Most stable custom ROM? - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Which is the most stable custom ROM that's Marshmallow? I have Redmi 2 prime. I have found many ROMs, but I'm not sure which is the most stable one.

I've done a bit of reasearch and i found these to be very stable :
1. Nexus ROM
2. Resurrection Remix
There are others but this is my view.
Both ROM's are available in the xda forum.
I've personally used both the rom's and here's my take :
Both are lightweight, smooth and super stable.
Resurrection Remix is the one that offers more customization and features, but it has a bug - slow charging. Its taking about 7-8 hours to charge fully. There are methods to fix this bug. You'll have to use a new kernel, recommended undine kernel. But i thought this would be too complicated. So, i went for the nexus rom.
I've been using the nexus rom since past 4 days now. Its stable, lightweight and has no bugs. Camera quality is also at par to the stock camera.
So, i would suggest you to go for the Nexus ROM.
Go for the latest version.

Bug in nx rom
Biggest irritating bug found in nx rom i.e conference call. When you are speaking in a call if you get another call you are not able take or reject the new call.. Phone will be rebooted.
I searched for fix but no luck.

I'm using VanirAOSP build from premaca (with berserk stock kernel and opengapps, links available on the sticky [INDEX] thread), 6.0.1 and pretty stable to me.
PS: mine is a Redmi2 Pro 2014819 (a Redmi 2 Prime 2014811 variant) with dual-sim.

what gapps you use? or use NX gapps?.... As far as i know call bugs from pure aosp source that is source to build original / custom rom....the source app name called google dialer app and google dialer framework.....you should update google dialer from gapps that give you a google dialer apps and google dialer framework uptodate....i use open gapps build 04/20/16 and NX rom on my redmi 2 20140817.... I can make a conference call with my three friend...no issue....for me as far as till now, the rom what can give bug free and stable release is NX rom 10.2...very light and smooth.....

I switched to Resurrection Remix 5.6.7. I also flashed Undine kernel which has removed the slow charging bug.
But, its giving a lesser battery backup than the nexus rom.

I never use conference calls, so this won't be an issue for me. Did you find any bugs other than that?

What's the most stable custom rom today? [November]

Sorry if this is not the place, and sorry for my eng too, but I have this doubt, I've seen differents cyanogens from China and the resurrection remix, I always had cyanogen on my Moto's I dont known the RR and I dont even know what is more stable today (I have a very bad internet and my 3s come this week, cant test any rom yet, but I want to download something stable to test when 3s arrived)
On another words... What rom are U using? And why?
PD: Sign please, https://www.change.org/p/publish-the-kernel-source-for-the-xiaomi-redmi-3s-prime-3x
With this we will have true roms based on the real code of the dispositive.
Thanks!
(Sorry my eng, again!)
I currently use Resurrection Remix 5.7.4 as of now.Its stable enough to be used as daily driver, only flaw is the vedio recording but it works fine when used via footej camera.Rest everything is great.RR is actually based on Cynogenmod only ,plus some more customisations and features like split screen multitasking etc.I also used CM13 for about a fortnight, its also pretty stable.YOu can use either of it!

Any noticeable lags, battery drain?
nope..i didnt notice any in the latest builds...the previous build of cm13 did drain battery a lil bit.and previous 5.7 RR lagged a little..but again the latest one is really good.it even has october security patch
I am currently on RR 5.7.0 as my daily driver for past week or two...it's quite stable...didn't bumped into any bug...waiting for kernel release so more custom ROMs can be made.
Please make sure you signed the petition on change.org, which request the xiaomi to release the kernel sources of R3S (If you want to see more custom ROMs).
Thank u very much for ur answers! I'll try the RR 5.7.4, when my 3s arrive, and yes, I've signed the petition when we were 240 aprox!! I'll put the link on top
PD: If someone want to share his experience with one of these roms or anothers are most welcome!

Yes they do...both CM and RR have a feature called "protected apps"...it locks any app ,and you can unlock them with fingerprint. Also if you use xposed, you can try "maxlock" which is a great module and provides applock functionality with fingerprint support(i myself have tried this module).

At the moment I can only recommend this https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/6-11-3.35941/ which is actually a customized, well debloated and fine tuned MIUI builds. Until devs can get their hands-on quality sources officially from upstream (from Xiaomi and that's not happening yet), there is no other substitute.

Miui has bugs and problems. Currently, I'd recommend custom ROMs to only those who have problems using Miui (like me). And ported ROMs are not that bad - only VoLTE support issue, video recording problem and a little less battery backup. Everything else is fine and smoother.

For me significant reasons to replace a rom would be stability, battery life and I don't like miui look. But if I don't gain anything in battery life I just freeze most xiaomi crap including mi account and battery life management, install my normal greenify-titanium and other apps and stay at miui either developer or stable from miui-hellas. Only thing I really miss is the ability to run custom app from keys. If cyanogen could improve their battery life I think I would easily switch...

[ROM]CyanogenMod 14.1 jgcaap builds

Hello everyone, after a great success on building roms for bacon device. I've decided to share my work with other devices. So now I share with oneplus 3. After positive feedback on the rom today I'll publish here the rom.
Kernel and Device tree are untouched so everything should be working smoothly. You can use a custom kernel in case you like, but i'll only give support to stock kernel as I do not yet own an device. So CM bugs are basically also our bugs, and from what I know there is none. Still I'm open to suggestions.
Download
GAPPS
Features:
Updated SQL to 3.15.1
Optimized Build with custom toolchain on ROM and Kernel
Proguard 5.3
Snapdragon Camera
More coming soon
I'm a very praticle user, and my aim will be to get a very fluid stable system, at same time with speed and battery, keeping most stock possible with the optimizations which will improve for real our experience.
Thanks

And have considered adding any of @arter97 fixes and improvements from his cm13 kernel
Thanks for your work

Between stock cm from 13 till now, having strange bug fp scanner, sometimes fp sensor stop working, we need manually turn on screen.
If same happens, I will report back.
Also same was in stock cm13 but not happening in @Sultanxda rom.
also, this is not happening in aosp based roms, so its deep in cm.

I am using cm12.1 it has 3 minor bugs 1. Proximity sensory sometimes gets fastened, causes problem when in calls but it can be disabled 2. 3second of glitch in every new video that's recorded by the default camera app 3. It takes around 1 hour 45 mins to get fully charged, I have not found yet why that's so, when my phone was on miui v6.3.5 it just nearly took 1 hour or so...
I've been flashing Rom's since mid 2012 and this ROM is the most stable yet it's not miui or my rom {FreeFlow OS} (NIG. )
Some guys say that It's only for KK bootloader, If it is the case and you're on any miui version u can
1. Go to official miui forum
2. Get your ROM downloaded in correspondence with your Phone or Processor {whatever}
3. I won't be saying about the process of flashing a miui rom if you are already on miui
4. Download the ROM from the official site { REMEBER I SAID OFFICIAL }
5. Now comes the flashing process 【which every noob knows how to 】
6. I've not flashed Gapps yet cuz I literally don't need it because I've minimized the usage of my phone now a days. But if u want like u can flash but REMEBER that OUR PROCESSOR IS ARM64 bits ... Some guys have the phone but don't even now it ... The process of Flashing GAPPS is simple and it requires no bull**** only if you flash it after flashing the ROM
7. So what are you look down at ... Man u have done everything ... Make accounts start customizing
•IF YOU'RE STUCK SIMEWHERE DO PING ME, I'LL BE REPLYING ASAP
For some guys flashing a ROM requires good luck ... So, Good luck
Mokee
I have tested CM13, CM14, RR, and others... all with battery drain problems.
I finally found a stable custom rom, without battery drains.
Mokee 60.1 - Android M
http://download.mokeedev.com/?device=wt88047
I am currently on Orion 2.7, had DU installed in past. With Orion (MM) all is good except battery drain issue when using GPS.
If you switch off GPS, no issues.

I am on CM13 20161031 build for a long time now. It is extremely stable and most importantly I am being able to use VoLTE as well. As for battery drains, overnight battery drain is at 1-2%. Using 4G drains battery as usual. Overall, the ROM is smooth and great. Use aroma gapps and you can save a lot of space. I love this one and highly recommend that you flash it. I am even using CyanogenMod recovery to get a complete CM feel to the phone.

Stable Nougat Roms?

Hello everyone.
I want a little help from you guys in selecting a best ROM from amongst many.
I've tried almost all ROMs available, but not able to decide which ROM to use as my daily driver.
I flash my device daily just to get a stable ROM, which satisfy all my need.
My requirements in a ROM are as follows-:
Double Tap To Wake
Battery efficient
Stable in terms of Force Closes
4G and VoLTE working
Customizations
Please guys help me in selecting a good ROM.

AOSP EX. has some issues with double tap, it's not responsive. I've used it for around 2 weeks.
AND RR rom (VoLTE Version), I've tried it. It has a big issue with calling.
In the I-M-MORTAL Version, Whenever we call someone over VoLTE, then the calling screen gets stucked while hanging up, and nothing could be done by hard reboot also.
In its Feb built also, it has an issue with dialer app. That whenever we call someone, dialer app crashes, and nothing could be done to stop this FC.
This issue was reported by many users.
Then only cm14 last nightly i can suggest you ! That's my love !

Not like that
I love all GZR builds
I love the works of @premaca
But Tesla is the light weight ROM
No lags and no reboots
This is way I prefer Tesla

It is pretty stable and as compared to others I think it is one of the most stable rom. Unless you don't flash a custom kernel or something.
Confused between AOSP EX. and GZR (Validus & Tesla) now.
Tried both.
But I've read many reviews about GZR Roms, many users says it gives random reboot, but here in this thread, mostly all saying that GZR is best (no reboot or any issue).
Actually, I want to use it for daily use. So want to stay away from random reboot issues.
And, about AOSP EX. I've not got such reviews (like random reboot).
I reason I want to move on from AOSP ex. is customizations and it's double tap unresponsiveness.

does it get activated, tried, didnt work
Lineage OS 14.1 07/10/2017 build is perfect for me!
There are no bugs and u can get the customisation part via gravity box (xposed obviously) !
The only bug I found that everytime I open google photos android.process.media crashes (which is present in almost every custom rom).
There are no other bugs.
Battery backup is great and fast charging is also there...750-820 ma!

I did but the same problem is there
AOSP by pirej is fast and lagfree and can be used as a daily driver but if you want speed, stability and customisations at the same place the best choice is Viper OS.
