Fingerprint Scanner - One Touch, Multiple Actions-My Honor7 device is awesome - Honor 7 General

One of the Core feature of Honor 7 is its great Fingerprint sensor and integrated it with different actions in EMUI.
Below are few amazing things which one can do with One Touch on Fingerprint sensor.
My Favorite : Take Phone/Video, (so convenient than touching the capture button onscreen). Whats yours?

Back to home + Show recent apps (+ Touchplus app) and good bye onscreen navigation bar

Most used was tap to go back once. Don't know why they removed it. It was so convenient especially for someone with small palms like me

HTC One 4.2.2 Changelog

Yea, the stickied thread has 220+Pages of people arguing about wether or not idia will get it before singapore or why one should bother with it or not.
I just want a simple change log of things different from the original.
I have noticed the following: (in addition to the basic lists)
*LED blink disappears if you read the message preview
*2 finger swipe down for quick settings
*Daydream added (screensaver for when plugged in)
*Home button swipes
*Magnification gestures (3 tap on/off/hold and pan etc)
*Blinkfeed back button-to-top
I'l add more if this thread isn't merged
More video highlight themes, ae/af lock.

In the WIFI settings, (advanced) there is now an option to optimise battery power when WIFI is on.
Not sure what that does tbh
Auto Screen brightness SEEMS a little dimmer (a good thing imho)

[Q] Quick Window Sensor

Hi,
I like to quick window cover but the app choice and the accidental swipes whilst in my pockets are a bit irritating. I've been trying to make a custom quick window setup and pretty close so far:
At the moment I use Tasker's proximity and light sensors to open a second launcher with my own widgets and shortcuts etc, on task exit it reloads last app or default launcher. Works pretty well but the proximity/light sensors aren't a great way of activating the task as they pick up accidental inputs.
My questions is re the built in quick window sensor - I am assuming its magnetic? Can Tasker (or a plugin or tweak) have access to this sensor?
If so the possibilities are endless for tweaks and customisations through Tasker - cant seem to find anything though...

as far as i can tell it's magnetic, there is a round disc under the lining of the quick window cover right near the hinge (see attached)...I agree with you, the app selection could stand to be expanded!! I don't know if tasker can access this sensor but I'm interested in your findings!

Hiding the buttons

I find the virtual buttons a bit of a nuisance, I would much rather use gestures. I originally wanted to hide them only on my home screen, but it seems it's all or nothing with qemu.hw.mainkeys in build.prop.
I'm fine getting rid of them, however I'm wondering if there is a gesture system I can have instead, for example a swipe from bottom takes me to the home screen?
Edit: I'm on rooted stock 4.3.
I'm using cataclysm ROM which has a unique feature which fades out the buttons after ten seconds in any app. Other wise I think there's an xposed module that can have swipes to navigate.

Thanks man, turns out I was Googling for the wrong thing - once I figured out that they were called navigation bars I came across an app called " GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys" for rooted devices. (For future people)
I'd rather keep with rooted stock for now but I will be sure to keep an eye on it for when I decide to dabble in roms.

Fancy red lighting (hidden feature)

Steps to get the lighting thing up...
1. Place your phone on a flat surface (this is a must, otherwise it will not work)
2. Open the camera
3. Switch to front camera/selfie mode
4. Turn off the lights in your room
5. See the magic

Note: Works best if you have a transparent case.
I do not know if it works in all variants of the S6 Edge.
Confirmed working on the S6.
The same happens if you measure your heart rate in S Health.

That's obviously obvious. Because that's part of a "function".
What function could the light possibly have when the device is on a flat surface and you want to take a selfie? None that I know of, either it's a bug or a hidden feature (as I originally thought).

This happens because you can take a selfie by putting your finger at the heart rate sensor

Dont ask for fingerprint for 1,2,5 minutes ?

Hi,
is there some option which will leave phone unlocked for specific time after last use ? Like when I am in dark room face recognition does not work and I dont want to put finger or pattern everytime that message comes. IPhone has app called Mesalation for that and I am so used to it.
So basically I want to leave everything ON but I want to be without security stuff for a specific time every time after I lock the phone. Leaving screen on for specific time is not an option, I lock it everytime with a button.
Thanks
There is something like this in Settings>Lock Screen and Security>Secure lock settings. Uncheck Power button instantly locks and set auto lock delay to the amount you need.

Wow that was fast and accurate ! Bravo !
I have Croatian language on it so translation is in half the cases idiotic like this one. This phone has more options to set the phone for your needs than HTC U11 and iPhone 7 combined.
Thanks a lot !
