No Sprint or Verizon model? - Sprint HTC 10 Questions & Answers

http://www.androidheadlines.com/201...boomsound-ships-may-no-sprint-or-verizon.html
Just saw this posted a few others places a few hours back, let's hope that CDMA just wasn't listed and that come the 12th this will not confirm a very horrible possibility. I absolutely do not want the GS7 or the G5 due to all the negative things I have heard about battery, ect.

I was actually thinking about looking up the FCC stuff after I posted it, so that is a little bit more reassuring.

Technobuffalo now running with that story too, let's hope it's just speculation. I can't believe HTC wouldn't release its flagship on all carriers though. Have they not seen how badly this hurt Amazon and Palm with pushing their hardware when it wasn't that popular at the time?

Its normal for manufatures to not release 1 version for all bands and stuff... 1 device will be for cdma and other for the rest, i wouldnt waste my time on a place called techno buffalo

This is my last hope of upgrade, if it has an IR Blaster... The S7s do not, and i'm kinda off by the LG G5.
I would love to return to HTC... Those was some of my first smartphones...HTC Titan, HTC Evo.
I really hope they don't shoot themselves... It seems like this would really hurt them if true.

This is what I'm hoping-- or at the very worst, the first round of M10s being GSM only, and then a subsequent CDMA release. Due to how cheap my Unlimited / All plan is, I really won't be leaving Sprint unless they go out of business :good:
I'm pretty positive that, even though Verizon is a pain in the butt to provide for, they are far too large of a player for HTC to ignore. Sprint isn't as much of a concern, but they still represent a significant number of possible sales.

No, what is bogus, is that these companies even release multiple versions in the first place. This whole fragmented hardware thing is a bit on the retarded end of the common sense spectrum. Lets hope that HTC has the common sense to just build one device that will just work on all networks. If Motorola can make the Pure X edition that works on all. Then surly HTC can as well. Again, fragmentation is crap. And is leads to far more tech wast. Also, it makes manufacturing far more expensive. I am goingbtobhave to say that if it is the case that Verizon and Sprint wanted to play the you need to pay us to allow your devices on our network games. Then HTC probably said screw them. I would not blame them either. I am on the Verizon network. And quite frankly, I would love to see them just fail hard and big. Not that they will. As they are protected by government. But, it would be cool to see it happen. They price gouge, take advantage of data rates and abuse manufacturers.

Expect it on Verizon the moment it is available.

Verizon is carrying this device. I just spoke with my VZW Enterprise rep, and while he couldn't give a launch date (because HTC hasn't dropped that yet), the HTC 10 is showing in their upcoming devices matrix as the replacement for the M9. My rep has never led me astray about any devices that I've asked about. He said after HTC's announcement tomorrow you will see it available for preorder.

I think Sprint is doing so bad financially that they will probably release this phone to attract new customers or lock the ones that are already with them. It won't surprise me if they try to make people getting this phone to get on the "Simply Everything Plan" for $99.00 like they did with the instinct.
ya right, i wish.....
im staying out of contract with 2 lines so that i can bargain with them when the touch pro comes out
Raphael was supposed to come to Sprint before the Diamond. It may be that the Diamond is coming to AT&T I suppose, but it seems doubtful to be coming to Sprint so soon.

not entirely true, since the CDMA Diamond and CDMA Raphael has already gone through FCC. Its up to Sprint now, who probably wont be making any fast decisions just yet, as there still dealing with a lot of **** lately. As a sprint customer I'm starting to feel worried about there future. >_> i just hope that the Korean merger well be a success. And not some cooperate flip-flop.
P.S- i could careless about the Diamond, i want that Raphael phone now!

Amen!!! I'm waiting for the touch pro myself.. I don't care too much for a phone without the keyboard, and about the internal 4gb I can care less too. I'll buy a bigger sd card if I have too and move my contents around. But we need that phone.. my mogul is good but a touch pro would be better.
I love these threads

What do you mean "not entirely true"? It is completely true: Raphael was supposed to come to Sprint before the Diamond. You're right, it is up to Sprint; but that has nothing to do with my post. Clearing the FCC doesn't mean the devices are both already ready for launch.

Probably. But the version that passed the FCC has no US 3G (AT&T or T-Mo) so odds are it will be European, though I don't know why it'd go thru the FCC if it's European. We all know Moto isn't stupid enough to release a version here without 3G
It has to pass through FCC so that it can operate in the US, for people traveling abroad and such, thus making it a "world phone".
I frankly like the way they're going with the commercial..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPYM-XTqcec
It was pretty head on advertising. Now the 'droid name is out there and more people will be asking about it. Should have been the direction T-Mo should have taken in advertising for the G1. I don't anyone is running out trying to get that new phone Whoopi Goldberg has.
I like the phone in theory... but since it's not an HTC, I don't think I could let myself get it. Is there a Motorola version of XDA?

lol this is whats holding them up according to them "complexity/unique functionality"... i couldnt wait any longer so i rooted yesterday and installed nero v3..... im glad i did it.
I've been running the leaks and couldn't be happier. Why wouldn't they make all Galaxy S devices the same besides the obvious radios for different carriers. Why not just release one version of the phone so the complexity and unique functionality would not be an issue?
I am also putting some blame on the carriers for molesting the phones with their crap too.
Ok ....so all the blame going on between Samsung & T-Mobile is really all Samsung holding it up???

Yeah, the software provided by Samsung. If Samsung's build is buggy, the carrier obviously can't approve it.
I don't know why people keep blaming the carriers. While they may insist on certain programs or functionality, the software is ultimately Samsung's responsibility.
Froyo is starting to sound like "Wolf" to me.
No way to blame the carriers here. If it was there fault, how do you explain that all other similar class phones have had froyo for 3-4 months already? How'd those all get approved?
It's all on samsung here.
They have been saying next week for over six months.....their top selling device has become less of a priority that's all there is to it.

Speaking of not all being the same.. I have gotten at least seven people to also buy Galaxy phones, but most are with Verizon or AT&T. 1) I don't support Apple and it's business thinking
2) Android is better IMO
I wouldn't buy an iPhone either, but this Froyo debacle with Samsung is really making me respect their update model (and miss Palm/HP's update model for the Pre). Android has some serious catching up to do in that department.

Maybe Sprint doesn't want to get into a war with Verizon. If they bash the Iphone, Verizon may come back with ads not only promoting the Iphone but also pointing out that they have the Iphone and high end Andoird phones. That could leave Sprint in a tough spot.

This is closer to what I think the issue is. Personally, I seriously doubt that Sprint will ever get the iPhone (who knows, though, money talks) and that the only reason they could say that about it previously was because of AT&T's network. Maybe now that it's going to be on Verizon, it will actually work as Apple wanted it to in the first place. /shrug
Maybe Sprint expects people to unlock it and bring it to Sprint's CDMA network...maybe because Sprint rents towers from Verizon it's against the contract to bad-mouth partner devices.
Speculate, speculate, speculate.

The reason there is such a delay this time around has to deal with the fact google has removed the support from cdma devices officially. This means in order to supply updates, we have to wait for sprint. Currently Sprint is bitter about the who deal. We are the ones who will suffer in the long run.
Same for why the gnex for sprint isn't out quite yet.

The release was pulled from T-mobile and never existed for AT&T. So unless you are saying those are CDMA carriers as well, your theory makes no sense. All 3 device types currently are waiting for an ICS update. Google is surely working to make that happen. But Sprint isn't holding up the release (at least not yet) because it doesn't even exist. And Google removing CDMA from ASOP has no bearing on the speed at which they provide the update. The process is the same. The problem is the lack of understanding of why CDMA was pulled from ASOP and the sensationalist articles spewing incorrect information has probably confused you.
Tired of waiting..

I guess you work with stuff on a daily basis? This is a google phone, if you don't think GSM variants are not affected by google move to drop cdma support your mistaken. There is alot more that goes on behind the scenes the push code > compile > update. Countless documents, this need to get removed, shuffled and put back into order once again. Instead of google being about to push updates with the help of carriers, google and the nexus s is now fragmented. To ensure a proper release cycle it will take longer then expected. Pulling a phone from official support isn't like dropping your kids off at school.

Actually, Google didn't drop support for the CMDA variants except in ASOP. So there is no change in the way they rolled out updates. So you are saying they pulled the buggy release because they anticipated dropping CDMA months later? I guess the AT&T version didn't get the release in December because they were dropping CDMA support several months later? I feel like you are drawing conclusions that aren't even there.
