Alarm not sounding - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

I am using Alarm Clock Plus and if the sound is set to 'do not disturb' the alarm won't sound. I have it set to on to allow the alarm to sound. It happens for the morning alarm. This morning when I unlocked the phone then it sounded.... (30 minutes after it was suppose to sound)
Any ideas?

Do you have that specific app set in the priority app notifications section?

I'll try that. I did today turn off power saving mode completely. Tomorrow I will have two alarm clocks set... Lol

I had the same issue with timely. It was because I hadn't launched it on several days and it had been automatically set to save power. Had to set that to off so my alarms would sound.

I was experiencing the same issue with Alarm Clock Plus. You have to turn off automatic power save in order to get the alarm to sound.

I read on the nexus forums that marshmallow has a dozen feature that messes with aftermarket alarm clocks..app developer's have not fixed it...the cure was to have in on the charger and it would work
Sent from my SM-G935P using XDA-Developers mobile app

I was able to get the aftermarket alarm to work without being plugged in. I had to set the stock one prior to aftermarket one. Lol why even bother.

This is exactly what I ended up doing. Set the stock alarm 1 minute before my app to wake the phone up. My alarm wasn't sounding even trying all the other ideas... plugged in, priority notification, no auto powersave, and I don't even use Do Not Disturb.

I posted the thread for help finding whats causing it

Some people have reported that it is caused by rebooting while silent mode or vibrate mode is enabled. Disable it, reboot, then go back into your silent or vibrate mode.
Others say that disabling touch sounds resolves it as well.

audio out is sounds. mms, facebook, gplus, vibration, touch sounds unlock sounds etc. usually disabling some of those will help.
same problem here!!
does anyone have a solution for this? I have tried Franco and Faux but in both I get max 3 hours of screen time!
My problem occurs after installing VLC Player Beta. I believe its not only this app that can cause this.
Even after uninstalling the app, the AUDIOOUT_2 did not stop.
So, I went to config/applications manager/Executing and than Cache process. Just killed everything related to music or media.
At last the phone could sleep again (look at the end of "Atividade" bar).
Hope it can help you too.

Yep, so that sounds like a temporary fix... When you restart your phone, does the wakelock come back?
No. Everything is great. :good:
The culprit for me is the alarm. ..switch off alarm and wakelock audio2 is gone. ..hope this helps. .

Want to freeze the volume limiter 'Nanny' but can't find it

Just rooted the phone today and DL'd TiBu and am looking for the process that causes the volume to decrease with that ridiculous 'Listening at full volume may cause your head to explode' stupid A warning so I can freeze the thing. Tired of constantly having to increase the volume to full when listening to music and then that stupid warning popping up. What is that process called so I can freeze its azz???

Well in the past i always heard having the percentage showing kills the battery faster. I had always believed that since it seemed that way with the nexus one but you could be right. I would love to change the battery to one of the custom ones though

Well, that didn't work. The only thing it changes is no notification it's dropping the volume. It still IS dropping the volume about a third down. That is what I want to prevent, not necessarily the notification that it's doing it but the volume drop. Any ideas how to stop it from dropping the volume when I use Google Music, PowerAmp, Pandara, etc???

I use tasker for that. As soon as I plug headphones in I have it set to move volume to max. I've never found another way unfortunately.

That's one thing I miss about my old Razr Maxx, the Moto task manager that allowed me to change values during certain times of day or during certain actions. Does Tasker work pretty well doing that?? I'll charge my phone overnight at times and when it hits 100% it turns the screen on and it never goes off. And the volume is full blast at night and I'll get a task and I'll nearly jump out of my socks when it sounds.

[Q] Which alarm clock app do you use?

I am looking for a new alarm clock app and there are too many to go though and try a new one every day.
What alarm clock apps have you found and liked enough to use as your daily alarm clock? and why?
alarm clock plus has been my go to for a couple different phones now. and can be found here
Try the new free app by Timely...
Stock... Always works even through silent/vibe schedules. Just stable and works perfect for its purpose.

Timely is the best. It's a beautiful app.

Another for timely. I actually like the included alarms too, and the Smart rise feature.

Thank you everyone.
Timely Alarm Clock is very nice.
Good looking app and has a Smart alarm that starts 30min before your alarm time.
I also liked the optional match the shape challenge to turn the alarm off, it beats complex math problems and unreadable captchas.
Only wish it would have an option to use Pandora as the alarm sound.
Going to stick with Timely for a while, but still open to other suggestions.

I use HD widgets for my homescreen clock and it connects to the stock clock.
Pandora has an alarm clock in it now.... But Timely is still better.

I'll throw in with Timely users as well. I liked it enough that I bought it before Google bought Bitspin and it went free. In addition to looking great and providing device sync, wake up options, and themes it also works with Google Now functionality. Needless to say I've had the stock clock disabled for a while now.

I just bought the phone after having a Motorola Razr i.
The stock alarm that I want to use always did a strange thing this morning.
It played the song I set but after about 2 minutes it snoozed itself without touching it. I let it be and after let's say about 30 minutes it cancelled itself. Is this normal? Is this to avoid battery drain???
I like the stock alarm but right now using the google clock for my alarm.
side note - does anyone know what app the stock music player is?

Notification LEDs off in DND or charge?

Hi,
Is there a way to access the pictured setting via Tasker or some other way? Light Flow causes more problems than solving... It bucks up my notifications...
All I want to do is turn of the LED when in DND mode or on charge at night...

I found this app that is a plugin for tasker that was initially written for the Galaxy S3, but I've tested it and it works for the S7 Edge and I'm using it for my night profile.

Set up a profile for DND and use State->Variables->Variable Value->find "Interrupt Mode" in the list of variables (or manually type %INTERRUPT)
Depending on the DND mode, the values are either ALL, PRIORITY, ALARMS, or NONE
If you want the profile to activate on any DND mode, use %INTERRUPT neq ALL
Then make your task and use the LED controller plug in and under configuration set everything to off. Then create an exit task and set all of the items under "LED Settings" to on.
The DND profile runs non stop whether I'm in DND or not
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
I've tried different operators. Some keep the DND profile running regardless of the state and others stay off regardless...

I did eventually figure it out - i just could not get to the CORRECT notification access settings page...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2117829
I used the plug-in and just created a profile to turn off the LED during a specific time period, which is the same time period I have DND activated.
The plug-in reference in post #2 is no longer available in the Play Store. Does anyone have a copy of it they could post here, or send to me? I accidentally deleted it off my phone.
Edit: Never mind, I found it here:

Volume warning

Hi is there a way to disable the earphone volume warning? Thanks
Sent from my SM-G950F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Not that I'm aware of, but if you just make it a habit to put the volume full after every reboot (and dismiss the warning), it won't warn you again until the next reboot
Ok thanks. I'm just asking because I saw a video where someone disable it on galaxy s8

Settings - sound and vibrations - volume - click the three dots, media volume limiter, on, set all the way up. You can try that.

I power cycled my phone and it looked like it did not reset, that was because I had no Bluetooth hooked up after the reboot. You are correct, it does reset, and this is on a snapdragon phone in the US.
