Samsung galaxy tab E 9.6 (SM-T560NU) broken by Kingroot app - Samsung Galaxy Tab E Questions & Answers

Hey all, I did something stupid and tried to root my tablet using an app called kingroot so i could see about getting some apps to store stuff on the sdcard (comics purchases) instead of using the 8Gb that my tablet had free of the internal 16Gb it is supposed to have.
I received a message when I restarted the tabet:
Custom binary blocked by FAP
Secure Fail: Kernel
and the yellow triangle with exclamation point.
I just bought this tablet and I don't think the extended warranty I spent $50 for covers this.
I would like to fix the tablet back to factory settings or atleast unroot it to make it work again.
This tablet was purchased in Canada so I would need the version for the tablets sold up here. It came with Lollipop but I am not sure what version.
Can anyone help me fix my tablet?
EDIT: I am slowly downloading the canada firmware from Sammobile, I hope it is the right one... got ODIN and the usb drivers installed on my windows 10 laptop...
Edit 2: fixed. Tablet working again.

Awesome. Currently downloading stock firmware. Holy hell speeds this slow shouldn't be allowed in 2016. Anyways, I found this thread scouring Google, and figured I'd bump it just so I can add a faster download link when I finish my download. This will be for the T560NUUEU1AOH.

Do u have mega link for t560xxuoaok1 plz

I do not have that specific one, no. Sorry.

OEM Lock
You forgot to turn the OEM lock off in settings. I did it the first time I rooted my Tab E. CF-Auto Root used to work, but Samsung F'd most most people's rooted devices up.

Anyone know how to lose the Nook crap? After downloading and installing this firmware, my Galaxy Tab E thinks it's a Tab E NOOK... of which I am somewhat less than thrilled... if I wanted a NOOK, I'd have bought a NOOK.

and a really important advice: NEVER buy extended warranty if u plan on rooting your device.

[Q] SM-N900V Demo unit or "4G Test Device" Help with Rooting and installing a ROM
This is back story if you want to get to the meat of the problem you can skip this paragraph:
Ok so I've done ROOTING and ROMing a few times now, with my first phone being the Samsung intercept, then the HTC EVO 4G, then it was a Nook color, then the Galaxy SII, and then I bought a Nexus and loved its Vanilla Android goodness.... but that was too small so I got myself a Note 3... I work at Verizon retailer (I'm sorry in advance) since I did a good job last month and the new Note4 came out, the owner gave me the Demo unit of the Samsung Note 3... it has never been updated because the Verizon servers does not see it as a Note 3, they see it as a "4G Test Device" even getting it turned on was a hassle since the system did not detect it as a phone more like a Jetpack I had to start up my servace with my Nexus, but the strange thing is Straight Talk (At&T) saw it fine as a Note 3... Verizon has total control of its updates and pushes them to phones as needed... mine will not update since the server does not know its a Note... SOoo I've gone back in forth from Verizon to Samsung and one just keeps pointing the finger at the other blaming each other saying that the other one is the one that needs to fix it in their system... I'm 90% sure its Samsung since they report the devices as they are made... but I digress the MAIN reason I wanted the update was for the firmware updates, but I have seen them KILL some of the V Notes signals, so maybe this is a blessing... I DO want to put a new ROM on this phone, but I'm a little worried that maybe its "different" then the other Verizon Note 3's and I could brick the device... yet I'd like to try since I am stuck with stock 4.3 and REALLY REALLY want a Google play edition type ROM on my device, something that is totaly Vanilla (GOD Verion has a ton of crapware) with some pen features of course
So since this is a Demo unit or "4G Test device" I wanted to throw out all the numbers here and have some of you check them, and or tell me if you have ever rooted and ROMed one of these... I'm guessing its the same device with some beta firmware or maybe just launch firmware. About phone goes as follows:
Device name: SM-N900v
Model number: SM-N900V
ANDROID VERSION: 4.3
BASEBAND VERSION: N900VVRUBMHV
KERNEL VERSION: 3.4.0 [email protected] #1 TUE Sep 3 23:50:17 KST 2013
BUILD NUMBER: JSS15J.N900VVRUBMHV
SELinux status: Enforcing
HARDWARE VERSION: N900V.07
What I am looking to do is Root then install the closest 5.0 or 4.4.4 ROM to stock as possible without loosing the PEN and remote apps... The google play store has NOTHING good for IR remote apps, but I can live without that... I can't live without using my sPEN... anyway if someone with more knowhow can check these numbers and get back to me that would be AWESOME I'd like to do this right away...
maybe a link or two would be awesome if its a standard Note 3 I'm not asking for a step by step here if its not needed...

I would bet, if you're at a Verizon company store...the dude in the back could flash it for you. Or you could flash it yourself via Odin or Kies. But first, I would simply try a factory reset on it.

I work for an inderect premium retailer and I'm the guy who flahses phones but even kies is not showing an update... That's why I wanted someone with the same phone to check the numbers and see if they differ... Mainly for root and custom ROM and we all know kies and Verizon software won't do that... I can follow one of the many posts on this site to do all this but I'm a bit scared that my phone is different in some way...

Other than the firmware/ROM it's not different. Use Odin to flash to a a release ROM but NOT to the latest NJ6. I would suggest NC4 and then use Towelroot to root.
As usual, it is up to YOU what you do to your phone and if anything goes wrong..no one but you is responsible.
All the info you need is in this thread

Your current firmware is pre-release, that's why it shows no update available.

Yes, the bootloader is locked. No, you can't use Safestrap until you're rooted. You shouldn't root until you get on a stock release ROM...again, NC4 is your best bet.
Read the linked thread.

If your afraid of bricking learn how to get out of a brick and all recovery info beforehand if that's too much of a hassle don't bother. Honestly you can't get 5.0 or 4.4.4. On note 3 there are no such roms. 4.4.4 is said to be unrootable. There are good vanilla roms but do research beforehand because with you saying you think it needs safe strap tells us you aren't 100 percent sure with what your doing. Yes you need busy box and safe strap and towel root is your easiest way to root and safest. Your numbers are the same don't know why you would think there not? Just be careful. You don't need a paperweight just because you want stock android.

Like I said I've done this a bunch of times, but I was asking since my firmware was A BETA unit and I wanted to make sure it was compatible with the same methods shown on this site. When I wrote this I did not read anything about the Note 3 yet and thats where the safe strap question came from... I wasnt going to read all the forms on it to find out I needed something totally different in the way of rooting or files.
As for making it a paperweight YES it would be a BETTER paperweight then full of Verizon Bloatware I refuse to use a phone with verizon software on it since I do work for Verizon and I have seen what this software is really for. Thanks for the concern but its SUPER easy, I ask all the questions so I don't get hit with anything later I did not plan on, I have never bricked a device yet, not even a soft brick... and I don't plan to.

super easy to update it if you just want that like I do... go to http://www.sammobile.com/ and join (its free) then just enter the model then follow instructions... only do that if you just want the update and no root... if you're looking for root then follow that post the guy did up a few posts;...

SM-G530T1 Stock or Cutstom ROM

Okay, I have a Samsung Galaxy Prime with Metro PCS. I was just texting the other day and then my phone reset and I got a black screen saying Blocked by Binary FTP. So yes i made the mistake of bricking my phone and flashing the T-Mobiles SM-G530T firmware. I've looked everywhere for the Stock Rom but can't find it and not sure if there are any Customer Roms for this device. Can someone get me going in the right direction or am i best with just sendng it back to Samsung and letting them flash it?

I know it says "Core Prime" but I assure you its the Grand Prime SM-G530T Stock. it's just a little typo.
It is the T-Mobile version but compatible with MetroPCS 100%. Metro PCS is under T-Mobile in the first place, pretty much the same thing except for the Start-Up & the apps. But it works! & the developer(s) that made the package did an amazing job!
If anyone needs further info feel free to contact me! I would be happy to assist in any way possible.

so i bought this phone about 3 months ago (SM-G530T1) and i bricked it 3 days after i bought it by installing busybox un-rooted. still not sure how that happened but that is not the point, the point is i flashed the only stock firmware i could find (at the time) and it just so happened to be a mis-marked T-mobile firmware package. i didn't let it bother me though and continued to gain root and flashed ShinySides [AOF8]. It worked like a charm! I was just running T-mobile FW on a MetroPCS phone and it just got confusing if you have to call costomer service lol. so i made sure it worked in every way and removed all the bloatware. the only problem i had was with the hotspot feature, it had a mind of its own and that got annoying but i dont really use it that often so i could live with that. the phone was a champ! so i went to find a recovery or twrp. i was looking and found TWRP 2.8.7.0...it was not for the SM-G530T1 but it sorta worked and when i say sorta i mean it does pretty much everything you want it to do except BACK UP FILES! Lol! (at least for me anyways) so i ran that with the T-Mobile software for a few months until lastnight... see I didnt know about the failure to back up my files issue so you have to understand that i fully expected the TWRP Backup files to work and last night when i went to restore one of the BUps it informed me that i had no OS anymore !! oh man i wanted to puke! Upon further inspection i realized that it was only backing up about 20% of my system only and i should have noticed but i didn't expect that and that is how we learn the difference between knowledge and wisdom right? OK so at that point i had a bricked phone (MY DAILY DRIVER i might add) and i was not to happy to lose all my personal info either, so i went back on XDA to see what i could do. i was very pleased to see that there was now a working MetroPCS Package compliments of TSAR3000 and I went to work. I flashed it via Oden and was happy to see the familiar MetrPCS logo again, but i needed to re-root it so i used the ShinySides [AOF8] just to see if it would worked with the metro Firmware and it did! it trips KNOX but i could care less cause i dont want that crap anyways and i get rid of it right away lol. I debated if i sould put this next part in the message but i decided i would because people should be weary of programs and roots applications and remember that this is the true reason we root and unlock our phones to begin with... so Im not a paranoid person by nature but i dont trust King root or any of those one click apps companies because of some article i read a while back about how the Chinese root apps and downloads could possibly contain spyware but i never found any truth to it but from what i do know about the Chinese government i dont take the chance but its my opinion and i like the good old fashion (though a little more involved) flashing of SuperSU or whatever you like. So yes if you want to use ShinySides root procedure do it cause it works with metro just fine. Good luck.

Put the file in AP slot and the metro pit file in the box marked pit and start. And in about 4 or 5 min your phone will reboot and the if you want root and recovery flash Mr Sunnyside's trap kernel AOF8 then after that flash recovery TWRP SM-G530H it's the one recovery I've been able to find that works.. Good luck

i wish someone would have been kind to me and gave me this little rundown when i started rooting my phones way back in the day. direct and to the point good job! anyways i hope there is no issues... i dont see why there would be since i have been running this exact recipe for 7 days and i must say its a rare moment in the phone modifying world when you can say "perfect" this is one of those times... now if we could only get some rom up in here it would really be awesome. hey i jus want to warn you about that TWRP your about to use. i know it to have bugs personally.... the main issue is that it doesnt back up your Data Boot Or recovery or Cache LOL, but everything else works fine so far. it will however back up about 20% of your system and shut of LOL (Basically just enough to add insult to injury) so my advice is use it cause its the best we have but BACKUP SOMEWHERE ELSE! just use the TWRP to flash or do the little weird TWRP things you gotta do K? Good luck!

I'm new to this forum. I've soft bricked my Grand Prime, flashed it, put a custom Rom on it and installed TWRP. What I'm trying to do is find the device tree specifically for this phone. If there isn't, how would I go ahead and build it from scratch?
It wont work

Root for SM-t377a (ATT Galaxy Tab-E)

Is there a way to root the galaxy tab E that comes from AT&T? I've found a TWRP image for the SM-T377P version but nothing for SM-T377A which is what I have. I was thinking they might be cross compatible but if they were, I'm sure TWRP would have listed it on their site.
The option to OEM unlock is in the dev settings list so I'm thinking I can flash the recovery but I'm not sure on that.

Kingroot can't root my Galaxy Tab SM-T377A runnning 6..0.1 Marsmallow, I just want to uninstall or freeze those AT&T bloatware but I guess I have to wait coz I can't return it anymore...Thanks ..
Worst tablet ever. Att can't even get their software updates right. I can't use this as a phone because the stupid number sync software keep giving an error and no one at att knows how to fix it. I've tried different dialers and freezing them. Nothing works. Now I have com.android.phone is not responding and their is no firmware download anywhere to fix it. Now I have to factory reset the whole damn tablet lol. I'm going to sell the and get a Sprint unlocked version. What a shame. This tablet had potential too

You can Google "replace Kingroot with supersu". There is a 4 step method for replacing the temp Kingroot with chainfires SuperSu. Even if bootloader is locked. Just found one of these in Facebook marketplace for $50.

I think this tablet sucks, too. AT&T hoodwinked me into getting this thing, and now I'm stuck with it for 2 years. It's slow and choppy--I'd rather have an iPad. My "Next" contract is just about up, and I can't wait to dump their ass for another carrier.
Agree. Hoodwink is exactly what they did. This tablet is SLOW and the bloatware is chewing up RAM. I'm about to dump it for something else. Was hoping to be able to root it so I could kill off some of the bloat, but no joy....
-Z
I knew I should have checked here first... but at least I can return it... I figured a device of its age would for sure have custom roms and root. Stupid at&t! Guess I'm back on the search for a LTE tablet that works on at&t for under $300
Hi, recently I bought a cheap AT&T Tab E. It has only 4GB internal storage instead of 16, weird? The tab is almost useless because it has almost no space for new files/apps. Anyone knows what's wrong with the tab? Thanks

You can Google "replace Kingroot with supersu". There is a 4 step method for replacing the temp Kingroot with chainfires SuperSu. Even if bootloader is locked. Just found one of these in Facebook marketplace for $50.

Totally new to rooting in general, and researching isn't going well as I don't have any context/experience yet...and the vocabulary is new. I have (literally just bought a few days ago) this version of the Tab E...and I'm trying to root it so I can use it more effectively as a head unit in my 03 F150. I'm finding out I bought the wrong unit to do this reasonably easily.
Would you mind posting a quick walkthrough of how this works? Install KingRoot and then replace it with Supersu to get the tablet permarooted?
Thanks!

Not a big fan of youtube instructional videos, first one available, not sure if its good........
https://www.google.com/search?q=rep...0j7&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#kpvalbx=1
This is a guide with a one-click .bat file to supposedly do this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/a310/general/how-to-remove-replace-kingroot-kinguser-t3308989
Directions for manual replacement:
https://missingtricks.net/replace-kingroot-kinguser-with-supersu-superuser-android-guide/
Remember, this is for you replacing "TEMP ROOT", not when a device is permanently rooted! This means being in the position of Kingroot barely getting temporary root that will be lost when device is rebooted!!! It involves using Flashify (by Chainfire as well) and authorizing it's root ability to flash.
As in every OP on XDA, do so at "YOUR OWN RISK".........

[Unmodified] Pre-rooted firmware for SM-G361F

Hi everyone,
Today I am posting this thread because of some idiots who are now sharing pre-rooted firmwares for SM-G361F that are full of bloats.
I am sick of that, this is why I upload the archive of the first pre-rooted firmware I got that was at least clean.
You can download it here: https://mega.nz/#!oqpRhZJZ!B18uTiB3TH-QfChoqjgWCNmaPjqInPZbFyI4u9-T8s4
Note: This firmware is ONLY for Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-G361F devices with AOG1 build.
Of course I don't own the firmware and I didn't root it, I just keep the right to upload it.

Although I have no use for it, I did test it out and...
...I bricked my device.
Nah, I'm just pulling your leg! I tested her out and she is perfectly functional. Much better than that, what was her name? Andro-Woman? Or was it Andro-Man?
She seems like a woman to me.
Much appreciated and thanks alot, Hank Cyclone, which is your new nickname.

Pre rooted
Hey,can you find SM-G361F pre rooted version for this device?
BaseBand G361FXXU1AQA1
Build number G361FXXU1AQD1
I can't find it anywhere
I love what you're doing. All other pre-rooted ROMS are full of trash. Could you make it for G361FXXU1APA3?
Hum... OK guys thanks for the love but I have to remember you something.
I am not a developer yet and truly not a ROM unbloater: I didn't "disinfect" the firmware, I just reuploaded it (well after a fast check, I found I've already prevented about that, just read the thread please...)
So no dudes I can't do that, sorry. I COULD eventually do that, removing bloats and extract system image to make a flashable shouldn't be as complicated, but I do not have time.
Sorry to disappoint you.
Hey Atronid, you rock! I have the AOL1 but intend to give it a try cause I already rooted it but it's full of bloast. Do you know if I can flash another pre-rooted firmware considering I did this already? could this be harmul? -brickful? )-

I don't think doing this will brick your device, but careful. Ensure the usal requirements are here (OEM unlock, USB debug just in case...) and you made a backup, also in case something goes wrong.
But if you're rooted you got plenty tools that can remove bloats from your device, but I hope you're not easily scared because once removed system may spam that the bloat you just uninstalled has stopped. You can get rid of that by just rebooting your phone.
So you don't need to reflash any firmware if you just want to clean your phone up.
Yes, you're right. The problem was that the apps I tried to remove other apps weren't the right ones, but now that's sorted thankfully On the other hand, as I couldn't find an Android 6 ROM for my phone (not even a sorry recovery.... ) in the end I set my mobile to install new apps on the sd card by default. Actually it works similarly to the app Link to SD, so a part of it is on the SD card and the rest (like the data it generates) in the device storage, despite all the tutorials sell this method as "Installation directly on your SD card". You need a computer and official Android development tools (SDK). In case it's of any interest for anyone I'll include the tutorial I followed, but it turns out I'm not allowed to post links yet, so the title of the article was Cómo instalar aplicaciones DIRECTAMENTE en la tarjeta SD from androidjefe website. In English, How to: Force Android to automatically install apps to SD card from softonic website
I hope it helps

Read first post. I don't think it will work if you have a build other than AOG1.
And you should not use TWRP to flash like this. Use Odin and Download mode instead.
Will this rooted firmware work with my SM-G361F phone? Need advice...
Hi there,
Will this rooted version work with my phone?
I'm new here and need some help and advice re Rooting this Samsung phone SM-G361F - I'M NO TECHIE but have ability to following instructions and make connections etc. My phone details are below.
Baseband G361FXXU1ASC1
Build LMY48B.G361FXXU1AQD1
Patch level is 2017-4-01
Security software version ASKS 1.2_161011
I did once try rooting a Samsung tablet using Odin and it all worked OK, but that was a while ago.
How important is it to get the identical build or baseband? Anything else I need to check?
I was trying initially trying to change the phone's MAC address, as I was experimenting with the phone, however I could not use an App to do this as it stated phone that the phone needs Rooting first for App to work. Also tried Terminal Emulator app but it kept failing to work as I was probably, unable to input the text commands required correctly.
I hope someone can please help and advise me on this.
M
Kind regards

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime (SM-J727T1) Metro PCS Variant

Hello everyone, this is my first post so please take it easy on me. I have read a lot of threads regarding this phone but haven't seen or heard much about this specific device. From what I read was our BOOTLOADER is locked by the manufacturer & so far that's the major issue? Anyways, id love to see this phone get rooted and enjoy the perks of root.
Model Number: SM-J727T1
ANDROID VERSION: 7.0
BUILD NUMBER: NRD90M.J727T1UVU1AQG1
I can't find any root method what so ever.
Is anyone working on it?
Wondering if there is a similar method like the root on my j3 (cricket) granted that was a touchy root but worked aside from flashlight button not working and changing setting in build.prop to save wifi pass.
Love to see this j727t1 (metropcs) rooted and hopefully a twrp.
Dig in. It's going to be a long wait...
So I can tell. We aren't getting anywhere but I don't know what or where to start working on something. I'd like to develop or study how rooting works or just how to be able to be active in this community. If anyone has pointers please let me know.
Adb might work
I read something about using adb to unlock the bootloader. Only ever used adb once to root LG Stylo 2 it did work but there's a few steps and I don't have access to a computer long enough to find out if that would work on this phone. What about looking at other Android devices that have locked bootloader and see how they got past it.
There's no root for this device. Also, I doubt we will ever see root for this device. It has very small user base. I got mine for free with a free Amazon 1 year activation key, so no complaints.
When turning it on in cold weather, the task switch menu pops up and stays there for couple seconds, which is kind of annoying. Only happens when left in a cold environment. I was looking for root to disable soft-keys and enable on-screen menu key, but no luck.
Completely blown away by how they seem to neuter this j7prime phone which is suppose to be the successor? Hope to see root but it also doesn't seem likely as well.
Anyone know what case works on this phone? seems the ebay listing for j7prime doesn't exactly fit this phone; not surprising anymore since a brand name seems to be different across providers and regions!? Gonna have to buy a non carrier phone from now on.
Umm cases are sometimes difficult to come by but I know they sell cases at the mall near my house at some kiosk, also at Metro PCS, but I bought my case at Wal-Mart maybe about 2 months ago. It was actually an otter box and fits like a glove. This phones decent, sometimes can lag but otherwise I gave up on root hopes.
Only thing that could work
Ok how to do it, but some one could download the firmware from sammobile or what ever. Open the files and find out what codes to put where to have rooted firmware zip back up and upload to the internet that could be the only way around not having oem unlocked. I have downloaded firmware like this for other devices but Idk how to do the to do that exactly.
I made a thread about this already, I searched but might not have used all of the correct criteria to come to this thread at that time but this is what I found.

It's pointless, whoever posted that obviously doesn't own the device and hasn't got a clue.
All it's likely in succeeding to do do is soft brick the device if it even flashes at all which is unlikely.
I see unlocked US version has OEM unlock option after 14 days of first activation. There may be a hope to root with Magisk as long as getting correct ROM and boot.img from there.

Nope not gonna happen. Bootloader is locked.
So i subscribed to this thread just to see if people really like this phone. After going to Metropcs and seeing what the latest phones. Turns out that i can't find a good reason to upgrade from the J700. No super Amoled, no front flash, still the same screen size and after playing with it. It just feels like a downgrade, i don't know. The only good thing about it is that it is black and has 32gb of storage which i thought it was going to be different from the 16GB version. Nope, same hardware with 32gb. I suppose the cpu is faster than the J700, but by how much faster?

Picked up a J727t1 as a backup phone for my note 8. So far it seems fairly decent. I only want root so I can get rid of the MetroPCS splash screen and some built in apps. Aside from that, it runs surprisingly smooth. It's odd that there's no fingerprint reader though.
I'll just have to keep my eye out in this thread. Hopefully someone finds a way to root
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
You can debloate, just downgrade to aqg1 and use a root package disabler cause they don't work on current firmware from my tests cause Knox kicks it for me. With it debloated, it eats on average 20% ram idle. You do lose restore from Samsung's side doing it which is a bummer.
Also, I use substratum and Google apps to get a black theme all around (swift black) with Nova launcher and 523 dpi. Sure paid apps, but worth it looking like stock Android.
No root, but there are work arounds if you only Google how to's and what not's
So you're telling me the j727t1 can be downgraded and rooted ( you mention the root package disabler )?
I was just researching to see if there's any unbranded firmware we could flash but I've seen where some have tried in other j7 models and lost 16 of their 32gb storage ( likely wrong pit file? ).
Id even be ok with stock TMobile firmware flashed but it seems all theirs are 16gb models too ( j727t vs j727t1 ). Didn't want to try using Comsey Odin with the TMobile package until I see something more definitive as to whether it works or not.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Sorry, just a package disabler. Just so use to calling them "root" blah blah. Downgrading does work, I'm just not to sure how far back you can go. Plus all our firmware is 7.0. I'll download the first fw sammobile has to give a few root methods a try if it flashes
Yeah I've heard about flashing other carrier firmwares do work, just haven't tried myself as the 16-32 gb mess is in my way.
I know what I did was a pain, but I feel it's worth it. I only miss root for flashing roms when I needed breaks from the same old
where's the link to root SM-J727T1? This phone does not have oem unlock option so bootloader is locked. Unless an oreo update changes that; I wouldn't mess with it.
I am watching this thread even though i do not own this phone. The fact that there is no oem unlock on this phone makes me wonder if this is how it is going to be on future phones. I was reading regarding about anti-theft security on phones. By not having the option to toggle to oem unlock makes the phone more secure by forcing frp to be enabled once you link your google account to your phone. But this still does not explain why international phones do have this option available though.
In a nutshell, no oem unlock=no root or anything custom. If this is where Samsung is taking things from here on out. It is going to be a long time before anyone can figure out how to force unlock. Otherwise, no more root on Samsung devices.
