Not getting any security patch update after january! - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I bought my 6p a month ago. I received updates till january on the same day i booted the device and then i received the february update but because i had to go out i did not install it then. After i came home, there was no option to update and since then i am stuck on january patch level and it shows 'device up to date' in system update.
Please help! I do not want to do it manually. Is there any way?

If you are not willing to do it manually, there's not a lot more you can do.

If i do it Manually then will the next updates come to me normally? Or will i have to do these updates manually from now on?

If you stay stock after manually sideloading, and stock recovery, you can accept future OTA'S with no problems.

Could you guide me how to do that? Or maybe give me a link for it? I am new to it.

I got the security patch update automatically working two days of creating this thread. I guess they sent it to me as the April patch update was coming ( i may be wrong).

VZ rolling the 6 update now. [False Alarm, Sorry]

Just hit my phone, I am rooted and kernel'd so not going to apply it. But it's on my phone, back in a few with the file for everyone.
Not in root\cache anymore?

There is no need for the file, just check the link on LogCat and post it here!
"adb logcat" and look for http://android.googleapis. blablabla
Sure it isn't the security patch to LMY48T? I got an update from LMY48M to LMY48T and haven't got anything further to go to 6

It is just the LMY48T security update.
Was hoping it was the actual update and that I was wrong Every other Nexus device has their OTA that was supposed to get it... Wonder why the Nexus 6 doesn't have one yet.

Does 6.0.1 unroot for Nexus?

It's been a long time and im just not sure. I tried to do the auto update for 6.0.1 but it brought me to recovery so i just rebooted.

You can't take an OTA if you have root and/or a custom recovery anyway. You need to remove root first. The best way to update if you're rooted is by flashing the factory images. I have detailed instructions in my guide:

Oh I see, I bought the phone used, so i'll probably just stay on 6.0.0

It's pretty easy to take it back to stock so you can use the built in updater.

Understood, but if they're planning on pushing these security updates monthly, thats a big turn off to do monthly D:

If you stay stock it's all automated. If you keep root it only takes a few minutes to update. The choice is yours of course, just want to make sure you're fully informed. If you stay on 6.0 you're going to miss out on several security patches, and features too.

Not if you go custom ROM that updates every 3 weeks. Pure Nexus is my choice on all 3 devices. Never going back to stock. FCK that

Nougat is here for Verizon devices!

I look at my system updates, and I see this! I couldn't believe it! Nougat is finally here!
Just checked and received it as well!
Has somebody captured the OTA file?
Can we root the android nougat?
I had Verizon before. They are known for doing updates late and completely messed up. At least they aren't late this time. I'm just miffed that they dropped it before RETUS.

I had every intention to but I was so excited that I forgot before I updated. If no one else does and I can find a stock file to go back to MM, I will try.

You do not need root to read most system files.
It used to be in /cache but deletes itself after the flash.

I know. Since I flashed it, I couldn't pull the ota through logcat.
My update is having issues. Tried a handful of times and would get "update could not be verified" or something similar after the download would complete update. When it doesn't fail verification, the install fails after rebooting. wtf, I have tried the VZW/Moto software update program but it returns that I have the latest software. Guess that channel might not be updated yet.

Is it an official ADDISON_VZW or is it a RETUS device?

What is the issue with the Verizon variant for root? I am willing to commit a good tip for a verifyable process to anyone that can do it in a reasonable timeframe. Anyone else willing to donate to the cause?
The bootloader can't be unlocked.

The device is official VZW. I also have the " device has failed verification" warning on start-up. I'm sure that's not helping things either...

FYI, I was able to upgrade to Nougat this morning using the VZW software upgrade assistant.

Can you extract it somehow? Mac or PC?

Tmo System Update

Anyone else getting a system update today? I've already got owacerts set as .bak and sys updates disabled, but for some reason I'm still getting the nag? Any thoughts on preventing this? Nothing to freeze in Titanium for FOTA, or System Update since it's a diff variant.
hmm i think it might be version 10p as i update a while ago

I have already released a flashable version of this update here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/rom-10p-stock-rom-flashable-zip-root-t3654049
If you are rooted you can install it. Read all the warnings first though.

I was reading here and wondered why they'd get it before anyone else I guess it makes sense now...
And here and here
I just got my Pixel 2 XL from Verizon this weekend.
How long does Verizon delay the updates to their models?
Wow, would have guessed it would drop late this month since dp2 was just released a little over a week ago.
Anyone up north receive the update yet?

Usually no delay. On the original Pixel XL, they actually received it before others at times.

Yes, but do it after installing the final 8.1.
I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I have to ask so I don't mess up my phone. I can sideload the OTA while on beta, right?

I just tried and it aborted, said the OTA was older than what was installed already.
Was on DP2 and manually flashed the official 8.1 in fastboot. Upon bootup I was prompted with an OTA update for DP2.
