Here is the (default) disabled state

And this is how the audio settings looks after changing AHC supported to yes and LDAC to true
But after all, nothing changed after flicking the switch on/off. I think we need a relevant libs ported from Z4/Z5.
Cheers

I hate that in Sony. Blocking new features from older phones. As they did in quick charge 2. 0

To my knowledge, LDAC is hardware dependent just like aptX or the latest aptX HD

Z2 and Z3 share nearly the same hardware together, so why Z3 does have LDAC while Z2 doesn't? And then about QC as well, Z2 Japanese does, and if you flash Japanese firmware for Z2 International, it would have QC. Sony has been doing suck things to nerf their devices, even Z5 line.

Z3 doesn't have LDAC.
Z3+/Z4 and Z5 has it.

hey guys
i found some news at japanese site
i think this is real SE ICS firmware...
So is the .562 firmware older/newer?
it's weird
submit .562 to PTCRB while release .457 as official?
Maybe .562 is for Chinese only, like 2.3 (.69) is only for germany. Some minor changes only, specific for country.
according to the table, based on my opinion that's a certification for the modem (phone, bt, wifi, and radio) ...
take note that on the Design Description was "Sony Mobile with Bluetooth Technology" and on the Specification Name: 2.1 +EDR, that means our we have bluetooth 2.0 and is capable of doing EDR specific bluetooth functions...
So what exactly is this Japanese site supposed to be saying? I mean it means nothing to us really coz Dude March 16 went almost a month ago ?????

I'm guessing .457 was the build sent for bluetooth approval, after which they can't change the bluetooth modules without recertification, .562 was the release build.
device name is Anzu_ICS in bluetooth qualified design detail
new device will release maybe it's gonna be xperia neo L or something new

Anzu is the internal codename for the Arc!

Xperia A2 released in Japan - A small variation of Z1C/Z1f

So, it looks like Sony didn't release Z2 Compact as we expected. At least not just yet.
They released a small variation of Z1 Compact with same specifications in japan.

What we know is different is back cover which is now matte and more colors (lavernder, orange, black and white)!
Do you think it will see international release? Any more difference you know?

AFAIK SO-2F (or whatever it's called in Japan) does NOT have problems with flash bleed. Flash bleed is caused by plastic back cover, that is present only in international version - z1c.
I wonder though, if they added the T2W feature and\or 4k recording (not that I care much about HighRes, but still).

OK, removed that line.
4K not 100%, and I am not sure about T2W but probably not.
This is not Z2 Compact it's just Z1 compact in another form I guess. And I am not sure about the international version of it...
This is not the real Z2 compact, pls treat it as ZR 2 Compact
I don't think it is an upgrade.
If anything, it is the budget model.
The frame is probably of different material...

Sony Xperia Z4: Walkman edition reportedly in the works

According to Japanese site iGeek, Sony is planning a music-focused ‘Walkman’ variant of its upcoming Xperia Z4 handset.
This isn’t as crazy as it might sound – we’ve already heard on the grapevine that multiple versions of the Xperia Z4 might be coming.
So what would a Walkman-toting Z4 look like? Well fortunately, we have a leaked image purported to be just that, with some specs in tow.
What may disappoint some of you though, is that it looks very much like a slim Xperia Z3 that runs an app mimicking the classic Walkman interface. We’re not surprised…
Perhaps more interesting is the inclusion of hi-res audio codec support, paired with S-Force PRO front-firing surround speakers with Sony’s S-Master digital amplifier.
Also tipped for the device is a 4-inch display with a 1440 x 720 resolution. That’s well below the 5.4/5.5-inch display we’re expecting for the Xperia Z4 proper, which makes it clear that this is a variant model.
On board will be a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in memory, a 2000mAh battery, and an 8-megapixel snapper to boot.
The new device is tipped to be landing at this year’s Mobile World Congress – that’s the Barcelona-based tech-fest running from March 2 to 5.
That puts it alongside the rumoured launch date for the actual Xperia Z4, which is expected to tout much higher specs, and a higher price tag too.

A Walkman edition sounds interesting, that's the only issue with my z1

More details on Recovery mode for select Xperia devices

Recently, we brought word that Sony Mobile had started to officially support recovery mode within its bootloaders. Recovery mode can be very helpful for those wanting to flash custom ROMs and restoring back-up data. It also allows users to test new (and potentially unstable) kernels with the comfort of moving back to a stable kernel.
Recovery mode is already available for a number of devices through Sony’s version of Flash tool (unlocked bootloader is required). This includes the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia E3, Xperia M2, Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T3. More device support is expected in due course.
For further details hit the source link below. It’s great to see Sony continuing its strong support on the developer scene. Karl-Johan Dahlström, Head of Developer Relations, had this to say: “Our overall goal with the open device program is to offer a development environment similar to the one for Nexus devices. Now, by making it much easier to debug, we hope this will further encourage innovation and kernel development on Xperia devices”.

There is some new apk files on apkmirror, you can check them.
Just for the very records, this comes with 2018-02-01 security level (also shared by 51.1.A.2.183, thus I think you cannot go any older)
