CM is dropped for all devices pal, & we don't pay for codes to begin with, please stop spreading your misinformation further than you are, because people like you are what stop us from having a build in any capacity on this forum

Dear god i hope you can use this somehow man.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/guide-build-aosp-zerofltexx-astrubale-t3432241
Please PM me & if I can help with anything I will try, I am currently running the last build put out by that dead thread, & internet restraint is keeping me from attempting to build & fix what is currently not working or needing improvement, I'm not going to lie it's not polished & battery drain is rough but its fine after powernap & force doze, if you dont mind all the hardware bugs, which others seem to have been fixing without consumer releases to match..... All the same i hope this helped

Pretty sad almost 600 views and nobody gave him the link i have had in my bookmarks for months....... Real good support here as expected.

Edit: just extracted the boot.img as I am already on the v3.1 patch, after flashing the image from that zip it completely broke WiFi capabilities, I've gotten the same thing from RaymanFX's builds & BattleHero's, jst curious if I should flash clean or?

i see, well samsung developments are dead pretty fast anyway, the only samung device that was good for customs was s3 gt-i9300, i dislike samsung bloatware , their devices cold be so good and get max out of every hardware it have inside if it wasnt for the ****ty samsung rom , but atleast lg have good roms as far as i can see, im planning to move over to one plus 3t anyways with their oxygen os,
samsung are nice powefull phones but the no... if there are no customs then samsungs are worthless,
i like optimized roms with no crap in it and i am quite happy with audax 12 ,
i was realy satisfied with my s3 untill it broke,
i got s6edge+ after that, though i never expected devs gave up so fast on this device unlike galaxy s3

Yea man LG products show really amazing battery life after you throw the custom on, so I was aiming for a small boost over the horrible Touchwiz UI, system size, lack of xposed compatibility, + it was always glitchy & not something I would legitimately use like a small computer, with the Octa-Core CPU this phone is literally more powerful than my desktop PC, and with TouchWiz on the phone and Windows 10 on the PC they looked identical in color scheme, bloat, just garbage in general.

look at it, samsungs batteries get bigger, but there isn't much change in uptime, witch is wierd, its also a part i don't like about samsung s6, the old lg g3 d855 i have do a way beter job though im not font of their lcd screen's while lg themselfs makes led screens to they don't add it to their phones, i stayed samsung bcuz the led screen but after i see samsung try to be on par with aple with galaxy s8 i want to move on to a difrent brand, they cant imitate apple, and if they even can i don't want to bcuz i dislike apple, why dont samsung find a difrent technoligy instead removing the headphone plug like iphones, this way music can't be listened with a good headphone, what good will it have to play lossless over sucky bluetooth, i dont know what device i am gonna take next, maby a lg or sony, one plus, many brands that folow their own way instead apple, samsung should do something about its rom 1st, look at it, lg's rom is 1.5gb while the samsungs is 8-9gb, and for what ? **** that no one uses, but i see android dying if xda give up, its the same as symbian from nokia, i perfer to have ubuntu or something, a mint wil do to, eventhough im not a linux specialist but i perfer that system since the n900 was lovely with maemo/meego

We have certainly came to alot of the exact same conclusions for sure! I have an LG G2 on Verizon that actually has the same battery size as this s6 edge+, but lasts 3x as long once I threw CM onto the G2.
On the more Linux friendly side of things look up the Meizu Pro 5, if you haven't already hear about it ill fill you in,
FlymeOS came stock
Ubuntu Touch Edition Model was available
ALL the same specs as the S6 edge+, with a higher back shooter.

sweet but i already have cyanogen 14.1 ,might in the future do a new rom once i get tired of cyanogen haha, if only samsung had more updated roms instead updated phones with old rom it would be more fun, but since cyanogen died alot customs will be gone to, soon android will die out, i dont get the wole picture of android anyways, everytime a new version name and whatwould it be, minor changes with more bloatware ? give phones a clean rom without bloadware, let people deside what they wan't to install on it, samsung have the most horrible rom and it take up to muchspaceefor what it actualy can do
i hoped that ubuntu support more devices , android is borring

Lol the sizes of the S8 firmware are rumoured to be 14GB on the Nougat updates.
I swapped over to CM13 for the fact it was under 500mb, not sure if I would wanna try 14 on this thing, I feel lucky to have 13 even working lol.

i dont try cm 13 , bcuz it have bugs still, so stayed audax, samsung roms are just oversized

So you skipped cm13, but you went to 14.1?

uhm , if you talk about my lg yes , i ran for a while dirty unicorns but the phone dont like it , auto reboots, slow startup and shutdown, so i checked out cm 14.1 and its working perfect, the old lg outperform my s6 on reaction speed with cm 14.1, sofar everything works without crashings of apps, as for cm for samsung it sucks , a few bugs i dont want to have , so samsung is audax 12,

Oh! Okay yea dude I seriously don't know what it is about LG devices but even this G2 I have will give me 2 days battery life running cm12, anything in the LG line up runs great once you get it running anything other than stock, they are like super phones.

Part of why I get so p*ssed off all the time, like how can this G2 that barely made a lollipop update manage to make this beast of a Samsung seem so garbage? Lol

because cm is a bloatless rom, its like 1.5gb extracted and if you compare that with a bloated samsung rom that is 8 times that large and is like 9 a 10gb extracted, so meaning it load alot services that actualy not even is needed, and thats what eats alot resources like battery and ram, 4gb is not even enough for samsung, so it have to kill and restart processes everytime ,

The number one RAM consuming app (Using cm13) on this s6 edge+ is literally the AndroidOS app, uses 900mb of RAM at all times,
The number one battery drain, is the screen being on, not sure if it even turns off in Doze Mode, but that currently uses like 20% of the battery up, i do have a high SoT, but pretty sure it's just a bug.
---------- Post added at 03:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:28 AM ----------
Im just not 100% sure how to lower those values at all lol, Have tried quite a few things to solve these problems like an AMOLED pixel filter to help the screen battery drain, and wakelock killers, nothing works haha.

1. Samsung just re-released the S4, it's doubtful that's coming anytime soon. Besides, the biggest improvement area on android now is software, not hardware. In terms of software, LG's software is maybe even less useful than Samsungs, but atleast it's less obtrusive and not as ugly. Also, a lot of it can be modded to look more consistent with google guidelines
2. It's very fast, but it's not as smooth as a Nexus 4 on kitkat (current LG G2 version is unfortunately still 4.2.2), nor an iPhone.
It's very quick at performing advanced tasks, but basic operations are not as smooth as ios.
3. Few developers, few quality roms. Numerous tweaks you can do to make it a lot better, but it's not the best supported phone.
4. I think so. Question is, will they notice. People have had success unrooting their device.
5. Not yet. But do you need it? Video is pretty good though! Just wish there was a slow motion mode. Camera is great for the steady photographer
Everything that was said above, with the exception of the GS5... that should be coming in a few months, anytime between Feb-May of next year. The question is when is the new Galaxy F line coming out. There's talk of the Galaxy F line being the new flagship of Sammy and the S line will take a step back from the limelight. Techwise there hasn't been any huge improvement in CPU except Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 chip... but that's marginally better than the 800 chip found in the G2 and Note 3. Biggest improvement next year will probably be Sammy's new ISO Cell technology powering their 16MP cameras and the jump to WQHD resolution screens. Of course those are just rumors. And seeing as how Qualcomm hasn't yet manufactured a 64bit chip, it's unlikely the S5 will come with one unless it's an Exynos but if that was the case then I think it'd only be on the international version with no LTE capability.
Now onto the important stuff, if you DO decide to pick up the LG G2... There are several things to test out for in the store before you bring it home. Look up G2 touchscreen issues for starters. The more important bug to test for that might not be so readily apparent is discussed in this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2491371
Give it a read over, my post on that thread also has a few screenshots. Test the phone carefully before you bring it home, the problem detailed in that thread affected 3 out of the 4 LG G2s that I had.
gold3ndrag0n which version of the phone did you have?
Just going to copy paste how I feel about the ROM I posted in another thread. First I'll answer some questions you posed.
Currently development is not huge (it is a newer phone) but it is picking up. Cm is officially working on this phone so that can only bring more development.
It does void your warranty but, if you use the method on here to revert to stop, it does untrip the rooted status in the about phone info.
Don't know if you want my personal opinion or not, but incoming wall of text.
I love my g2. Coming from a RAZR xt912 its a huge upgrade.
I have not a single gripe about it aside from a currently locked boot loader. Just need to be careful rooting/flashing.
The stock experience is odd but actually not bad. Medallus has a nice stock ROM, and there are a few more if you do like the set up.
Never messed with the stock browser because I rooted it days after getting it, but there are options to download if you are not too keen on it. Naked browser and what have you.
The stock messenger is good, again different. It has some customization that makes it more personalizable.
The ROMs are picking up with it being a newer phone, but a lot are very buggy. (Gps issues, blue tooth issues, sod's and random reboots.
What seems to be the problem is cm's kernel has a lot of legacy code in it they are actively working on so it is getting better. Since most people fork cm's kernel most ROMs have the same issue.
Cm is finally official on this device, and paranoid android has about the most stable ROM I have experienced. Knock on works on all ROMs but knock off is an issue. Recently cm has put out some code to make double tapping the status back to shut off, and there is a workaround by using a third party launcher with a double tap home screen launch a screen off app.
As far as gps, there is a zip file for asop ROMs to help with it and I've noticed some people saying turn on gps while stock and getting a lock before flashing helps.
TLDR: Awesomely fast phone with a great battery, still very much a work in progress for custom ROMs, but quickly becoming stable/wonderful.

D800, the AT&T variant running stock shipped ROM D80010d.
I have this phone for few days and im really satisfied with overall performance of stock rom. Phone is really fast but im coming from s2 and can compare it only to it. The development is pretty ok i would say CM team is officially supporting device witch is great and i suspect it to better when official 4.4 kicks.
If you are worried about warranty void than dont even consider s5, it will come with knox inside and there is very small chance that someone will figure way to reset void flag. Here if you go back to stock you will reset root counter so no one will know 8f you voided warranty but answering your question: yes rooting voids warranty (almost on every phone). To answer your last question max recording resolution is 1080p with either 30 or 60fps

Should I trade my N5 for a LG G2?
Yes it has and the IR Remote is very complete.
It works with almost everything.

Updating possibilities for Samsung Galaxy Note 2

My note 2 is updated to 4.4.2. It is rooted. I have Xposed framework installed. I use the phone -as phone, for messaging (WhatsApp), browsing, note taking (Handwritten) - mostly using "Write" APP, and some illustrations using "Write" or sketching Apps. I use Google Handwriting Input as keyboard for English and Marathi (Indian Language).
The software is showing the age and phone has become slow. Cleaning provides some temporary relief. To address this "problem" and to experience the latest version of Android, I'm looking to update it to whatever is possible. I scanned through many threads and found out following:
1. There are quite a few Marshmallow ROMs for Note 2. CM 13 and Resurrection ROMS seem to be most used/discussed. There are few more (like Bliss), based on CM.
2. These ROMs, though provide latest Android version, do not provide the access to S pen.
3. For accessing S - pen DN4 seems to be the most preferred choice. As I understand, It is android version 4.4.4 - not the latest.
4. S-Pen accessibility/functionality is also available through SPenCommand APP (Paid). It's available for CyanogenMod, AOSP and MIUI ROMs.
I'd appreciate any help/suggestions on choice of choice of ROM and any experiences on using SPenCommand with any Marshmallow ROM. Any pointers on what could be pitfalls, or, nasty surprises, in the process are most welcome.
Thanks and Regards
Vikas Garud, Pune, India.
I've tried most of roms available for note 2
Miui/RR Rom/Rubbaband and much more :|
it looks like Eclipse Rom by Ac is the best out there, its based on 4.4.4 but heavily themed like s7/N5 MM .
go for it
Thanks Iskander_mal for sharing your experience!
Eclipse V8
Let me tell you my opinion as a heavy flasher on Note 2, S3 and some other phones that I own.
So we're talking about Note 2 now.
If you need new stuff, very high android experience gor for Unofficial CM13 builds by Trafalgar Square: what's not working now on he's latest build: gps, youtube in Chrome, SD Card as internal storage.
If you want something stable and fast but you don't really need the newest android go for the Official CM 11. You get OTA updates almost every 1-2 weeks and new security updates. Everything I tested so far works there.
In my opinion OCM11 and UCM13 are the best ROMs for you.
Eclipse ROM is themed and optimized with Agni Kernel. I'm not using it. I'm more into stock android because stock is faster.

Thanks once again Iskander_mal. Just one question: Does this support S-Pen? Anything specific (APP?) required for getting the S-Pen functionality for scribbling?
Thanks,
Vikas Garud
Thanks "andrewKode" for detailed response. I am looking for something stable and fast. I'm not looking for cutting edge android features. Official CM11 seems to be the way to go for these requirements. Just one doubt: How do you get the S-Pen functionality? I don't need anything fancy - scribbling on some APP like "Write", or sketching on some APP would be sufficient for me. Off course, anything extra is welcome!
Thanks and regards

I remember when I first flashed CM10 on my galaxy note II back in early 2013, there was an app on Playstore called Papyrus. It almost had same features as the stock note taking app provided by Samsung. You can check it out.
Thanks

Thanks. I was under impression that the stylus itself may not be supported. I've played around with Papyrus and it's good. I'm not particular about Samsung apps. All that I'm looking for is ability of the styles (S-Pen) to scribble something. Your response has relieved me.
Vikas Garud.
All custom roms support Stylus. Some touchwiz based custom roms also support Air Command features.
Note II was released with android jelly bean 4.1.1 which had a strange bug called Sudden Death Syndrome. That bug prompted me to root my phone and install custom ROM in it. But after flashing CM10 I missed Samsung's note taking app as I was by that time so much used to it. I was also looking for note taking app and came across papyrus.
Can someone help me root my Sprint (boost mobile) note 2? I know nothing about rooting or roms or any of that. Just letting everyone know. I'm not very tech friendly when it comes to rooting, roms, flashing or any of that. Thanks in advance! Oh and what would the benefits of rooting and installing those roms be? I have noticed my note 2 hasn't received any updates from Samsung like the person said it would when I bought it from them??

Marshmallow 5Gghz hotspot / Fast Charging
Im still looking for an appropriate upgrade for my CM 10.1 (4.2.2) install on my n7100.
I'm stuck on it since I've had quite the charging issues over time.
I use NEAK kernel to ensure fast charging (2100 mA) adjustable up to 2900 mA (but I don't know how realistic that is to achieve.
Any ideas on fast charging Kernels/ROMs?
Anyway I'm hoping that a new Marshmallow ROM gives access to establishing a 5Ghz wifi hotspot on the device.
In theory the API from Android 6.0 allows this.
Has anyone tried this OR if using a MM based ROM could you have a look?
I have that feeling though I'm not going to be able to get both
DN4 v2.1 makes you feel that you've got a touchwizz for note 4, seems to works great but I've flashed my efs also after flashing adblock host, wifi is stuck 15mins after boot... otherwise of you like samsung stuuf it's fun. btw I'm a total nub!
Then I've tried CM12.1 lollipop by Ivan, everything works, flashing host file with moab seems to introduce latency... Sometimes it did freeze. at this time VR was broken.
Now I stick with CM13 still by Ivan, even though it's not the latest, everything works flawlessly so far! As usual adding a few MB size file host is not perfect for latency flashed batch cm13, gapps nano, moab after being fully wiped.
Even if VR didn't work, it's no longer an issue.
By the way you may need the latest Bootloader, mine is PC1. There is a cap in BL, once reached a special version, you may not be able the remove it easily. I havent tried to remove that, because I'm a total nub and I've got only my daily device to play with
Globally, I was expecting much more trouble! Just try to fly everthing in a row, otherwise it did added extra freezes and latency in my case
hey i went through same problem as you are now.
i have note 2 and i am running resurrection remix marshmallow and to be honest i think its a better option to run this rom on our ageing device than going for stock 4.4.4 roms.
as for spen functionality ,look at my signature, there is a link that provides alternatives to touchwiz/spen functionality.
Honestly RR-MM is the best rom there for our phone<<<<personal preference of course

will there ever be android 6 on note 2?

Thanks "andrewKode" for detailed response. I am looking for something stable and fast. I'm not looking for cutting edge android features. Official CM11 seems to be the way to go for these requirements. Just one doubt: How do you get the S-Pen functionality? I don't need anything fancy - scribbling on some APP like "Write", or sketching on some APP would be sufficient for me. Off course, anything extra is welcome!
Thanks and regards

My friend, listen to me. Do not listen to anyone else here. If it wasn't for Cyanogenmod 13 and Android 6.0 I would have thrown my phone into trash by now. It was so bad and crappy and laggy (and all Androids before Lollipop were). You know people at google work hard to issue out new versions of android to improve performance and everything. Lollipop was a huge jump! They (samsung) didn't give us update to Lollipop or newer because you are expected to buy new Note 4 or something.
Recently I had to revert to stock rom (4.4) for a while and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was the same hardware, the same phone! How could just software make such a huge difference?
Now I see you use s-pen and that may be a problem (i lost my s-pen a while ago so I don't know how it goes).
Anyway, install any rom with android 6.0 and you'll see yorself what I'm talking about. If you don't like it you can always go back, but who in the world would do that?

I have that feeling though I'm not going to be able to get both

regarding your battery charging,i just cant begin to understand why you want to charge your battery at such high mah, given that samsung stock kernel charges it around 1800-1900mah. I hope its not a phony kernel feature otherwise its a miracle that your battery hasnt exploded yet.
i am using agni kernel and you can max charge at 2000mah which is pretty fast given my phone charges from dead to 100% in 1 hr 30min.
for 5gh wifi api,i hope you know what you are talking about. i am in no way expert but having a api and actually having a hardware that support and make use of that api are two different concepts.
i have MM ,so if you want me to,i can check it((if you tell me how to))

Flash pure marshmallow on lenovo vibe p1

Hi Team,
I am using p1a42_s288 Android 6.0.1
However I want to flash stock android marshmallow on this.. Like motorola is offering..
Is it possible?? And if yes then which rom to flash.
And will all modules work like nfc, wifi and Bluetooth??
Would really appreciate the answer..
There is not such thing as pure Marshmallow available for P1. The stock Lenovo ROM is not so cluttered as i.e. Samsung ROMs. You may root it and delete or freeze unwanted apps so you wille have almost pure Narshmallow

Hi pabgar,
Thanks for reply.. I was referring to the rom Motorola offers in their phones.. It not only half the size of what vibe p1 has but is also volte enabled..
This would free up some GBs.. Although don't really need as got 32 internal+32 external.. ++ have also disabled unneeded Google Apps like movies and music etc..
I do agree that lenovo rom is not as bloated as Samsung toch viz.. Also if put motorola rom i should also expect nougat update when motorola releases them if lenovo decides to skip on nougat update for lenovo..
Would like to hear your views on this..
Well: what you think about is porting I mean taking a ROM from one smartphone and modify it this way so it will fit to different phone. It is not a straightforward job and requires skilled developer. As far as I know nobody did this and I think nobody will do as Vibe P1 is not so popular phone.
You cannot just take Motorola ROM and flash to Lenovo P1. There are hardware differences so you will shurely brick P1
Thanks for the reply again pabgar..
I too had same thing in mind about hardware differences.. And u just confirmed it..
So definitely will not try the stunt.. Can't afford another phone.. Hehehe..
Guess will have to wait for lenovo to release a nougat update hopefully..
Btw, when u say hardware differences, do mean by motherboard and the chip / processor or everything from screen to button as moto x play and vibe p1 both have same chip set, gpu, and processor.. But not a physical home button in moto as there is in vibe p1.. As per GSM arena.. Although sim and network capability differ widely.. I understand this will definitely affect usability..
Just asking as not much of developer..

I mean everything. There may be very slight differences in example: same chipset but different modem chip, diferent magnetic sensor, and button or display so the ROM will brick P1

Pity but I do not think it is going to happen. They do not want us to use our good phones for our lifetime. They want us to buy new from them i.e. Lenovo P2. This is money.
Thanks again..
What u r saying is so true.. We are sheep who just need to be shaved for money every few months..
Like iSheep we have become aSheep.. iSheep atleast updates but aSheep have to buy new phones..
Lenovo atleast gave marshmallow for vibe.. Thats a relief..
Indeed. I still have my Galaxy Note 3. It is still a pretty powerfull smartphone capable to run Marshmallow or supposedly Nougat but Samsung ended on first, buggy Lollipop 5.0. All those cyanogenmod derivatives for N3 are "almost" perfect. Almost means everyday pain in the a..s, FCs or reboots.
So Note 3 is still with me working as high end multimedia remote controller ( as is infrared port equipped )

And that is the good news. After so many phones in my hands ( some are not listed below) i must say that P1 is the best smartphone I ever had. It is not most powerfull, not the best display or camera but it is rock solid . During almost a year with it I had NEVER any: problems, FCs, spontaneous reboots . The battery works for me from 2 to 4 days of my moderate usage. The only drawback I found is the emulated gyroscope sensor thus: I cannot fly my Parrot quadrocopter or make photosphere photos but the hell: I still have my Note 3 for that
I intended to buy P2 but I consider: if I really need to.
You will never guess what phone I just digged out from the closet and use as my business phone SonyEricsson W995

It's best bang for your bucks for 300$. This phone is a beast it's flying through everything you throw at it and battery is crazy good.
There is some Roms for it if you like flashing them for different tastes. Roms are good, they similar I think just different flavours like I said, it work well most of them.
Should you buy it? Definitely you will be glad you did, Cheers

What do you expect honestly? You want top of the range hardware AND top software and development AND you expect the phone to cost 250dollars? You cant have all of these things for such money. You want more software development? Buy oneplus 3t, it has exactly what you want. Same hardware as le pro 3, just smaller battery and better amoled screen, also costs 200dollars more. Dont want spending more? This ia best device for money, end of story
All roms are same or similar, function of the phone is the same. Just some people addicted of flashing them.
We need few roms that work good thats enough. This phone had more than few good roms.

There is official lineage os 13 running on my phone right now which works quite well. I do not count on Leeco to deliver nougat quickly, but at some point they most likely will or someone will find a way to make the camera work otherwise. And what exactly would you need it for? I want it too but "need", no.

I was afraid you would ask , it's relatively poor. Relatively! I use it "normally", meaning whatsapp, telegram, Facebook, emails, a smartwatch keeps Bluetooth on, and I check news like 5 times a day. With that and putting it in flight mode over night, it lasts 2 days with around 3 - 5 hours SOT. Turbo's roms lasted around 50 % longer, standby and SOT, but in 2 different versions of his my phone didn't collect emails and messages which is a no go for me.
And lastly, my previous LG G4 lasted one day under those conditions, so I'm still quite happy.

Compared to stock, not great. BUT, compared to other devices, it is comparable.
I don't want to open a new thread for one question so I will ask here:
does this phone have dual-4g or one of SIMs have to work on GSM, just like in le1 pro?
Dual 4g, I use Vodafone for everything and have another 3gb lte data only from t-mobile in slot 2 as backup.

I don't know if you have been keeping track, but Lineage 14.1 just arrived, so much for no1 working on this . If you like, join the developers channel, you should soon see feedback there. I'll do the update tomorrow since it's too late for me now and my kids will wake me at 6, 7 if I'm really lucky ^^.
Buy it without thinking too much it's the best choice for the price

August Security Update available

Just received the August Security patch for the Mi A2 here in Austria.
Got it in France, no change spotted... at least bug for setting suggestions' still there, but I never really expected Xiaomi would ever fix it now.
I'm not sure I'd take a new Xiaomi phone even if it was given for free....
I also received it...
The hardware difference and issues in the devices are not so much. The most important become the software. If they want to be leading supplier they should handle that.
Received in India too. Thankfully no new bugs are developed by Xiaomi this time.
funny how now we hope for no new bugs instead of hoping for fixes...

they're not supposed to create it from nothing. it's good'ol stock aosp. that's why i don't get them. fixing anything should be way easier. maintaining a good version and testing it should be much much easier. like you say, lineage is community run, it has more changes from aosp then the stock android one and you're having a better time on it. whereas xiaomi with their "mighty" dev team can't fix a settings suggestion bug in 8 months. and yet they find the time to customize android, turn it into the miui abomination and maintain that joke for 40 devices.... i dont get it.

Because miui is the image of the company.
ie: samsung - one ui,
apple - iOS,
huawei - emui.
Plus, xiaomi put ads in miui to generate income hence the cheap phone with good specs.
Edit: where as Android one is the image of Google and does not highlight the xiaomi brand hence xiaomi is restricted from doing too much cosmetic changes in Android one compare to miui,
They want minimal changes to Android one so that it wouldn't cannibalize the sales of redmi or Mi phones since Android ones is much better for being simple.

What you say is true, but for me it's not an excuse for Xiaomi to deliver crappy software for their Android One phones. Nobody forced them to go to Android one, they chose to go there, they could do the minimum service of delivering a functional and bug-less phone.
Fixing the settings suggestion bug would be simple.
Enabling Camera2 API is a very simple change
etc...
So for bugs, no discussions.
For things like Camera2 API, if there's a reason like they did not want to pay some license or anything like that, then they could state it clearly so at least people know they should not have any hope.
In any case, I am never ever buying a Xiaomi phone when I change. A1 plus A2 taught me enough about that company...

Rooting was fun back when I had my Galaxy S (the first one, you know...). Now when I buy a phone, I expect it to work out of the box, I don't want to invest the time in rooting, plus what it means in losing warranty, risk of bricking, banking or professional apps not working etc...
As well, I do want Android One because I can't stand overlays like MIUI, and I don't want to spend the money on a Pixel. There are still other brands that do Android One phone like Nokia, Moto are not Android One but close enough, etc...
The new pixel 4a is even close to be affordable, or the OnePlus Nord.
So to each one his own way to happiness, mine will be far away from Xiaomi. I do not concur with great hardware (had 4G and WiFi clunky with both A1 and A2, the backlight on A1's keys failed before 1 year, A2 stutters badly....).
Even for the price I paid, A2 is a huge disappointment, even more when I know that Xiaomi could have done better by optimizing software just a little bit. Again, nobody forced them to go Android One way, so no excuses for doing it bad... To people like me, they just committed commercial suicide.

well like i said if you can afford 1+ i wouldn't be wasting time with Xiaomi..as for hardware ..i said in relation to price .. Motorola is a good option but honestly you simply get more specs with Xiaomi for the same price nowadays ..
the reason xiaomi is dropping android 1 is in my opinion the same reason it failed on other devices and why you will get disappointed all over again just with another brand is
while it is supposed to be light, user friendly and optimized for ease of use ..it has an opposite effect
it is buggy and lacking in key functions while resulting in an unpleasant experience which is super easily bricked ..you seriously think the bugs are only Xiaomi's implementation ? well guess again ...
besides which , you could flash an aosp custom rom and custom kernel without having to root or decrypt or whatever..still get security patches and have a "moto" "android 1" experience (known as aosp for years before android 1 was conceived )..
anyway like you say , to each his own . in my case i bought my A2 refurbished from Amazon for 50€ and i can't complain about my experience , not for a second ....my previous devive was a moto e4 bought new from Amazon for +-100€ ...
in both cases i enjoy playing around with my phonee to keep myself entertainment .. that's why i joined xda anyway ... customisation and fun ..im not sure why one would buy a light 4x4 off road vechile ..and join a club if what you really want is a 2xwheel washed and parked in the garage while you sip smoothies ..what am i missing here ?
if you really really just want a phone that works no questions asked i really recommend an iPhone if you don't want to mod or customize or performance boost etc ..and im not sarcastic, if i had the spare cash i would own an iphone too.. because i enjoy the differences between different phones and hardware , since i like tech in general.

a2 official rom state
Enabling Camera2 API is a very simple change - it is not so simple.
Selfie camera (just 5 mpx) and secondary back camera (a lot of issues) are not camera 2 api compliant.
no idea why, but when i installed during august official rom, i have still no big issues till today (but some features from paranoid android are still missing ).
till today there is no camera app port or camera app which can be compared with simple usage of the stock app (open camera is for more complex control).
xiaomi wll not make any new android one phone, exactly what everybody wanted, yeah ... it is similar to olympus leaving camera market (nobody wanted it, ehm ).
Fixing the settings suggestion bug would be simple. - is it really a big issue?
ok, simple question - is there any not fixed bug which is not more app related (google duo etc.)? everynody is writing just how bad it was ... yes - 5 months ago.
