Chance For Root ? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I wonder if this exploit could be used to obtain root ?
http://www.engadget.com/2016/03/22/google-warns-of-android-root-exploit/

I was excited about this so I looked into it. The Galaxy S7 runs with kernel 3.18, that exploit effects 3.4, 3.10 and 3.14 kernels.
Nice catch though but we're too secure this round.

[Q] [ROM] AT&T Galaxy S4 root and ROM

Ive been looking at forums for awhile and it seems as though my device is not supported for root or custom ROMs. i had CM on my S2 and liked it. so when i look up the process for the S4, the posts are from 2013 saying that I cant root or install CM without tripping Qfuse and bricking my phone. its mid 2015 and i am wondering if there are CM mods available, or at least root options. there seem to be some, but the link i provide implies that modding the phone might brick it due to qfuse.

There's a keep root method during the upgrade process to 5.0.1, and I'm fairly confident the developers involved with Cyanogen/Cyanogenmod are intentionally ignoring AT&T and Verizon S4's because the bootloaders are locked and uncrackable.
Oh also because they don't feel like or are incapable of (I got my money on the first one) porting it for safestrap use.

It's not possible to port it for Safestrap and have it run correctly and fully featured actually. Since they could only use the stock kernel, we can't set SELinux permissive on Lollipop, which breaks things, and AOSP and TouchWiz kernels are different so you get issues like on the Google Edition ROMs of WiFi issues, no USB, and other incompatibilities.

I forgot about the SELinux issue, but there have been successful AOSP/Google edition ports for the S4.
Not for lollipop yet, but I had a KitKat one for a while.
Only issue was needing to soft reboot after a hard reboot to get WiFi to work.
I'd put up with that for a CM port if the SELinux policies issue can be resolved.

It was still luck that those even booted, and that only worked becasue the GPE S4 kernel shared enough similarities to work. Straight AOSP builds seem not to work as well, and either way I don't think anyone wants to do so if most of the features that make it CM won't even work.

A3 2016 (SM-310F) Custom Roms?

Hi,
i'm planning to get a replacement for my Xperia Z1 Compact. I have had a Razr HD XT925 before that, and the size of that device was percet. The A3 2016 (SM-A310F) comes very close to the Motorola.
Since i've had my first Android phone, i always had custom roms installed. And since Samsungs Android is pretty crappy (have an Galaxy S6 from work), i don't want to use stock samsung roms at all.
Are there any Custom Roms für the A310F? Are they even in developement? Or does anyone want to have phones with 5" and more?
Greetings,
+1, after some research I couldn't find any custom ROM for the latest A3
I couldn't even find any custom kernel for the official ROM except the CF-Root kernel, and the possibility to unlock 4 additional cores and the 1.6 GHz frequency. But there is very little things we can tweak for now. I hope there's more to come !
I hope that, too. Bu i have to admit, since the A310F is very new, and thinking back to the Razr HD and how long it took for CR's to arrive, it's probably going to take a long while
still nothing?

Any custom ROMs or kernels for Samsung SM-T280 (Wi-Fi only)? (like Android M or CM)

Like in topic. I'm really looking for custom ROM for this model as SM-T285 already got everything
The problem with the SM-T280 is that we don't yet have a working selinux permissive kernel. I imagine once that happens (if ever), we'll see other ROMs. For now, I'm more than happy to run jedld's custom Tinker Edition on my SM-T280.

So at this point i am running tinker edition with with twrp on my sm-t280. Does this not mean we have unlocked bootloader? Can we begin to port something like cm or even lineage at this point? I would love to move to a more aosp like rom
Is there any update, or someone working on a custom Rom for sm t280? I appreciate any help on it.
+1 to check for update.
Just got this tablet to replace my broken Nexus 7 2012 which had nougat running on it. Very surprised this cant be updated with a custom rom especially seeing Tab A 10s getting nougat. There must be some hope? Samsung.... Tab A 2016 edition with 5.1.1? Come on really?? At the very least Marshmellow on it.
If you check @_mone thread for twrp and this device a little digging would show you a working SPA (permissive available) kernel, a custom kernel should only be so far away hopefully.

ROM Recommendation Request - vanilla Android + systemless root

Does anyone have a recommendation for a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 ROM that's more or less vanilla Android and capable of being used with a systemless root?
You mean a SM-G900T?
How I think LineageOS looks quite vanilla and is probably one of the most stable ROMs for the S5.
What do you mean by systemless root?
In LineageOS you can enable root for apps by flashing the su add-on.

[SM-T235] Magisk 17.2 & Safetynet Fail - How to fix that ?

Hello
Like in topic - Can someone fix this ?
Is this even possible ?
I would be happy to at least have root on stock rom - CyanogenMod LineageOS 13 have 2 small bugs ,but sadly devs don't want fix them.
Nope,sorry.
To have magisk installed and still pass safety net you need to enable magiskhide.
That feature requires a kernel version of 3.8 or higher.
Well sm t235 do not have a custom or stock ROM that have a kernel version of 3.8 or higher.
Source:I am a sm t235 user
That's sad that no dev scene for such great device....
I have this same kernel ,but seems that you have outdated rom
Here is mine screenshot

IMO stock ROM is too laggy for me.
Mine was outdated because it's a modded version with less bloat(based on stock).
I'm using cm 12 and it's now a lot smoother than Samsung stock rom.
I've freezed all bload apps on stock
can i get help to root my device? id like to install android 6.0 to my sm-t235
