Facebook app wrongly labeled? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone else had this issue? The official Facebook app is now labeled as Messenger on my Huawei Nexus 6p. I factory reset my phone yesterday and am all stock, but I have no idea why the label is completely wrong!

I have neither installed, so I can't compare the version number. But are you sure that is not actually the FB Messenger app?

This is not the Facebook messenger app. This is the official Facebook app as I have both installed.

So your FB app is now saying "Messenger" instead of "Facebook" too? What is Facebook thinking?!

I have both apps installed and they are listed as Facebook and Messenger respectively.

Yep, both say Messenger

Thanks for letting me know that i am not alone! On my friends' phones, theirs still say "Facebook" instead of this bogus "Messenger" label. This is driving my OCD nuts! I have three apps labeled as Messenger!

No worries. I'm sure Facebook will figure it out soon. I'm also in their beta program. Are you? Could be why.

No worries. I'm sure Facebook will fix it soon. I'm also part of Facebook's beta program. Are you? Maybe that's why ours show up differently?

Just updated Facebook app and all is fixed.

Can confirm the beta was doing this, updated just now and it has returned back to the proper name,

weird.
try uninstalling the app, reboot, then reinstall it.
I asked the same question a few weeks back, no download option was showing for me also. It is now, Try going under your Google plus accounts settings , under photos check allow viewer's to download photos, I thinks that's how I was able to download them. You have to go to the actual website not the app, hope it helps,

[Q] On stock firmware is there any way to enable the underlining of misspelled words?

I have searched for the answer and I keep seeing people say yes it does underline misspelled words already but I do not have it at all. I have combed through the settings in both the Google keyboard and the stock one.. Any help is much appreciated.

I don't recall the android spell checker. I will give it another look. Hate to beat the horse before I verify but this is with me on the stock Tmo firmware, so I dunno why it wouldn't work out the box.
This evening when I get settled I will jump back to my nandroid of the stock 4.2 firmware.

I know for a fact it didn't show a red line in chrome (in a webpage text entry field), the messaging app, and Google Plus. I will verify again this evening.

Got mine today it is bad [email protected]#. The screen is so crisp and smooth. It is a big step coming from my beloved Nexus 6. I do wish it was a little bigger but I am not going to lose any sleep over that.
I'd love to post some photos but apparently I have to post 10 times before I can submit any links.

Schedule SMS messages
