[HELP] Which version to buy please? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Before release, the consensus was that Snapdragon version was the best to buy because easier to root and because of ROM development support. From what I read, though, the Exynos is the one you can readily root, is this right? Will ROM development happen only for Snapdragon still? Or is Exynos more popular now?
I know the Snapdragon is faster than the Exynos, but in USA, even Best Buy sells the Exynos version if you asked for unlocked. So my question is this, which should I get?
1) US Cellular version Snapdragon (spoke with them, they sell them unlocked if you add a pre-paid card and pay the full 800+ for phone)
2) International version Exynos ( http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...00332&sr=8-4&keywords=unlocked+galaxy+s7+edge )
3) International DUAL SIM version Exynos ( http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...00332&sr=8-2&keywords=unlocked+galaxy+s7+edge )
I plan to root and install a ROM when one is available, so which of these is better for me? ROMs for international version work the same if dual sim or regular? I'd like to get the Dual SIM version because for only $30 more, you never know when it might be useful... unless having a dual sim version means it would be incompatible with a single sim ROM.
Thanks in advanced.

Your only choice is the exynos if you want root, exynos also has better battery life, they're both equally fast. The dual sim version uses the same firmware as the single sim, i'd get it.

Lots of roms working. Xposed working. Get international version

LG G4 Single sim (815) vs Dual sim (818) Development

I am gonna upgrade my device soon and I've decided on the G4 as my next device. Where I live the international variants are available i.e 815 (single sim) and the 818 (dual sim). Now the dual sim variant better fits my needs but being a power user I can help feel that I would miss out on a lot of custom ROM's, Kernels, ans Mods since the single sim model (815) is more widely available throughout the world and thus more development for that variant.
I read somewhere that the only difference between the models is the modem?
If that's true would I be able to flash the ROMs, Kernel and mods for the 815 (Single sim) variant on the 818 (Dual Sim variant)?
Any and all suggestion are welcome
It will be January 2016 by the time you will be able to flash roms on this device so better look elsewhere if flashing roms is important to you.

We are on the same boat. I am about to buy a second hand LG G4, and on my area there is both a single and a dual device with the same price tag being offered. But I've been doing some researches here on XDA and it definitely seems that the single sim device has better developer support.

Does all the Snapdragon 820 physically support CDMA?

From what I read here https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/820 seems like all the globle version Snapdragon 820 support CDMA? So I assume if I got a unlock version from Hong Kong, I can just put Verizon sim card in there to make it work?
Can I also get Verizon version then wait till it can be root (hopefully), then flash to a Hong Kong Rom to get ride of all the bloatware and release all the locked band and still able to use it on Verizon? Even buy a t-mobile one to work on Verizon?

AT&T and Verizon have locked bootloaders.
All the others are unlocked.
Also, make sure you get the quad core S4, it has the best custom rom support of all the S4 models.
MEans i can purchase sprint or tmobile ? & what about docomo ???
what do you mean by Quad core ??
how would i check that phone is quad core or not ?
I mean the I9505 model.
Don't they display the hardware info of the device?

Most i9505 ROMs don't support docomo variant. Slightly different hardware (even if it's still using same SoC).

Which model S7 Edge is best for... (question inside)

Howdy XDA peeps.. I would like to get an S7 Edge and see that there are a lot of different models out there. Some with Snapdragon, Dual SIM, Exynos (sp), etc.
I have the T-Mobile branded Sony Xperia Z3 right now, love the phone, but hate that the bootloader is locked! I am stuck on Lollipop with no Marshmallow in sight.
Which S7 Edge is best for:
- Band 12 LTE and VoLTE access
- Unlocked bootloader
I know the AT&T version has unlocked bootloader, but does it have Band 12 access?
Should I get the International version?
If I go International and it has the Exynos (sp) processor I pretty much won't have access to ROMs... Is that correct?
Thanks!
No North American Qualcomm SOC-equipped S7 has an unlocked bootloader. If you want to root, you'll need the international version (or the Chinese Qualcomm version, but that likely brings other issues).
Thank you very much, I appreciate it!

Which version?

Hey all, I currently have Note 4 N910T. I was looking at s7e, my son just got att version. Really nice phone.
But my question being because i like rooting and dev stuff. Which version is best for these things. I was looking at the 935U. Which is most open romable? Snapdragon or Exynos?
Thanks for your responses!
I can buy the U version for about same $ maybe cheaper than F version. Plus it still has warranty
You cannot root or rom if you have the S7 Edge snapdragon version.
Only the Exynos version can have root.
Good luck.. Have a great day.
Plus, if you will root or change ROMs, you'll loose your warranty anyway (because of knox).
If you live in the US or China, the Snapdragon variant is better because of the 4G bands. If you live elsewhere, get the Exynos version (also because what the friend said above).
