how do I use "ok Google" screen of with finger print security - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have fingerprint security turned on, I like being able to just ask "ok google, what's the weather like" or "ok google, what time is it" but this doesn't seem to work since the phone expects me too unlock the phone before answering. how do I make it do google can answer without unlocking?

Go to google now, settings, voice, "ok google detection" and flip the 3rd switch to on that says trusted voice

Sometime in stock rom, even if you turn on that setting, OK Google won't work. Not always.

Google Voice Search Wont Recognize voice After Saying "ok google"

Hello all,
I am having some issues with my phone. I can say "ok google" and it will pull up google search. However, when I continue to speak it does not input any of my words into the search field. I can manually type it in but I cannot do it by voice.
Ive gone to the running app under settings, cleared data/cash for google searcha dn its still happening

Making a specific phone number "call" google voice search

Hi,
I'm wondering if it's possible to make an app that will catch a specific number if called and route the audio to other apps like googe voice search or s-voice. My one pet peeve is when I'm driving I can't start google voice search without interacting physically with my phone as the majority of autos I've seen like ford sync and subaru's off label BT systems have no way for you to do this built in. My idea is to design an app that puts a contact in your phone so you can just say "Call Google" or something similar and your car will initiate a call with the phone, but to have the phone not actually connect to the cell network but after call has been placed you hear the familiar "beep" of voice search. You know, like on windows phone you can say "Call Cortana" and she'll pick up. Or is that a special API only in windows phone?
There is Google Now Launcher, developed by Google. You just need to install it,and use it as your launcher. When on the launcher screen just say "OK Google" and it will open the voice search. You can also set it to detect "OK Google" from any app,if your device supports that.
The problem is that your device's screen needs to be on,not for all devices, but there are not many that support detecting the "OK Google" phrase with the screen locked. For more commands you can simply install Commandr , also a free app.
Hope I helped.

OK Google Stops Listening

For some reason lately, I'm finding that when using "OK Google," it'll only hear the first second or so of my query, and then stop listening and display results. So if I say
"OK Google, remind me to call Dave tomorrow"
the query will simply be "remind me" and it'll then prompt me what the reminder should be called etc etc.
Anybody know what's up with that? Running Android Nougat DP5 and the most recent Google App update.
I'm having the same problem!

disable "ok google" from the google app

Hi.
first of all sorry for my english, i'm from italy and i didn't use it for long time.
What's the question? on my galaxy s8 i don't understand how to disable "ok google" in app. The always listening is successfully disabled, so (for example) if i'm on facebook and i say "ok google".. nothing happen. But if i'm on the homescreen with the searchbar widget and i say "ok google" the voice search is activated. The same happen when i'm in the application of google.
I disabled all, the guide of google itself is different by my menu of the google application: it says go on settings>voice>Ok google detection> disable "from the google app" but on my phone i don't have the setting "from the google app"! how can i do? i Want to disable it. Help.
Thanks you

I am not using "Ok Google". Have you tried to disable Google app? Swipe up from the homescreen, find google app, tap and hold the shortcut and then when context menu appears, tap "disable". If you don't want to disable, then you can clear data of google app.
on the S8 you can go to settings -> General Management -> Language and input -> on screen keyboard -> google voice typing -> Voice Match -> turn of "ok google"
Still not disabling it in the widget on the main screen. Still activates when I say it.

Think I figured it. I don't have the Google widget but mine device would still respond to me saying Ok Google on the home screen , even if I turned off Google voice assistant.
I had to turn off / pause voice control.
Google assistant settings then phone then top right corner Google activity control. Then pause voice and audio activity. Once I rebooted after that I received a notification that I had unenrolled in the service.

Google Assistant

the microphone does not have the always on option to activate google assitant by saying "Ok Google" like in some other phones. Any solution for that?
