Camera samples

Now that we have gotten past the rooted camera issue, let see what people can do with 20.7 megapixels of sony goodness.
So I'll start.
Taken using the Google camera App photosphere mode

What do you mean "gotten past" the issue? My understanding is there is no current solution

Why are there blurred out spots through out the picture? (Like by the graffiti on the rocks.)

Same question, do you have any more samples to share in full resolution? Thanks!
Some samples
Hello all.
I've had the device for around 2 weeks now, so I can't say I have mastered it.
My experience says that It is definitely not as easy as an iPhone that you just point and shoot and 9 out of 10 you will get a good photo.
This phone/sensor has great capabilities BUT you need to work on the settings.
Here are some samples from these 2 weeks I have been using it.
:cyclops:
SAMPLES HERE
More will be added in time.
Did you use the default camera app, or maybe some alternatives? I like ProCapture, but the focus speed and overall snappiness is better with stock camera app.
Nice pictures thou, the manual mode selection and exposure compenstaion is really visible.

Yes, I don't need root as one doesn't need battery improving tweaks on this phone.

What you see is a not focused picture stitched into the pano. Third party cameras like google camera sometimes doesn't focus correctly, they don't wait long enough for the focus on this phone.

Since this is on a locked bootloader, I would like to point out that I've created such a topic already in the Themes and Apps section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/themes-apps/post-pictures-xperia-z3-compact-t2889119
There already is a thread for this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/themes-apps/post-pictures-xperia-z3-compact-t2889119

[APP] Android 5.0 Lollipop camera app with manual focus

Camera app based on Android lollipop, with manual focusing, exposure bracketing etc.. Can shoot only photos for now.. Perfectly works but only on the latest developer preview LRX21T..
Now can shoot at 30fps videos

Yes.. U can have a look at some comparisons between current camera and the raw camera app
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Unle...ence-between-lossless-raw-DNG-vs-JPEG_id61956
+ on the github there's notes for a "to-do" list of sorts. The list includes seeing if 4k video recording can be achieved. Same with 60fps video recording. Also a port for the n7 as it doesn't work on that yet, even with lollipop.
Very cool! Thank you!

Yes.. U can multiboot Android Lollipop and Try the app if you want [emoji4]
4k was not possible, but now it can record videos at max resolution of 3264x2448 at 30fps with manual focus and manual exposure.
4k is not possible because the sensor does 8mp max which is 3264 x 2448, whereas 4k is 3840 x 2160. So, we are short by 0.3mp. But still it's very good.
The app is regularly updated and everybody interested should have a look at
https://github.com/PkmX/lcamera
The apk can be downloaded from there.
And a detailed readme of what's on offer is also available.
Okay guys good news, camera got updated and now can shoot 4k

3264 x 2448 is not 4k, and im only seeing 24fps for some reason.

GS6 vs Z3 Camera Comparison

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs Sony Xperia Z3 Camera Test: http://youtu.be/SDgmFC2H5eU
Well, well, well...
I think some people will start a war because of Z3 LOL!!!
Sent from my AWESOME Xperia Z3!
Both did pretty well, though I give a slight edge to the Z3, seemed more "natural" in some of those pics to me.
Then again both use Sony Exmor Sensors. The S6 uses the Sony IMX240 and the Z3 uses the Sony IMX 220.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exmor
To be honest I can't really see the difference since the pictures were converted to videos and that would made it difficult to compare. Some pics z3 wins in color but some also s6 has more detail. Both performed great at lowlights but i think I have to give it to s6 for now. O need to see real file/picture comparison. Z3 is great but "superior auto" is messed up intentionally.
Sent from my SGP621 using XDA Free mobile app
Well a lot of people like warmer temp photo's but to be honest the Samsung one has gone too far. Not sure what the point of that comparison was for exactly, maybe just trying to get youtube thumbs up
This proves to me that my Z3 camera is faulty as I never get that kind of sharp detail on grass and leaves, it's always a bit fuzzy.
Maybe your camera my z3 takes amazingly sharp pictures

Might also been compared to Z3 with lollipop.
I'm guessing those pics were on manual mode.
S6 completely destroys it in that video.

On 1:06 in video on Z3 photo in reflection you can see iPhone.... =)
God knows what is on S6 place =)
FAKE!
yeah it's defenitely not a Sony phone, Z3 would never perform that well.

If one knows the way of using manual mode to take pics in Xperia Z3, it is much better than the others
Z3 in manual mode with particular settings for particular scene gives you top class pictures .....only Superior auto mode is not good

Look closely you will see mirrored apple sign ... also look on bevels, and the color of the phone.
SO! SO! LAME! =)
I can only guess phone that is used for Samsung S6 images =)
Installed Camera Zoom Fx and now photos are pretty good!
The iPhone 6 uses a Sony ISX014 which is a smaller sensor vs the Sony IMX 240 in the Galaxy S6/Note 4 so you are right those photos could be misleading, nice find lol. I did not observe that reflection.
