[Tool] Python Auto-Remove Bloatware (all os's) - Fire General

Hi everyone,
I wanted to work on my Python skills a little bit, and decided to build this tool that removes all bloatware from amazon, rooted or unrooted.
I also included a root script if you wanted to root as well. This is untested, and incomplete. I would like to hear your feedback whether or not to finish this.
The bloatware removal is fully functional, and sped up my device astoundingly.
The upside to this tool versus other tools is that fact that it is so clean, and one script fits all. (I have not tested, probably won't run on windows without adding .exe, if someone wants me to fix it let me know).

For windows, replace adb with adb.exe and add it to the assets folder.

There is an error, search and replace ".success" for ".info" and it should run decently.

Just putting a mark here

First, thanks for putting the work into this script, if I am already rooted and have google play services installed will there be any sort of conflict/issue if I run this?
Second, how can I tell what is/isn't being removed from the Fire? What some consider bloat others might actually use and vice versa.

I am going to upgrade this tool very much.

Ok i got Hulu working on my Thunderbolt by following these steps.
1. Download Flash 10.2 on your phone, make sure its set to not auto update
2. Download http://www.mediafire.com/file/en3tj77er9ucrqp/libflashplayer.so
3. Use Root Explorer or ADB to put the file in: /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib
4. If it asks if you want to overwrite the file chose yes, i know it will if you use root explorer, not sure about adb cause i didnt use it.
Hope you all enjoy!

Hi There.
Just re-install the stock rom from here: www.pointofview-online.com/default2.php?content_id=36
You can also use the advent vega stock rom from here: www.myadventvega.co.uk/
Good luck.
Just to say I managed only to re-install original firmware. I DL it here http://downloads.pointofview-online.com/Drivers/ . Officialy this is SEC SOC Test board and it is NOT recognised by any of recognised drivers or update softwares. It is easy rooted device with Z4root but it can't be put in recovery mode as It should be. Simply it is not recognised as Nvidia or similar tablet (drivers, too, although they installed correctly) just SEC SOC drivers. Special burning tool is used to burn firmware and OS on it.
If someone knows exact procedure for upgrading it with different ROM i'm here
It use IMG extensions for it's needed software which is delivered by DL package.
Regards,

SMS issue

Hi,
After installing a new custom ROM (I don't know the name of it, and can't seem to find the original file), when texting someone, the screen jumps to the very top of the messaging thread. Which makes it very difficult to edit or proof read what I'm typing.
I'm pretty certain the ROM matters, and I'm currently looking into it. However, it is one that strips Android down to the bare minimals removing sprint apps etc.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
Thanks!

How do you flash a ROM and not which one it is?
BTW, go to phone info and you'll probably find the name of the ROM
I flashed it a while ago and don't recall the name.
Here's the software information in settings:

Any ideas? I was wondering if there are different versions of the stock messaging app?

Friend that pic is a bit small. I would do a full wipe and flash a new Rom. I use amon ra with great results.
try this...
Use root explorer, and make sure it is set to R/W mode (read/write).
Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db and delete that file, then restart your phone.
After the restart, you should be able to send and receive MMS messages.
Hope this helped ya, worked like a charm for me!

[Q] Can I use my Nexus 7 to flash boot.img to my One X?

As some of you probably know thanks to the crap way in which htcdev unlocks your bootloader and with no s-off for the One X, in order to flash custom ROMs/Kernels the boot.img must be flashed outside of recovery in fastboot.
I've been doing this with my laptop but when I can be away and on the move for extended periods I could really be doing without keeping my laptop on me for doing this process everytime my ROM gets updated.
Therefore I was wondering if there was any way in which my Nexus 7 could be utlized to perform the command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
I've a feeling I'm thinking waaay too far out the box on this one but thought I'd ask anyway.
Hmmm... interesting idea... I think the only option, truly contained within those two devices, would be if you could get Ubuntu running on the N7.
Good luck,
Billy

MXPE MM6.0 Multi-Window - Does it have it?

I'm still on 5.1.1 and I used Multi-Window on my old Note devices daily for work. I found a temporary workaround (although it's still a MAJOR hassle without it) and this is the Android M feature I've been dying for. Pleeease, please please tell me it made it into the final release for this device. Did it?

Out of the box, no...But supposedly this is a way to enable it. Someone would have to try that out and report back I guess.

Works ok...

Yeah, I installed 6.0, and tried it out. It works... kind of. It's more incomplete than I had hoped and won't work for my purposes. oh well.
If you have root you can enable it easy with a root explore.
