Went to the Samsung booth at Best Buy & the Samsung rep said that even with his software, he cant downgrade firmware for me.

Similar situation. So I manually updated. I downloaded the MF3 package from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358763 and use the stock recovery to update and now it works.

Because your phone is being used on T-Mobile, your update will come from T-Mobile. Pretty sure that is what the axman was saying. I had a tmo phone on att at one point and got my updates from att....
I'm not sure how that works for our device, so you may not get an update at all from Tmo. But yes in general your update would come from tmo.

I haven't gotten the update either. I'm on an ATT i337 running Tmo SIM. Kies still says I'm current, and I've tried changing my phone's date to August 1st and still no update. If I'm on an ATT phone but using Tmo, will the OTA update work from Settings?
I don't want to root my phone until I get this update.

I appreciate the reference to the other thread, but I really don't want to spend the time jumping through those hoops. I'm hoping for an easy firmware update now, then a root method sometime down the line.

then keep an eye out on http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares for an MF3 tar release. once it drops you can flash via odin without root access
I'm confused. Will I receive the update through Settings->About Device->Software Update, or will I have to update it through Kies?
EDIT: Just noticed that I can't check for an update for another 1269 hours!!!

correct me if i'm wrong here.. i thought i read from that it's best not to do OTA updates if your usage preferences rely on root and/or custom roms and kernels.. i only use odin because from what i understand, that is usually the safest way to fully wipe and restore/upgrade/downgrade mobile devices running android. am i wrong? curious.

My phone began to update the firmware when ever I would connect to wifi... I couldn't disable the automatic update... so what I did was remove the "att firmware update apk" via titanium backup
no more updates from now on... screw you ATT! haha \m/

There is a monotonic hardware fuse that blows when the ota is installed. Once that happens the device won't accept older firmware...

Since my S4 is bricked and I have no MF3 Odin to save it, I put on the Beta I337UCUEMJ6. It works fine. Now my phone is alive. I'm going to keep this one at stock.
I've not noticed any big difference vs. the MF3.
The official MJ6 should come soon.

You are correct. But for those who are semi-bricked they have another option other than mj6, or best buy
I could not find MF3 Odin files. That is why I put on the MJ6. This phone will run stock only. I just want it to work....

I cant upgrade my Note 3. Fails every time at 27%. I am 100% positive it was never rooted or modified in any way.

it seems knox is blocking something... every time i restart phone it says an application was blocked.... there's no way to disable knox because its nowhere to be found on my phone

I thought ATT released KitKat OTA update for Note 3? Besides, I first got the notification around the same time they announced it. In the past all updates worked fine. This is the first one that fails.

There's different sections on XDA this is the Note 3 sub section, then there's the VERIZON sub section then SPRINT and ATT. I linked you directly to the ATT subsection, which contains info for the ATT model as its completely different to the N9005 and N900.
Your model is N900A. If you use firmware from here or get stuck we can't help you as we aren't familiar with ATT model.

I have a 2015 16GB version that's running stock rooted ROM. I've never had issue with OTA upgrades in the past but 6.2 doesn't install.
It goes through the process but doesn't seem to upgrade because it keeps prompting me to upgrade.
I believe that the issue is because of root. So I would like to know if there is an easier way of unrooting and getting OTA instead of going completely back to stock?
