I updated my phone today and I was able to root it an disable KNOX.
I used CF-Autoroot http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ and it worked flawlessly and when I was updating the binary I got the option to disable KNOX.
Root Instruction:
1. Flash with Odin
2. Add a google account incase it has not been setup yet.
3. Install SuperSU from Market.
4. Open it and it wil ask you to update binary.
Respect to the developer.
Futhermore, I got CWM with one of the methods I was using when on JB 4.1.2
PLS NOTE: You will lose warranty if phone is rooted at this time. If you will like to keep your warranty with no possibility to go back to an older android version, please AVOID rooting your ROM and wait for custom ROM with KNOX disabled

My device is I9305T but has been running I9305 FW (and probably bootloaders) for a while...

I removed my SD card (just in case) and did a full system wipe just to get rid of everything I did to my system over the last year:
Hold down volume up, home and power buttons, when screen turns on, leave these buttons, do the full system wipe. (Don't think this is really necessary though.)
Install 4.3 on your i9305

Switch the phone off after first book (at SIM PIN prompt).

For me what worked, was installing PhilZ Touch (latest version), and using the built-in rooting function of the recovery. Then, installing SuperSU gave me perfect root.
Does anyone know if Koush's superuser app works in any way in this release? I would prefer to use an open-source superuser app.

No , it doesn't . By flashing CF-Root you will get Knox count 1 .

Uh. I think, at this point, that the best thing (for me) is to not update.
Update using Heimdall, and skip flashing tz.img and sboot.bin. Be aware that this will break WiFi until a custom kernel is released

But I think it would be kind of you to edit the OP to say in a very visible way that someone doing that looses his warranty with no possibility to go back at this time (until a solution is found, but no one knows if this will ever be the case ...) because of the new Knox bootloader and the new Knox warranty void flag.

Thanks mate for clarifying the issue of Knox flag and warranty. I will wait for a dev to make Knox-free rom.
if you'd like to have 4.3 stock rom with root and warranty, you can update your phone to 4.3 using Mobile Odin PRO latest version (3.85). Let's say you're on 4.1.2, just download 4.3 for your phone, move it to phone storage, flash it using Mobile Odin PRO with EverRoot and Inject Mobile Odin features. This way you'll have a 4.3 rooted in warranty.

I've buy the Pro Version ( in this moment the version is only working with this Mobile ( nobody knows, at which time the support will be stopped ) ).
I don't want see, that Knox is incr. from 0x0 to 0x1 with this procedure ....

I think I've read that Mobile Odin isn't able to flash the bootloader. If this is really the case then it is true (old bootloader = no Knox flag). Note that you will also need to flash a custom kernel cause stock 4.3 kernel without Knox bootloader breaks wifi.

What about triangle away? (Or downgrading to a earlier stock Knox free ROM and than triangleing away?)
Hello everyone,
Until today I had official firmware I9505XXUGNF1 on my GT-I9505 that I rooted with TowelRoot (great app by the way).
Knox 0x0.
Today I upgraded to I9505XXUGNG8, and I lost the root (of course), but now TowelRoot can't root my phone.
Is there any solution to this or another method to root without tripping the knox?

Delete everything related with knox via titanium back up (popular) or sd maid (personal pref) then root with cf-auto root. Or look up a thread on xda named triangle away...

1. I think I need Root to delete Knox apps, don't I ?
2. Will this prevent the Knox status from showing 0x1 or is it only by software level ?
3. I prefer a method that skips the Knox counter in the first place (like TowelRoot) and not messing around (with TriangleAway for example) trying to reset what I could avoid. Also, I always prefer a cleaner method (that requires the least number of changes to the system). Besides, TriangleAway doesn't reset the Knox counter, right ?

Oh yh sry. Just look up thread on triangle away i think it does reset it. Deleting knox app dosent change nothing it system unless you use it. Infact deleting knox gives you more space.
Or start from scratch- delete data/cache via recovery delete and reinstall usb files on your pc, flash firmware, and try rooting again.

KNOX counter cannot be reset even by using Triangle Away. No matter how many data wipes you do or
caches you clean.
Once it it 0x1, it remains 0x1.

Yeah. But what samsung did now was, that they fixed the loophole in KNOX 2.0 OTA upgrade which geohot was using to gain root access.
Wait for a while and see if he gets another loophole to root.

I had same problem with my GT-I9505 (jfltexx), just google " root I9505XXUGNG8 " (without quotes)
should be top result from nasirtech blog .
I used Odin 3.09, make sure to wait for pass.... Might take a little while.
checked with root checker , all good.

i updated too and lost root, and then found out that towelroot is no longer working! any help on rooting without knox 0x1 would be great.
Flash a lower kernel and then use towelroot and then flash back the correct kernel for your rom. Knox will be 0x0 but system status will be custom.

I'm sure I've missed it but I just want to be 100% sure so I apologize if this has (probably) been asked 100 times.
I rooted my Galaxy Note 3 Verizon with Towelroot as soon as it was released. It worked great and knox is still 0x0. I need to do a warranty replacement on my device due to a faulty charging port and need to remove my root access.
Info:
Model: SM-N900V
Hardware Version: N900V.07
Android Version 4.4.2
Knox status: 0x0
No ROMs have been added. Just added root access to stop some apps from running.
What is the proper way to remove root access without tripping Knox?
Probably better safe to just do a full on reset. I found a guide but I'm prevented from posting links... But it involves running Odin and reflashing the default firmware. would this be the correct way to reset/unroot and not trip Knox?
I would like to unroot and just do a full 100% reset as if it was just being pulled out of the box without of course tripping knox. In searching, someone said to just use Samsung Kies software: "under the firmware upgrade menu. It will fully wipe the phone and return it to stock." Is this a correct method?

Knox will not trip as long you doesn't flash custom recovery or kernel or custom Rom.
Warning:
Factory reset using stock recovery will wipe your internal storage.
Backup all your file in Internal storage first.

You can easily search on the q&a section on how to reflash your phone. But if you don't know how to do that, I suggest you read a LOT before you attempt to reflash.
Your original post shows that you have absolutely NO idea about how to do anything to your phone and keep it in a working state, or what any modification implies.
If you lost knox, there is absolutely NO way to get it back. Reflashing to stock will have NO impact on the state of the knox. If the knox flag is triggered, then your knox apps have stoppped functioning and, like I said before, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to reverse that.
I really don't know why the others told you to reflash to stock. I thought it was general knowledge that once you lose knox, it cannot be reversed and you also lose the knox apps.
I know i repeated myself a couple of times, but with your kind of people, repetition is the only way to make oneself understood.

To my knowledge every Root related thread mentions, very explicitly, that rooting prevents you from using the KNOX app.
Which makes perfect sense, since KNOX is a security container meant for storing secure data. Once you root, no part of the device is truly safe from tampering.
Once the KNOX flag is 0x1, The KNOX app is disabled and can not be restored. If you want to use KNOX, I'm afraid you'll have to buy a new device. The 0x1 flag can't be reset.

so i have galaxy s10+ sm-g975F
i rooted the phone then i flash the last firmware G975FXXUFHVG4 to relock the bootloader and get fresh clean software
so here is the issues samsung pass keep detecting the device was rooted
the second package disabler owner app cannot sit as an admin anymore giving me java errors
i flash other firmware i keep getting the same issue
i email package disabler pro asking them what the issue they give me no answer
how i can totally get rid of all the root files on my phone

Pass, Secure Folder need KNOX.
You can unroot by just flashing the latest firmware with Odin. But KNOX related stuff, that's bye bye forever.

Just so we dont get confused here.
When i say KNOX, i don't mean any sort of package disabler, i mean the KNOX security system inside Samsung phones. It's an eFuse that gets tripped once you root, and it's impossible to revert back.
Some Samsung services such as Secure Folder, Samsung Pass, WILL NEVER work even if you flash the latest official rom.
Now, if you want my two cents, debloating used to work, but not as much anymore, of course i may stand corrected, but i tested it myself without any difference in results.
Why dont you make use of the Deep Sleep listing in Device care, that way you limit an app from waking up unless you actually want too. Of course, im assuming this is all for battery gains.
