Settings force closes when accessing NFC option. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

For the past two days I have been experiencing force closes of the Settings app whenever NFC and Payment is selected, due to this I'm currently unable to turn on the NFC option in order to use Android Pay and (or) Samsung Pay. Has anyone else been experiencing this or might have some advice on what the issue may be?
Thanks

Have you disabled any apps? Maybe clear data on the NFC app?

Thanks for the advice, I'm currently using Package Disabler Pro and I had several apps disabled although I had unmarked the NFC service it would still be disable, I had to uninstall the app and reinstall, un-check NFC service and was able to access NFC and Payment. Guess it was an error on my side.

disable AT&T apps?

i google'd this but can't find anything on it and was wondering if the s3 is the first phone that allows users to disable at&t services without root. this is my first android device so i wouldn't know if that's true...
anyway, i have hotspots, navigator, messages, and updater. Carat is saying updater uses a lot of my battery, but that is the only one i can't disable in the application management menu in settings. however, i assume if i disable the other 3 then updater will have nothing to update and will consume less battery (hopefully).
has anyone tried to disable these programs with success, i.e. without it causing problems to your phone?
im not sure. but i did try to uninstall one and then it just showed up that it needed a update so i ended up redownloading the app because im so OCD about having updates not done

You go into the application manager and DISABLE the app. I have gotten rid of ALL the ATT bloatware this way. Works sort of like
Titanium Backup but you do not need the root. Great option.
CC
This is actually one of the 'features' of ICS (being able to disable apps w/o needing root). It basically very similar to "freezing" apps in TiBackup if you have root. It's generally much safer than outright deleting an app since if you do find you need it you can always re-enable it.
Make sure you have "auto update" unchecked in Google play first. Go to manage apps in settings and then go to "all".
Disable the ones that you don't need which is prolly a lot. You can also hide them if you want. While in your app drawer hit the menu button and choose hide apps.

LG V20 T-Mobile Bloatware Removal

Anyone else having issues disabling the pre-installed T-Mobile apps? The disable button is greyed out when I go into "app manager" then when I connect to the DeBloatware program it tells me my device is Blocked. No applications actually show up on the app list either in DeBloatware (besides one - T-mobile auto start program). I unlocked my bootloader thinking it may help but it did nothing for this venture. Coming from the N6P I'm really not liking the fact that I just paid as much as I did for a phone that has T-mobile all over it... Even the start up screen pisses me off.

You went into the "app manager" to do so correct? I don't get why it's greyed out for me... I have never had the problems I'm having with this phone on any other Android device when it comes to disabling or uninstalling carrier apps...
This is what I'm seeing when I go into app info for the bloatware...

Even though the process might be different from different launchers wouldn't the result be the same? I'm using the Google Now launcher & would think that it would allow me to disable the T-mobile app regardless of launcher app... or am I completely wrong?
If you can't disable the app, kill its permissions. It does pretty much the same thing. That's how I got T-Mobile apps to stop using the battery.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go this route but I would love to know why some people can simply disable the app & on my system it is completely greyed out...

I was wrong, the Tmobile app is the only one I couldn't get off the phone.
I know with Samsung I could use package disabler pro and was able to end the process and get it frozen
What I did is diable all permissions, revoke background data from the app, cleared cached and uninstalled all updates. Then don't open that app again and turn off autp update in the play store

Copy that... I want to be able to just disable the bloat like I should be able to, considering Android is open source & should be able to be customized. I purposely don't buy Applesauce phones because I like being able to tweak everything to my liking... What happened to the Android I fell in love with???
Has anybody on the T-Mobile LG V20 tried connecting their device to the DeBloater program? I'm curious if anyone else is getting the "Your device does not allow blocking" notification when connecting your phone...
Follwing.

Package Disabler for LGMobile is available in play store
Have you tried SD Maid Pro yet? I used that on my Sprint variant and was able to disable anything I wanted. Be advised, some of the apps are integrated into other apps within framework and could cause issues with apps you want to use still.

Play protect disable option not available

I'm trying to disable Play Protect in the menu of the play store and/or in Google services menu and the option to do so isn't there. I have a 918 on 10k. Also need help disabling my own personal Hate for Google button.
I came here from a Google search. The option has disappeared on my phone too. I only switched it off a few days ago.
Now it is back on with no option to turn it off. I can only guess Google have deliberately removed the option
My phone is Doogee BL5000 if that makes any difference. Android 7.0

Same. I Googled it, and my phone and Tab s2 tablet do not have the option Google says I should have. I do not even have the option in my phone setting-google services-security to disable "verify apps". I play around with Lucky Patcher sometimes and the play store calls it a virus but now I'm getting a 504 error updating Kaspersky. Everything else updated. I feel it's related.
Why turn it off?

I also use LP and there's an option to disable play protect within LP, then again we shouldn't talk about LP on xda.
I'm getting warnings about 2 apps, the one that can not be mentioned and SELinux Switch. I don't mind Google protecting us but they should at least allow us to disable it if we are confident.
There's no option to disable Play Protect any more. If you choose to "use anyway" you are still stuck with permanent explanation notifications and a permanent warning in Play Store
I can't find any information about this even from Google themselves
Hope somebody on this site can find a fix for this

I must have found the same info as you did. Are you having any issues updating any apps? There should be no reason my anti-virus won't update right now. I did just install xposed and activate the module for the "the app that cannot be named". I'll try to uninstall it when I get a chance.

No, not that I've noticed. Apps are updating as normal as far as I can tell. I do have Magisk and I'm having issues with getting SafetyNet status. Maybe that is affecting something

Paylib problem

Hier everyone
When I use my payment app, "ma carte" which includes paylib app for NFC payments, I don't find the way to make it work. I used this app whithout any problem on other phones. I can launch the app but the option to pay without contact doesn't appear...
If anyone could help me I would like appreciate,?
I hate to ask the obvious, but do you have NFC enabled, and are you aware that it's behind the camera screens?

Hey !
Question : Did you root your phone ?
I'm on OnePlus 6 but it's probably the same.
My bank (CIC) have enabled PayLib through LyfPay app two days ago, used it without problem to buy a beer, but rooted the phone yesterday after this, switched to Franco Kernel.
Magisk indicates that both SafetyNet tests are successful and Magisk is hidden from my bank app and LyfPay, but the PayLib section in the LyfPay app doesn't appear anymore ... Mhhh
Looks like it detected rooting although everything seems fine and hidden ... That's what i ask if you rooted, to see if it's not just an app or service bug and if it could resolve in a few days

Same here.
My bank app detect root and so I can't pay with gpay or bank app by nfc
If you are not seeing the option to make NFC payments in your "ma carte" app, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
1# Make sure that NFC is enabled on your phone. You can check this by going to your phone's settings and looking for the NFC option.
2# Ensure that your phone is compatible with the "ma carte" app and paylib app for NFC payments. Check the app's documentation or contact their support team to confirm.
3# Verify that your "ma carte" app and paylib app are up to date. Check the app store for any available updates and install them if necessary.
4# Try removing and reinstalling the "ma carte" app and paylib app to see if that resolves the issue.
5# Check if there are any conflicting apps or settings on your phone that may be interfering with NFC payments. For example, some antivirus apps or battery optimization settings may prevent NFC from functioning properly. Try disabling any such apps or settings temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.
6# If none of the above steps solve the problem, contact the "ma carte" and/or paylib support team for further assistance. They may have additional troubleshooting steps or be able to identify any specific issues with your account or device that are preventing NFC payments from working properly.

NFC payment bank-app doesn't work.

Hello all,
I use a dutch bank-app for wireless nfc payments (ASN betalen). It worked fine on my Nokia 7 plus, but it doesn't on the Mi 9t (MIUI 11.03.0). The app says that there are apps active that control displaybrightness and I have to turn those off otherwise it won't work. Then it directs to the 'display over other apps' settings, where the payment-app isn't listed. NFC itself works, I could pay with it until I had to use my fingerprint or pincode for verification. The app doesn't show then, so I can't give any verification.
I disabled automatic brightness and disallowed all the apps at 'display over other apps' (the payment app isn't there). I reinstalled the app several times, I gave the payment-app all the possible permissions, but it still doesn't work.
Does anybody please have some ideas I could try?
Try uninstalling all apps but the bank app.

It's set to the wallet of my simcard. But I don't think that's the issue. NFC works, I even managed to pay with it. The app just doesn't show when I need to use a pincode or fingerprint for verification.

First disable fingerprint & MI Security overlay & automatic brightness. Check: NFC on, HCE Wallet, default app "Betalen".
Then open your payment app (ASN Betalen) before you hold the top of your phone (MI 9) to the terminal.
It should work.
Now you can try to able fingerprint and other overlay apps (Mi security and/or brightness). Or don't change if it works
