[GUIDE]SM-T710 6.0.1 Marshmallow Installation and fast DL link - Galaxy Tab S2 General

This guide has been made for sm-t710, but you can follow it for any model (t715, t810 and t815) by just using the right Odin flashable TWRP file and Odin flashable firmware file for your device.
Here you have the link(for sm-t710):
T710XXU2CPD9_T710BTU2CPD9_BTU.zip
Just downloaded from www.sammobile.com T710XXU2CPD9_T710BTU2CPD9_BTU/ and re-uploaded to MEGA.
Tested and working on my spanish sm-t710, in my case I had my device rooted and with TWRP, as well as a 5.1.1 Optimal Rom.
After following this instructions, somehow i didn't loose any personal data or installed aplication, so this guide will just update our device from lollipop rom to Marshmallow BUT we will loose root AND TWRP, just follow the guide to reinstall TWRP and root after update. If you didn't had root before following this guide, you can root the tab before of after it, but I recomend you to first install TWRP and backup personal data before following this guide.
Instructions:Requirements:->Root the tablet. (Recomended)
->Install TWRP (Recomended but I think it isn't needed)
->Enable USB Debugging on your tab.
->Make sure you have Samsung drivers installed on your PC.
->Download and extract the zip file to get the firmware file which is in .tar.md5 extension.
->Download and extrat Odin from here: Odin3_v3.10.7.zip
Installation:1->Turn off your tab and boot it into the Download Mode. To do this, turn off your device and then press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously for 2-3 seconds. When you see the warning screen with a yellow triangle sign, press the Volume Up/Down key to enter Download/Odin mode.
2->Download the required Odin.zip file and extract the file on your PC. You will get the Odin3_v3.10.7.exe file. Open it as the administrator to get to the Odin window.
3->Connect your Galaxy device to the computer using the USB cable.
4->When you connect the device, the ID: COM port on Odin will turn Blue. You’ll also see“Added!!” message to indicate successful connection. If Odin des not detect your tab, try to reinstall drivers, try another usb cable and another usb port.
5-> Check "AP" box and click on AP. A window will pop up, just go to the folder where you extracted the firmware and select T710XXU2CPD9_T710BTU2CPD9_HOME.tar.md5 file (name may vary according to device model)
6->Now Odin is checking MD5 and will freeze for a minute or so, but don't worry, just let Odin work.
7->Click on the "Options" section and make sure that only the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes are checked. (Do not, in any case, check Re-Partition box).
8->Now, click the Start button on Odin to begin firmware installation.
10->Once you get a PASS! message on Odin, your device will restart. It’s the green signal that indicates a successful installation.
11->Once our device restarts, you can disconect it.
12-> Enjoy Marshmallow :fingers-crossed: on our Tab s2 (First boot will last for some minutes, just be patient! )
TWRP installation:1->Download TWRP from this THREAD according to your device (Lollipop 5.X.X just works fine). Thanks to ashyx.
2->Flash with odin following steps 2 to 11 from above.
12->Enjoy Marshmallow with TWRP!
ROOT:1->Download the SuperSu TWRP flashable ZIP from this THREAD (don´t extract it) and put in on the root of the internal sd by conecting the device to pc.
2->Turn off our device.
3->Hold HOME+VOL UP+POWER until TWRP screen apears.
4->If it says something about reading-only mode, just swipe that whtie triangles from below.
5->On the main menu, select "Install" and click on the SuperSu zip, then swipe to confirm flash.
6->Reboot and enjoy Marshmallow with TWRP and root! :highfive: :good:

Hi, this isn't a modified (untouched)firmware file, so if you flash with odin it may not trip knox warranty. I'm not completely sure, as I had knox warranty void before. The problem comes when you try to flash anything non-official files with Odin (modified roms, root or twrp), these files will trip the knox flag for sure.

thanks for the replies im new to flashing samsung devices (coming from nexus)..
one other question...my CSC is XAC (canadian) will that stay the same if i flash this UK rom? ive read some have had issues with wifi with flashing other region roms...TIA

I recommend you guys try out http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...elease/good-lock-24-0-7-android-apk-download/ . It is awesome. Tablet feels like a Nexus.

Just upgraded my T710 from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 with user data untouched. TWRP, root and Xposed all reinstalled successfully. One thing worth mentioning is that for SuperSu, Latest version (BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip) instead of Stable version has to be used.

I am in India ?? and I want to update my tab s2 8.0 to m so when is Ota coming and will the UK rom trip the know meter being it frortanother region????? Answer fast

If you bother to read the thread you'd know it won't trip knox if it's unmodified Samsung firmware. Also, telling people to answer quick is rude. Please learn to read the thread before you ask questions, and learn this is a forum, people will answer as they see the question and when they have time.

How will installing this affect devices running in different regions? Will we start getting the UK updates from now on? Does this affect Wi-Fi in some way?
Sent from my SM-T710 using XDA-Developers mobile app

Can you install this on the t810? Might be as dumb question but they are identical?

If you FACTORY RESET AFTER installing SuperSu, You will need to reflash the marshmallow image again to re-root.

there're no news for the T810?

No files available for T810 yet... Just wait a little longer

You may not be able to connect to any Wireless N 5G networks as the UK uses another frequency range for that, however mine keeps appearing, then vanishing, so I'm not sure what that's all about
Another thing I noticed, it does NOT allow you to format your SD card as internal storage. I'm running Cm13 on an LF v400 that allows formatting a fast enough SD card as internal, so I'm not sure if that's some work done by the CM team or if Samsung has disabled this feature. It was my understanding that even Lollipop was supposed to do this but neither tablet will, so I thought at least Marshmallow 6 or 6.0.1 would, but with this UK ROM, I am unable to do so.

I rooted mine without tripping Knox... at least until it asked me if I wanted to disable Knox alerts, then it tripped the flag. I had rooted it twice before, without disabling and Knox was still flagged 0, so if you root it, DO NOT CHOOSE TO DISABLE THE WARNINGS ABOUT KNOX.

I believe it the update app checks the model and build number, so it's most likely you'll get the UK updates. You can always reflash the official US one once we get it (or which ever country you're from) and then it'll update the proper region

My gripe about not being able to format the SD card as Internal is pretty legit. Other devices it gives you both options when you format the SD card: Portable or as Internal storage.
The Galaxy Tab S2 with the UK firmware does NOT have the option.
You can, however, turn USB debugging on, authenticate the computer, and:
adb shell
sm list-disks
take note of the disk named, it should only list one like "disk:166:190"
type sm partition disk:166:190 private (To utilize the whole disk as internal)
or
type sm partition disk:166:190 private mixed 50 (To use 50% of the disk as internal and 50% portable) This method will show two disks when you plug the device into the computer, while the other aforementioned option will only show one - the now larger internal disk.

I created a spot on my website for the stock Odin Tar's that I use for the P600.
I posted the US / XAR Region Stock Odin. I also posted the ML1 Asian base I used as well.
As I gather newer ones I will put them up and updated this thread.
Although this guide is written for the p600 it would, in theory work on any P60x device so long as you have the proper Odin files!
Note: This will not "untrip knox"!!!!!!!!
Here is the download page on my site:

How to Return to stock
This mini guide assumes the following...
You were able to root and or install a custom recovery or ROM therefore the drivers are installed on your PC for the tablet. So here we go...
Download Odin from the links in the OP
Extract the the .md5 file from the zip file you downloaded above.
Boot tablet into "Download" mode. You can do this by holding Power and Volume - (down) when the device is shut off. I note on this device it can be a little trickier so you may have to try a couple times. You should now see this on your tablet

}
Connect Tablet to PC using known good USB Cable
Start Odin and Press the "AP" button to load the tar.md5 file. This may take a minute as it is also calculating the MD5 to ensure you have a good file. A bad file means bad issues and it wont let you flash it (good fail safe).
Once Odin sees the Tar and loads it completely AND Odin sees the tablet press the Start button to begin. Can takes about 5 to 10 minutes so be patient. Do NOT check or uncheck mark ANY other Options in Odin unless you know what you are doing!
Once it complete you will have a factory image on your tablet. Yay!
But we are not done. You may also want to, at this point, reboot to recovery and do a full data wipe. This method of Odin leaves the SD card and user data intact. To get into recovery hold Power and Volume + until you see the stock Android recovery. Select format Data, reboot. Boom, your tablet is like brand new!

Yes, this is returning you to stock like when you turned it on for the very first time.
No one knows how to untrip knox.
Is it Knox that blocks the ota updates, or is it the rooting itself?

Not sure. Never tried to Ota with KNOX.
Maybe ask in the Q/A forums.
Just to be safe, and If I do this the tablet will be as if it was completely new, right? I'm going to exchange it for another one and I want to be sure it's as new. Are there any flash counters or stuff like that I should be worried about?
Sent from my Nexus 5
So when a system update comes out we could use these directions to flash the stock rom with out loosing data, apps, settings, etc? Then be able to get the stock OTA?
Coming from the Nexus world, This is a bit different. Google seems to have no interest in the 10 inch sector though, so here we are.
Never have we had a tablet so heavily defended with so many issues. 6 tablets and this one stands out.

I think I understand what you are saying, but I'm new to Android, and would appreciate a sanity check::cyclops:
1. Knox "trips" (i.e. opens a fusible link in the hardware) if you root the tab and (or?) boot with a non-factory ROM. Once it trips, it cannot ever be "untripped", even if you return to a factory ROM image. (Hence the emphatic statement in the quote.)
2. Question: If a tablet is currently, and has always been, unrooted and stock, will using Odin and these instructions with a factory ROM trip knox? For example, to upgrade to the factory KitKat image
3. Follow-up question: If I flash KitKat as above, can I return to the original release by following your guide, again without tripping knox?
Thanks for the guide and software, and for your help.

1. As far as anyone knows, Knox cannot be untripped.
2. If you Odin a FACTORY IMAGE it WILL NOT trip Knox. Only custom roms/rooting trips AFAIK.
3. I'm not 100% sure as I haven't tried, but I think I've seen discussions where the bootloader wasn't changed so you could go back. Again, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe we could get clarification from someone who tried.

[Root] CFAutoRoot For SM-T807T/SM-T807P + Firmwares

Note: I did not make any of these root methods. Credits of the people who confirmed/ported cfautoroot is at the end of this post. I got permission to post these root methods here as most of the discussion happened in the General thread. I am not responsible for any damages done to your device. This will trip knox as always and this root method is only for the TMobile and Sprint Tab S 10.5! You've been warned!
Root is now available for these devices! Hope you enjoy and hopefully this should get some development going!
CFAutoRoot for SM-T807T(Tmobile)
Ripx88 confirmed T805 Cfautoroot works for SM-T807T, but you may have a broken recovery. He also confirmed that Twrp and Philz CWM for SM-T805 also works on the SM-T807T. Thanks to him!

Follow these instructions to the letter. Do not touch any buttons or checkboxes that are not listed below to touch!
- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA (AP in odin v3.x) button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)
NOTE: Sometimes the device does *not* boot into recovery mode and root your device. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens. If it still will not install root and such, make sure that in Odin "Auto Reboot" is not checked. Then after flashing, manually shutdown your device and boot with VolUp+Home+Power button to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process.
New to Samsung? Unfamiliar with Odin? Think all the above is a hassle? Get used to it. It's very simple, and us Samsung folk use Odin (or Mobile ODIN ) for everything! It's so very very convenient once you get used to it. Notice the 30 second comment above? For experienced users, the entire process indeed takes only 30 seconds!
Flashing with Odin
1. Put your phone into download mode. To do this turn the phone off and then press volume down+home button+power button at the same time. You will then get a warning saying press up to continue and down to cancel, press volume up and you are now in download mode
2. Start Odin
3.At this point please make sure that ONLY TWO OPTIONS TICKED are "Auto Reboot" and "F.Reset Time" (otherwise you could end up with a very expensive paperweight)

4. If there was only one tar file when you extracted the firmware put it in the PDA section. This just means this file contains the PDA+PHONE+CSC all in one firmware
If there are three files they should have one of PDA/PHONE/CSC in their names look for this and put them in the corresponding section.
5. Plug your device into the computer, wait for the drivers to install and then wait for the ID:COM section to turn blue.
6.ONCE AGAIN CHECK YOU HAVE NOT TICKED RE-PARTITION OR PUT IN A PIT FILE
7.Press start and the flash will begin, once this has started do not remove the usb cable or turn of your computer or the device the phone will reboot once the flash has finished.

Post from main thread.
CF-Auto-Root is the root for "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock Samsung firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root. In essence, it does nothing but install and enable SuperSU on your system, so apps can gain root access.
Donate
CF-Root and CF-Auto-Root have been available for many devices (over 50 different models !) and have clocked over 9 million downloads. This is not even counting custom ROMs that include CF-Root (non-Auto) kernels. Don't be a leech, buy me a beer (and use the "Thanks" button!). Imagine if every user had donated me $1...
What's installed
- SuperSU binary and APK
- Stock recovery (note that any other recovery you may have installed will be overwritten !)
What's the difference between CF-Auto-Root and CF-Root, and/or other root solutions ?
CF-Root (non-Auto) are manually built rooted kernels and/or flashables that usually provide more than "just root". CF-Auto-Root is built on an automated system that I am constantly improving that takes a stock recovery image and returns an automated rooting packages. These packages are designed to install and enable SuperSU on your device, so apps can gain root access, and nothing more.
The difference with many other rooting solutions is that those will often install a custom recovery for you (I am personally moving away from custom kernels and recoveries, for various reasons), while with CF-Auto-Root you will end up with a stock recovery again.
Not included - custom recovery
A custom recovery like CWM or TWRP is not included.
Not included - Triangle Away
Triangle Away can be used to reset the flash counter after installing CF-Root. The flash counter keeps track of how many custom firmwares you have flashed, as this voids warranty. (No idea what this about ? Read up on it, you will want to use this !)
Not included - adbd Insecure
As this CF-Root does not include a custom kernel, adb shell does not have root access by default (you can still get it by typing su inside the shell), nor is adb remount supported, nor will adb push and adb pull work on system files. adbd Insecure can be used to remedy this situation. (No idea what this is about ? Don't worry about it !)

Please let me know if it works smoothly. I'm still in the process of tweaking it and looking for bugs.
Anyone have the firmware for the T807P? I see the T807T is up there, but think us Sprint users would need the correct firmware correct or we can run the TMo variant and be fine? Just want to confirm. If that is all we need. I'll go ahead with the process right now.

Att blocks mega because of the history of mega and copyright claims. Ill make another mirror with google drive.
For anyone having trouble with the T807P root please post information on what happened and I will try to troubleshoot it. It is suppose to be a quick and easy CFAutoRoot using ODIN. I will say that it doesn't work if you are trying to use Odin on a virtual machine. It will stop as it tries to upload the cache.img. There is something about virtual machines that blocks it or Odin just doesn't like.
Uploading Sprint firmware now Will also upload the boot.img amd recovery if a dev wants them.

This is a promising quote. I've been onto various chinese website and translated the pages, downloaded various TWRPs for the G9287 but flashing it doesn't complete. It doesn't fail but it doesn't pass either. Kebong. If you've managed to root a G9287 please could you go into a bit more detail? I can see on chinese forums that there are ROMs so it must be possible to root. So close yet so far.
Thank you.
i also fails, this is what i got try flash both TWRP and Philt all fails with this message (i dont understand chinese). I try to work on research and found that it might need to download Crom service from galaxy store to unlock bootloader, but i cant find in my Galaxy Apps store (any one have link for APK so i can try it). Or anyone knows what is going on attached is the screen shot i got
Hi, ive tried both arter97's kernel and the one in the chinese forum. Both work, but in the chinese kernel NFC wont turn off so i ditched it for the former kernel despite the 9287c not being formally supported.
I first installed the PhilZ touch recovery and flashed the kernel as you normally would. No issues so far and it is my daily driver.

I found CROM system app which fixed the first stumbling block. Finally I could flash a custom (Philz) recovery via odin. It passed. Brilliant. However I press all the buttons at the same time to get out of bootloader. I can't stop it booting up, but I just power down again then boot into recovery.
At this point it shows a lying down android and says 'system update...'. After a few seconds it says 'no command' then boots into the stock recovery with no apparent change. It still boots up but not changes seen. I've had a search around forums. The issue is mentioned but no solution found.
So close, yet so far!

Okay - so, when you've flashed via odin, hold down all the buttons to reboot but DON'T HOLD THEM FOR TOO LONG! Immediately jump to to home, vol up and power and hold that. It's all about the speed. When I did this it booted straight into Philz. Don't let it reboot. That's the key. After 3 weeks of trying. I'm finally rooted.
For CROM Settings - do an internet search. I found one that said it was for standard S6. It worked fine for S6 Edge+.
Here you go guys CROM Settings
What are you guys using the CROM for? @[email protected]
We use CROM because otherwise cannot flash anything by odin. I just successfully root.

SM-G9287 root via Odin
To root Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ SM-G9287 variant or with G9287ZHU1A0H5 baseband version via Odin, follow these instructions:
****WARNING: This will trip your device's KNOX WARRANTY.****
I am not responsible if during the rooting process you brick your device or make it completely dead.
This is just a guide how to root your device.
1. Download these files to your PC:
> CROM Service4shared.com/mobile/2CaRP69sba/CROM_Service.html> Odin3 v.3.10.74shared.com/rar/74xTnC-Rce/Odin3_v3107.html> Smart Switchsamsung.com/us/smart-switch/assets/downloads/Smart_Switch-PC_4.0.15093_11.exe> G9287 Tar File4shared.com/file/PBnmMkgsba/G9287-Root.html2. Install Smart Switch in to your PC.
3. Transfer CROM Service into your device and install it.
4. Open CROM Service and choose option that unlocks your device.
5. Unzip and run Odin3 to your PC.
6. Make sure your device has a battery life at least 60%.
7. In your device, enable OEM unlock and USB debugging.
8. Turn off your device and reboot to the Recovery Mode (push Volume Down + Home key + Power key buttons for 2-3 seconds).
9. Push Volume Up button to continue.
10. Connect your device to your PC. Odin3 must notice that you have connected your device, so on the tool you must see the “added” message displayed along with the ID:COM section which now should be blue.
11. In Odin3, click "AP" button then search for the tar file you had downloaded.
12. Select "Start" from Odin3 and wait while your device is being updated or rooted.
13. Finally, when the installation procedure is over on Odin3 you will see the “pass” message displayed and your device will automatically reboot.
14. Disconnect your device from your PC.
14. CONGRATULATIONS! Your device is now rooted.

Tab S2 8.0 (T710) Android N Firmware- link

Hello.
I have managed to get the update file for Android N for the T710 variant of the Tab S2. The version I'm linking is for the UK region.
Here is the mega.co.nz https://mega.nz/#!xAAFQDqa!rZSJEqdEjNZpK59xggKxVRKukLXNm2oi472I4Rx-JSs
Make sure the select all three files to flash: AP, BL and CSC.
As Dariusdd pointed out, the update clears all your user settings and files.
only t815 not got yet...
Thank a lot for sharing...much faster download ...
It worked fine, just a future warning for everybody who installs it: it will wipe your internal memory, move your Titanium Backup data to your SD card or PC (don't be like me).

I did it with AP only as well and it's working fine. Came from stock 6.0.1.
I flashed all 3 files, also I can't seem to find the mobile hotspot options you've told us about. Might be because you didn't flash the other 2 files or because it was a dirty flash?

First, you need to get Samsung USB Drivers from Here
then get odin from my link in the post, backup all your data because your internal sdcard will be wiped clean
power off your tablet, hold the home button, vol down and power it up, press vol up when asked to continue to Download Mode
Now, run Odin 3.12 and connect your device, you should see Added!! on the left side, extract the rom zip where you'll end up with 3 files (AP,BL,CSC), select the 3 files in their respective slots (AP will take some time) but when you're done, press start and wait for the tab to boot up
for rooting, download this twrp recovery: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862710032
and download Magisk v12 from here: http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
copy the magisk zip to your tab, power it off and again enter download mode, connect the tab and run odin, select options (2nd tab) and untick Auto Reboot, select the twrp in AP slot and click start
Once it says pass, hold down Power button and vol down to power off the tablet, but you'll have to quickly enter recovery mode by pressing the home and vol up button along with the power button.
Once in twrp, swipe to allow modifications, click install, browse to the magisk v12 zip file and install it, reboot to System and download magisk manager from play store.

There is already a T715 version which appeared even earlier yesterday. That one is for Italy, but it should be fine.
Anybody else having issues with their Samsung account after rooting the tablet? I can't seem to be able to connect anymore after rooting, also for other users of SD maid: do not clear anything, it seems that one of the app's options breaks auto brightness and auto rotation.

how did you root the tablet? supersu I presume, if yes then that's why it's breaking the brightness and wifi, root with magisk because i remember the note5 and s7 had the same issues when supersu wasn't updated and the ramdisk kept interfering with the drivers

I hoped that was the case, so I ended up clean flashing again and rooting with magisk last night, thinking that being a little newer it should work with Samsung's Android N.
I didn't have any issues with SuperSU either for several restarts, so I assumed it might've been because of SDmaid clearing the wrong stuff. Either way, I'll try backing up my /data before trying again, so that I won't have to reset the tablet for the 3rd time in case that was also related. LE: even after several reboots after clearing stuff with SD maid, I have yet to experience the difficulties I had while using SuperSU. Magisk is fine.
Also: I managed to make my Samsung account work properly now. I reset the "Samsung Account" application to its initial state (through SDmaid, but it might work with other stuff as well) and it let me log in properly.

S7 Edge bricked by flashing Chainfire root without OEM unlocked..

Hello everyone,
Sadly I've been stupid enough to flash Chainfire root trough Odin without enabling the "OEM Unlock" setting in android.
The phone is now stuck at the boot logo. Is there any way to get it to boot again? Or obtain the data that is on the phone?
It is an S7 Edge SM-G935F hero2lte
I was thinking to flash TWRP and create a backup, but I've got no idea if this is possible.
Luckily most of the pictures are on a External SD.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.
Lurninn
Download offical firmware from sammobile and flash it with Odin
Boot in download mode and flash official stock firmware...
Try flashing stock official firmware with HOME_CSC instead of CSC file so that it doesn't wipe your phone.
TWRP backup method will not work here since it also require OEM unlock and it must format /data once to remove encryption, so that it can read the partition which defeat the purpose since your current data are gone from the format.

No.
It will ask you for phone model and serial number.
Read them from the back of the phone.
Install kies, run the program, put your phone to download mode and connect to pc.
In the upper section there must be a tab where you find "emergency firmware download and install" or something like that.
This is where you will be ask for model and serial number and the restauration begins.
If you want a clean install with all the data wiped, there a custom recovery will be handy from where you format everything and after that you will use kies.
Good luck

There are 2 versions of kies, one for older devices until galaxy s4, and one for newer devices.
I can't remember wich one is, but the app warns you if you didn't install the correct version
I have to mention, the firmware on the phone is the UK one instead of the Dutch one. I did this back then to get the 7.0 update earlier.
Will the Kies method still be possible?

Thanks for your help. but: Stock my S7 comes with PHN firmware ( Which is dutch ) but recently I've downloaded the BTU firmware. ( UK Unbranded ) in order to receive the 7.0 update earlier. So, : I downloaded the latest BTU Firmware for the S7 edge.
It comes with 5 files.

The emergency option isn't available somehow. It shows "Lists of devices requiring emergency recovery" , but the list is empty.
When i choose the firmware upgrade option, I indeed have to enter my model name + Serial number, but the message states that data WILL be wiped.
@Lurninn
Here... my bad Take a closer look
This is what i used and on my device it didn't wipe data.
I don't know if it is available for you too but i did it a couple of times when i really messed up my phones and each time my photos and videos weren't deleted.
No matter what firmware you are on right now, kies will download the latest one corresponding to your device and the country it was released for.

The thing is, my phone originally is a PHN (Dutch) Phone, however, I flashed BTU (UK) Firmware on my phone.
And btw, Could it be that your pictures were on an external SD card? because using this recovery doesn't touch the external SD. I'm still not convinced that this will keep internal data untouched. ;(
The method of flashing HOME CSC seems the most safe/logical to me at this moment.

I did it on my s6edge wich doesn't have a external SDcard support only via otg.
Regarding the firmware, i told you that kies doesn't care about that becauce it will read your original trace of csc and will download the coresponding firware ( if the original firmware was Dutch it will download Dutch firmware )
I don't tell you to use my method and i don't guarantee you that this is 100% safe for what you want, but i'm telling you that i used this method and for me it worked even on non-external SDcard phones with no data loss except the third party apps.

I' m really curious. Don't forget to post the result.

Most of my pictures are on the SD-Card, It are mostly the 3'rth party apps that I was worrying about.
BUT: I've followed NonXtreme's method, and I SUCCEED!!!
I downloaded latest BTU Firmware from Sammobile, and flashed all 4 files (and CSC_Home) trough Odin.
At first I was kinda worried because after flashing the phone booted with "Erasing" in screen. The phone successfully booted, and remained just like I left it.
You might want to try this method next time artaniss11k if you want to keep your apps & settings.
Thanks guys for your help/suggestions.
