[Q] T-mobile G2 in Canada

Hello Community,
I recently purchased an unlocked t-mobile G2 for use on the Bell and Wind network.
Im thinking of rooting my device to enable the ability to uninstall all the t-mobile bloatware as well as the carrier IQ software.
I have two questions:
1. Being a tmobile phone on a Canadian network - should tmobile push an update, will I receive that or will I have to wait for my provider to push it?
2. I assume rooting the device will disable any hope of receiving and update regardless of US or Canadian carrier?

Um tmobile won't work on the bell version, you can make calls but not 3g. ...it Will work on wind tough. ..

Thank you for the response, However I must disagree with your initial statement. I currently have the tmobile G2 on Bell and I am getting 4G/LTE service.

Hmm I wonder if it works the other way around then. ..I didn't think Pentaband was unlocked on this phone I'll try with one of my friends wind cards on my Rogers g2

I have a question, I am currently on wind with t mobile lg g2 but my wifi tethering does not work. it shows my laptop is connected but no internet access. not sure why. does yours work? thanks

I think mobile locks that feature on stock rims

S5 only gets 2 bars on international sim

I bought a verizon s5 and am using in dominican republic. I had a nexus 5. When i put sim in i only get 2 bars always and my 4g speed seems very low for being in the exact same place that my nexus got good signal?
Any clues on why?

No clue, in fact there is not do much you could do without root and service menu locked down.
I've been using this Verizon s5 in Colombia and Peru using local sims and no issues at all. Why don't you try another carrier?

Perhaps the Sim you have is not optimized for use with the S5.. Perhaps a new Sim is needed.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 with a Colombian SIM
Am planning to use my S5 in Colombia, mostly Bogota, Villavicencio & Cartagena. Which companies (movistar?)SIM , and type/plan do you recomend? Any instructions as to how to do the "root and service menu locked down"?
I appreciate your help.

Yeah, they just did starting with the one that rolled off the production line today at 12:30 in China. /s
No they haven't, there hasn't been an update recently, and even if they're was they probably won't since there is no reason they should. The customers who want unlocked bootloader are few, and unlocking it causes all kinds of problems for Verizon in customer support.

TMO S7 Edge Root/Roms?

Wondering if there's root and Rom options for the T-Mobile S7 Edge. Had to surrender my Note7 so I picked up this bad boy. Great device but I'd like to root and flash something a little lighter and faster. Any response is greatly appreciated!

I would check the tmo forums, just a guess though

I did and only one listed in all of the carrier forums/threads which I find really odd.

Trying to use a Verizon s10 plus on T-Mobile network

I put my T-Mobile sum card in my Verizon Samsung galaxy s10 plus and I can't get it to set up.Is there something special that I need to do? The Verizon s10 plus is sum unlocked.could soneone please help me out with this.I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!!

If it is like when I went from Sprint to T-mobile with my S8+, I used ODIN to load the T-mobile version of the software instead of Sprint. Imagine both Verizon and T-mobile use the same exact phone, but different software versions. Verizon is CDMA and T-mobile is GSM so unless the phone has both, it wouldn't work - but in your case it should work

Do I need to go and personally ad the t-mobile's access point names or should it automatically update to the correct ones once I install the t-mobile sim card.because after I install the t-mobile sim card it says on the bottom of the screen to call Verizon.I don't know how to get it to work on t-mobiles network. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I get signal from T-Mobile for about 2-3 minutes and then I get sorry your device can't be activated on another carrier's network right now call Verizon.please is there anyway around this? I payed $700.00 for this device and if I can't use it I'm really in bad shape.I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks In advance!!!

I didn't have to do anything when I loaded the tmobile version, it was part of the build.
