Samsung fast charger problem - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My original charger started to do something very weird: When i plug it (original fast charger and original cable from samsung) it starts fast charging my phone (s6 Edge+) and after a few minutes sometimes it heats up a lot, stops charging and discharge all my phone (to 0%), even charging with the phone off. I've tried other wall sockets in the home, same thing; tried other cable, same thing; tried to charge other phone with it, it does the same (heats up and discharge phone). Sammy warranty doesn't cover bad chargers, does it?
PS - I have the charger since October and just i month ago he started to do this

Update: went to samsung store, charger and cable replaced for free

My friend the same happened to me, the problem is with cable it self not the charger so the solution is very simple try to find ( Nokia cable )most of Nokia cables are suitable with Samsung and even it better from the original, the short one or the tall one all the same.

[Q] Samsung galaxy s4 will not charge.

My phone was charging perfectly fine less than 12 hours ago and then when i went to plug it in tonight a message popped up saying "the connected charger is incompatible with this phone. to prevent damage to your phone, charging has been stopped. To continue charging use the original charger and cable that came with this phone." The cable and charger are the equipment provided with the phone and have worked for more than half the year. I have tried plugging the phone into my computer rather than the ac adapter and the same message comes up. I have been unable to try a different cable or charger yet so I dont know if they could have become faulty, if it is the battery or something else entirely. I took out the battery after trying the charge it and it doesnt feel hot at all and does not appear to be swelling.
You already know what to do. Try a different charger.

[Q] Galaxy S5 not charging except with PC

I've been having issues with battery on my S5 for months since my purchase in late September. I have recently just bought another USB 3.0 adapter[ Insignia 3' USB 3.0 from Best Buy] which seemed to rectify my slow charge/short life problem. I recently used a Samsung USB wall adapter and it charged to 100% VERY quickly. The battery lasted for almost 2 days with regular use, being used to only a half day usually. So I had used a Micro USB charger rated at 5V = 550 mA and this would not work. I tried plugging my cable into a Samsung 5v = .7A adapter and still no luck. The cable lights up with an LED on the end when it has current, and it was lighting up on the wall but the phone does not charge, however it does charge on the PC. I've also been experiencing several issues with functionality, such as not being to control the phone sometimes because of the screen flashing, this happening after making a call I did not place. Would a factory reset potentially clear up this problem. Thanks in advance.
The stock samsung charger is 5.3v 2A (2000mA) you will need something with at least those specs to charge it properly
550mA is only 1/4 the power you need, and will likely pop the charger
0.7A is still only 700mA and less than half the power you need (2000mA / 2A)

Any idea on how to charge the P7000 faster?

I don't know about you guys, but charging my P7000 is a struggle. Literally, it takes on average 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100% with the stock charger. I tried many different chargers (Samsung 2.0A, Aukey Quick Charger, Asus VivoTab 8 Charger) and they are all amazingly slow (usually even slower than the stock one).
Could anyone figure out how to charge this phone faster? It drives me crazy to take this long to charge!!!
Thank you.
try this
Hi there!
Your problem is not a weird one my friend! I have 2 chargers: the telephone one (which sucks, unfortunately) and a huawei ascend's.
At first my elephone charger worked fine and charged my phone in 3 hours. Same with the huawei.
My telephone charger though sucks because it broke after little use (mine lasted 2 months, my gf's only 1 day and a friend's less than a month and I doubt we are the only ones with that problem).
Please try a few things to determine where you stand here:
1) charge it with another USB cable (successfully tested on another telephone)
2) charge it on a successfully tested plug.
3) if you're using an adapter, try another adapter.
If nothing there changes your battery charging time consider testing your hardware pasting this code on your phone: *#*#33#*#*
Try the charging setting and if it gives you trouble send it back for another device
I can testify the phone charges in 3 hours with the telephone or huawei ascend charger when they all work fine, but the elphone chargers and USB cables are aweful, they brake easily and the USB port on the charger loosens very quickly which doubles or triples your charging time.

Charger not working properly

Lately I've been having issues with my phone and charging. It started with the stock OEM charger getting steadily harder and harder to use.. so I bought an Aukey charger to replace it with and it completely refuses to work on my phone, so I tried another phone and tablet and it works great. I tried my super old Galaxy note 2 charger with a motorola usb cable from my maxx and it works fine... I then tried that usb cable on the aukey QC 2.0 charger and it won't work... tried the same cable again on my phone with the sammy charger and it worked... tried a QC 3.0 aukey wall charger and it won't work... yet I have a QC 2.0 incipio car charger. it was working with the USB moto cable I've had in my car since I got my Bionic... then it just stopped charging my phone, got a new USB and it works great now except the moto usb will work for friends, just not my phone.
I have absolutely no idea what's causing this... I thought maybe there was lint in the charging port so I took a tootpick and cleaned it out, got a small piece of lint, same thing with all the chargers. I can't find anything online, and being a tinkerer I've tried everything I can think of before asking. I'm starting to think the phone itself is having problems and the port is actually bad or there's something wrong in the software causing it to have problems with turbo or QC chargers.
any ideas?
There is a general inconsistency with this device and Quick Chargers... if you look in the Accessories area there are several threads discussing it.
Personally, I use the Aukey QC 2.0 charger for travel with an Eversame premium braided cable and it works fine, yet others use the same combination and it won't Turbo charge or in some cases charge at all.
I also face the same issue. Some USB cables work with my Moto X Style and some doesn't .
i am having an even worse issue and i am sure its a software problem, recently my moto x stopped charging using the moto charger so in the last two months i have 4 different chargers who worked for some time each now it just doesnt work at all, i have cleaned the port numerous times then it just stopped working so when the phone finally died all of a sudden it started charging but as soon as it switched to turbo mode the charge would stop and start over again. i have deduced its a software problem as once the phone tries to go to turbo charging mode it cant sustain the charge and cancels it. amphere even shows its discharging while on the charger , however if it starts charging while the phone is off with a low voltage adapter and turn on the phone once you dont remove the cable it will charge (extremely slowly but it will charge).

FYI... There is no software problem with charging, if there was it would affecting hundreds of thousands of people. And I doubt you have 2 software problems, a bad kernel and a bad bootloader/recovery image, because 2 different things control charging when powered on and powered off.
Issue here is you likely have a high resistance connection somewhere between the USB port and the battery itself, or a bad charging circuit... It's hardware.
while i can understand where you are coming from when the phone is in factory mode (motorola customer care told me to try) its charging fine also turbo charging is working now just it doesnt recognize the sim card. it was a suggestion from Motorola customer service desk, as i live outside of the us they gave me some options to try. they said it was a software glitch where the phone may have gotten an overload from a bad connection and caused the phone to not recognize the charger. however while the phone is off this check is not performed which is why i was getting a lower amp charger to work as the phone did not have to enable the protocol that allows for quick charge/turbo charge voltages.

Extremely slow charging

so i had my phone for around a month now and fast charging works great until around 4 days ago where the battery percentage does not even go up by 1% while charging and watching videos on youtube and i always have the "slow charging" notification even if i turn on the fast charging feature and plug the cable in correctly.
Are you using the cable and charger it came with?
some cables i got caused the same problem i had when i first got my phone and had to invest in a good set
Are you using ORIGINAL out of box charging adapter and USB cable?
I had this issue with my old HTC One where i was using very cheap 3rd party USB cable from china and my phone was DISCHARGING while it was in use and connected to the adapter at the same time.
If you lost your original USB cable i suggest you to pay 10$ and get some normal cable (i bought ANKER for my old HTC One).
fast charging only works when screen is off.
