? But not all features work just yet (yeah I talking about you guys) Bluetooth and NFC. I'm sure Huawei has a good reason why.
So many users both bootloader locked and unlocked may want to downgrade. So here's the procedures.
Bootloader Locked.
1. Download your Marshmallow package (for your region) my is NEE (B120)
2. Extract the zip in a folder called dload if it doesn't exist create it to the EXTERNALSD! Not the internal one!
3. Once done Power down the Phone and power it up while holding both Volume up and Down at the same Time. Now the downgrade Procedure should work*
*IF downgrade Procedure didn't work download another package because you most likely downloaded the wrong package.
4. Reboot into recovery and wipe DATA factory reset else it won't boot!
UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER.
Do the same procedure as locked bootloader to the step 3
4. Reboot into Fastboot and Re unlock your device. NOTE HOLD POWER DOWN AFTER YOU SELECTED YES! So it boot back to bootloader mode (fastboot)
5. Flash twrp recovery
7. Now you can either restore one of your previous backup or wipe your phone without wiping complete internal sd. I prefer restore previous backup so you won't have to setup your device again.
Hope this covers things up for all of you.
Regards

As we all know Huawei released the nougat beta for honor 8 (for UK and India for now) and let's be honest. It's beautiful right? But not all features work just yet (yeah I talking about you guys) Bluetooth and NFC. I'm sure Huawei has a good reason why.
So many users both bootloader locked and unlocked may want to downgrade. So here's the procedures.
Bootloader Locked.
1. Download your Marshmallow package (for your region) my is NEE (B120)
2. Extract the zip to the EXTERNALSD!
Regards

It didn't work for me. I tried to downgrade from the B320 version of the beta. I've downlaod the previous L04 mm version i had before getting the beta. I first tried to put the "update" zip in my sd card, it failed, then i extract the update zip on my desktop and put what i extract from the zip in my sd card and tried again. It still failed for the step 3. I would really like to be able to downgrade since the poor battery life from the beta. Any solutions?

You should pup the UPDATER.APP in a folder called dload on external sd

Stock recovery MM

Hi,
I'm on TWRP, I would like to flash the stock recovery for B560 (Marshmallow) in order to install an OTA update that have just appeared for me. Someone provide me with the file please.
You can find stock recovery in the UPDATE.APP for your device. Unzip it with Huawei update extractor. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454

Check this out!

Use the Huawei Update Extractor to extract the recovery.img from your UPDATE.APP file. Then just flash it using the adb command line and you should be good to go
Thanks guys for your help, I've updated my phone through OTA successfully
Just one question, does the same recovery work with all the builds?
I also would like to know why I'm still on B561 meanwhile there is plenty of users out there on B890 and B88x... I heared there is some people who got EMUI 4.1 already, is there anyway to get it? I'm on North Africa tho.

Yes, same recovery works... I've been using the same old Lollipop recovery till now...
If your didn't get OTA and would like to go to that build then you could always flash your way through.
You can get that too, EMUI 4.1, here the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8l...lution-b890-emui-4-1-dual-sim-t3496502/page10
But the project has been abandoned...
P.S. You'll need to have your bootloader unlocked to flash

Update from EMUI 4.1 to 5.*

Hi guys,
I would like to update my M3 BTV-DL09 from C100B010 to the firmware C100B302.
Now I have some questions:
- is the B302 still a beta build? If yes, does anyone know, when a final build is to be expected for Europe/Germany?
- I removed the updater app (thought I will not need it) and im rooted and Bootloader unlocked, so I cannot install the update.app container at the moment. Solution would be to flash stock Bootloader and then do it again via the secret code menu. Does anyone have the stock bootloader for B010 as flashable zip for TWRP?
I think you can extract files from update.app file, such as stock recovery...
I am on B302 and it seems to be official. At least that's what all pages with update tutorial say.
Only problem that I have is that bluetooth isn't working. I have no idea what to try.

I just ordered the 32gb version from Amazon and I am getting it Wednesday. I hope there is still development on this tablet. It looks to be a nice tablet. I don't think I will even need to Root it.

I updated my device to B302 just yesterday using firmware finder and OTA.
I think that for LTE version the latest build is B303 and the update is an official stable build and files are uploaded on official Huawei server.
The C100B302 it a BETA, the newer C100B303 also is a BETA.
All Huawei firmware came from OFFICIAL Huawei servers...
The "updater" app is only required to check for OTA updates. ALL the updates are then installed by the RECOVERY module that is often overwritten by TWRP.
NEVER rewrite flash partitions if you're not knowing what you are doing! Search for a tutorial on Android partitions and read it!!!
No theme app!
I just upstaged my M3 wifi model w09, to the B302 version, its bootloader is locked and not rooted.
The only problem now I have is that I can not use or change themes, bcuz the system Theme app is not available, as if it hasn't been installed!
Any solution now that I'm not rooted?

Yes it was two big files that I forced updated one after another. And yes I have the "system update" in my tablet settings if that's what you mean.
I even re-installed it and tried B301 as well, but the results were the same!

Use Firmware Finder to send Firmware to Huawei Updater. It will flash both files. Dload method did not work for me either, I had same issue.
You need to be on marshmallow to do the proper update.

ok, so which version do i install to get back to marshmallow?
Good question...i can't find the rollback firmware for US. That is what you need first.
You can find here Marshmallow Firmwares:
https://boycracked.com/2017/05/13/official-huawei-mediapad-m3-btv-w09-stock-rom-firmware/
Probably BTV-W09C128B003 is what you need. First you need the rollback package from Nougat.

that's the one i downloaded, and after downloading the file says it is for dl09 not w09.
http://consumer.huawei.com/de/support/tablets/mediapad_m3_8_de-sup.htm
You can find the rollback package here, for you tablet. However this is a European German page. I hope that the package is good for your device.

thank you for the assistance but the only rollback on that page is again specifically listed as btv-dl09, in fact it is the same identical file listed on boycracked.
You need to choose as device BTV-W09.

boy do i feel stupid, i see it now, thank you.
here is a direct link for anyone else needing a rollback on w09 from nougat to marshmallow.
http://download-c1.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=94469&version=380487&siteCode=de
don't worry about it being the German page, the included directions are all in English.
again,
thank you!
from what I've read, the rollback sets up the system to accept emui 4.1 updates, which are blocked after moving to emui 5.0 a second flash is required with the actual firmware. this is the direct link for the recommended firmware after the rollback.
