How to assign specific number to be always called from 2nd SIM? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi Guys,
A new guy here. As per subject, I have a hybrid dual sim version of the S7 Edge.
In the SIM card manager you can select a "preferred" SIM card for voice/text/data calls, or set the phone to "always ask".
As I'm using a 2nd SIM card to call only 3 of my 500+ contacts I'd like to have the SIM 1 as preferred for everything, but somehow assign those 3 numbers to the 2nd SIM, so when I make a call it ALWAYS calls from SIM 2.
Is that possible?
Kind regards
Paul

Anyone..? I'm having same trouble...

Bump..

I've not seen a method to do this on the S5/6/7 Dual sim phones

1. SIM for mobile data and 2. SIM for calling?

Hi guys,
like the title says I want to use 1 SIM only for mobile data and the other SIM only for calling. I know there are settings for this and that this is possible but I want to know if I can use the "mobile data SIM" in LTE mode while receiving normal calls using the other SIM?
Is it even possible to use a mobile data only SIM in this phone? (just to be sure )
Did someone have experience with usage like this?
Thanks!

If you would have played with the settings first then you wouldn't have had asked this.
Anyway, you can choose preferred Sim for Data, Sms and Call. You may choose same sim for all 3 or 2 different as per your choice.
Whichever Sim you chose for Data will always allow you to choose from different network types like 4G/3G/2G but the 2nd sim(2nd sim in the sense the another sim, you have have chosen sim in 2nd slot for data, so in that case the sim in 1st slot) will always be on 2G. You won't be able to change that.
And I am sure you wanted to know exactly this.
And it's upto you for what purpose you use the sim.
1 use 1 sim only for data. Talk time on that is always 0. And another for call and sms.
The Sim I use for data is PrePaid and the other one a PostPaid. Just in case you had this confusion.
If you have any other confusion feel free to ask.

Oh! My bad. Didn't thought that could be a possibility too.
Feel free to ask any dual sim related issue/confusion. Will try my best to help.
Yes it works and you can put them in either SIM slot. Both slots are LTE capable and it works in both configurations. Just make sure the network options are set to "LTE/4G preferred" as they might not be by default, on the data SIM.

Can only dial out on SIM 2

Hi there,
I have the S7 dual SIM. I had been using it set up in the SIM card manager to handle calls on SIM 2 as that was my home SIM slot. I just went overseas and inserted a new SIM card in to SIM 1 slot. Then I used SIM card manager to change voice calls to be handled by SIM 1 but it always dials out on SIM 2.
I can't find any other settings relating to choice of SIM cards......does anyone know how?
I have it set to "always ask" for the time being as this is the only way to dial out on SIM 1.
Thanx for any help.

Dual Sim phone with switchable primary sim slot?

Dear Guys!
I would like to buy a new phone with dual sim ability.
I work in two different country with two different sim card. Is there a phone that can switch primary sim card slot.
If I'm in country one I would like to use sim1 with 4G and when I cross the border I switch to sim2 and use 4G with the 2nd card?
I dont want to use 4G simultaneously!
Thanks for the replies!
Bye, Jampy

S7 Edge dual SIM control

Hi Guys !
I have a Samsung S7 edge duos, for which i want to use two SIM cards - SIM 1 is my home SIM, and SIM 2 is a Global roaming SIM with data and Voice.
My question is whether its possible to set my phone in such a way that when I go on roaming i want my SIM 1 to deactivate data services and SIM 2 data services to kick in, since this a global SIM.
Is there an App for that or is there some kind of settings for the same.
Help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
John
Not sure if you can do this, maybe with a task scheduler? Best choice is just to manually set your SIM2 to be the main SIM.
The only thing that might work is to call transfer sim 1 to sim two so that any calls received will ring on sim 2 which you can select as the active.
You can not cross connect the apns since they are linked to different sim cards.
Did you try all the dual sim manager apps? they say they do just that!!!
