Playstation 4 running on GearVR through remote play - Samsung Galaxy S7 Guides, News, & Discussion

Playstation released their new RemotePlay today and so I figured I'd get it working on my GearVR. I used the app TriniusVR to stream the remote play from pc to the gearVR and it works! It doesn't have head tracking but it's still a pretty bad ass choice.

If you try this Trinius VR has to be doing compatibility mode, not fast

Wow early playstation VR

To do remote play with PS4 it makes you hook up your ps4 controller to the computer by way of usb. You then use the controller to control the remote play which is piped to the GearVR to view.

Ok, now, how about bypassing the pc and wifi directly from ps4 pro to remote play app?

[Q] Trinus Gyre for playing oculus rift games (Cardboard)

I have a galaxy s4 and I have bought google cardboard reacently. Before buying it I researched about how to connect my phone to the pc as an oculus rift. Than I found this app called tyrinus gyre. I have maneged to play some non oculus games but they were extremely laggy. I have tried different methods like plying directly from oculus game bu the problem is that the app bends the veiw to two different parts for playing non oculus games. The app has also an limelight(game streaming app for geforce) support but I have a laptop with GTX640M LE and geforce supports 660 or higher. Is there any app you can reccomend or way to connect limelight, or just fixing the app. Also the other problem that despite the gyroscope works perfectly with the original cardboard app I have sirius problems at trinus gyre when connected to pc. The pitch works good but the yaw is somehow is not realy working.

new update for Trinus Gyre is coming very soon with some new features and fixes that might improve your experience. To reduce latency, try to use usb connection and lower the game resolution. And for better support, come over to the TG forums
Trinus works great once you us the cardboard for gear vr app to switch over. You can even use a 90 degree usb to get usb pass through to work. You can also try with stream theater which allows for head tracking using the gear's motion sensors. I made a tutorial on how to do this on my blog but since I am under the comment count I can't link to it yet. If you are interested check the gear vr subreddit.

Ultimate media consumption?

Has anybody had any luck or even tried to get these three things working on this.
Ps4 remote play
Pc streaming using limelight
Kodi (xbmc) as media center
I have both ps4 remote play and limelight to stream my pc games from my pc working on my nexus 10 tablet and I connect that to my tv using the hdmi out. But since it is a tablet I don't wanna leave it hooked up to a tv. Would rather have a micro console of some sorts to do that. Plus I wanna plug in an external hard drive and play movies and tv shows off it and onto my tv. So I figured the mojo may work well.
Also has anybody successfully paired more than one moga controller to the mojo?
Thoughts? suggestions?
Thanks

I don't know about other stuff, but I have a moga pocket which paired correctly with Mojo.
Kodi works great!
No passthrough audio but everything else works well for me

Possible to use DS3 or DS4 for Gear VR gaming (rooted S7 Edge)?

Im at wits here, I tried Sixaxis with no luck to get DualShock 4 controller to work and so as the Wiimote and Wired PS2 controller.
Anyone know or have got it working themselves?
or I have to spend $80-100 for a controller for it?
thanks!
Samsung has blocked Sony's ds4 controller since their marshmallow update on Samsung devices.
It only makes sense to force consumers to purchase Samsung's own gamepad, unfortunately.
I can confirm it used to work with Android Lollipop.

PS4 remote play v2.6 working, but can't use any controller

So I got the ps4 remote play app working on my Shield but I haven't been able to get any controller working inside the ps4 remote play app.
Which is kind of weird, because all controllers I tried are working fine outside in all other apps.
One thing I haven't tried is to pair a ds4 controller with this sixaxis controller app on play store.
I head with this app it works. Can anyone confirm this?
In the ps4 remote play app there are these on screen touch buttons for use with a smartphone (I can also use them via the touchpad on my logitech keyboard).
I also read that the sixaxis controller app takes the ds4 controller input and emulates these touch button presses.
My goal would be to use other controllers than a ds4 controller, preferably a xbox one controller.
I guess if an app/module could grab controller input and emulate these touch presses in ps4 remote play app it could work....
Unfortunatly I'm no dev god that could code sth. :crying:
Maybe someone has an idea here?
What version of the app are you using and where did you download it.. can't even get that done for myself

Version 2.6 from apkmirror, newer ones don't work.
It won't work without root.
There's 2 things that are important to make it work:
In Magisk manager you have to install the Sony framework v1 module by Seyaru which makes it even possible to install the remote play app.
This also adds some Dualshock 3/4 system app.
Once installed, do not start the ps4 remote play app yet.
In Magisk manager settings activate Magisk hide. Go to Magisk hide and hide both the ps4 remote play app and the Dualshock.. app.
Now start ps4 remote play app and it should work.
Oh, if you try it on smartphone I should add: The ps4 remote play app will automatically update itself to latest version (which doesn't work) even if you deactivate auto update in playstore!
There's a modified version of ps4 remote play app v2.6 somewhere that doesn't auto update itself. But yeah.. on the Shield we don't have that problem since we sideload the app
So Shield tv needs root? I'm wanting to set this up so my mother can play her PS4, in her room, in our living room. She has no plus access to just transfer her save to the livingroom's PS4 Pro unit and doesn't want to have to manually transfer it back and forth.

Yes..or magisk and xposed modules. To be precise.
It's a shame that Sony doesn't enable ps4 remote play app for all android devices but just for their xperia devices.
Since October the PS4 remote play app is comptable with all Andoid devices including the Shield. I installed it on it but my Dualshock 4 controller seems to not we working. After launching the app, I have an error message : Dualshock is not compatible...
I also tried with the official Shield controller (v2 from 2017) and no error message, but it doesn't work better...
What's the problem ?

Anyway to use Xbox 1 controller with PS4 Remote Play?

Hello. I recently got the Samsung Note 10 plus. I was wanting to use my Xbox one controller with the PS4 Remote Play app to control my PS4 game. Is there anyway to do this?
Thanks all!
I don't know where to start with this
You want to know if you can use your Xbox controller using the PS4 Remote Play app on your Note 10 to play a PS4 game. Is that correct?

Yes. I know if I was using my PC to use PS4 remote play there is an app that will allow this. But I wanted to do it on my Note 10+
