Custom notifications - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Is there a way to set custom notification tones (not ringtones)? I play 4 games that give bonuses and it would be nice to be able to distingish them -- especially while I am playing them.

Depending on the app, in each apps settings there may be a place to do this. You could also try this:

Thank you so much. I had to buy the paid version to do the customized tones but it was well worth the $3.40.

You don't need Chainfire 3D for Samurai Vengeance II. Just download it from the Samsung Apps-app.
Very nice video mate. I don't have the samsung app store on my phone, anyone have a link to it or a link to asphalt 6....!?

Nope .
Nice Videos!
Anyone got GTA3 working on the Note? I had bought it for my SG2 from the market but though it's very playable on the note, it shows incompatible to me. :-(

With those of you having trouble getting/running GTA 3 on your Note, I also had trouble running it.....Until now...
Like many others the game is no longer available in the market place & even when attempting to purchase it online I get the message ''no devices/your device is not supported''
I had to do things the hard way by manually looking for and installing the GTA 3 apk file.
When this was complete things got worse. When attempting to install the game data via wifi I got the following message ''Data download authorization error. Is the time on your device set correctly?"
Regardless of what I tried to do the message would continue.
Once again I had to mess about looking for the data files for GTA 3 to manually run the game without the need to download it via wifi.
I then downloaded the game data & copied it to my android/data folder.
When launching the game you will still be prompted to update. If you decline it the game closes, if you accept you get the above error about the time zone.
What I had to do was to press the back button on the note. The screen would then go black and stay black.
Lastly I pushed the home button, I did not close the game but went to my home screen (game was still running in the taskbar) I then open my task bar and press GTA 3. Bam, it now works!
Anyone have any questions?
I have a fixed APK though... deleted all my files and am trying to download and reinstall, will let you know if it works at this time
What a releif I had no problem installing GTA3..
It may be of interest to some that it plays completely smoothly when clocked at 800MHz, and very slightly choppy but totally playable at 500MHz.
Also, the only games I think anybody needs are GTA3, and Zelda OoT and Majora's mask - both run smoothly with N64oid, though the latter is more demanding. I found that MM was not playable until I bought setCPU (rooted etc.), but interestingly I can play it completely smoothly when clocked at 1000MHz.
But PLEASE has anyone had success with PS1 or NDS emulators? I find that when starting an emulation, both just show the controls but fail to load a game :/

What music app do you guys use?

Just curious to see what everyone's running. I was using Google play Music until it started disorganizing my music a couple days ago in ABC order instead of actual tracklist order. So now I use nice player! What do you guys use?

I mainly use google play music because I have most of my music stored on the cloud, but for local I used to use PowerAmp which was awesome and sometimes I use Maple - it has some really cool features like pitch and speed adjustment.
but I think theres already a thread on this somewhere, in the apps section so you should probably look there
I hate how Google Play music makes it so hard just to get to the All Songs list. I think it requires at least three or four button presses, which I might be doing wrong but it's annoying to do if it really is that way.

I agree with this. I wish Google made the music app similar to those in TouchWiz or Sony xperias. Although I don't like the UI of Play Music, I'm kind of forced to use it due the N4's limited storage and Play's free song upload feature.

It's either been locked or disappeared forever, like this thread will be.
Shuttle+ is the best on my opinion, design, options and functions.
There is a thread made in themes and app section for all you guys.. It will help you all for knowing yhe various Music app people use..:good:
I use power amp and think it's totally worth the money. And yeah what other people said, there's a thread about this in the themes and apps forum where you can read about it there.
I personally went with power amp because the other media players annoyed me with the wrong album art work and would display the same artwork for all songs even though the artwork was completely irrelevant

Play Music. its simple and doesnt eat a lot of battery compare to 3rd part music apps -_-.
Play Music + Viper4android as my equalizer. Doesn't eat a lot of battery and it makes your 10 in ear earphones sound like Hi-end headphones.
I use Google Play Music now since I subscribed to All Access. But if I was using local files I'd be using PowerAmp.

Music Player Problem and [Q]Best Music Player?

Today by luck i discovered that note 3 music player plays one of my mp3 file with a distortion. First i thought it was my machine or the samsungs earpieces that come with the phone. i tried earpieces with my old note one and it had no problem then i tried same file with my wives and friends note 3 phones and all of the them have the same problem. Then i tried with poweramp and it works like a charm.
So after this information my question is "What is the best free music player for Note 3?"
thank you.

actually i liked it and i can pay for it but i prefer using folders while choosing my music and it show lots of unnecessary folders. that made me not to buy it.
I know you said free, but seriously for 1,000 reasons I think PlayerPro Music Player is the best one out there. Worth every cent - been using it for years.
I especially love how it allows you to select and download various skins, as well as customize what views/browsers displayed. I also think it has the nicest widgets.

[Q] I constantly get notifications sounds, but there arent any notifications?!

Hey guys
Since I got the Note 3, I've been getting the standard notification sound constantly and whenever I check, there are no notifications at all..This happens a few times every hour, it is driving me nuts. Anyone know what could possibly cause this?
You must have installed a free app that generates ads and it causes these notifications.
Sent from Note 3 (The beauty & beast)
But there are no ads in my notifcationbar? And my phone is not rooted = no adblock..I feel like Light Flow or Tapatalk is causing it, not sure tho..
Same here.
I am very conservative with installing apps.
I only install official & trusted apps.
So I know there's no spam.

Yeah kinda same here. I've quite a few installed, but all very known apps: SwiftKey, Tapatalk, Soundhound, Facbook, Reddit News, Chrome, TuniIn Radio Pro etc etc...all of my installed apps should be very trustworthy
Then could be 1 app which is scheduled to bring sounds? For example when I had note 2, I installed prayers app which used to tell me about prayers time daily with just notification sound. In the beginning I was worried what causing it, then later found out it was that app.
Sent from Note 3 (The beauty & beast)
I'm very sure that I havent set any schedule up, that's for sure. Might have done it by itself tho, I dont know. But it's really not at specific timings, its just random and constantly throughout the day really, so I doubt it.
Settings-> Device->Accessibility->Notification reminder It was driving me crazy a month ago...
Hit thanks if it helps

Best equalizer for the LG G6? (No root)

Hi guys, i just got a lg g6 and discovered it doesnt has a native equalizer. What is a good equalizer to download and use with the G6 without rooting it. I download the "equalizer pro" from google play, it looks to work (even has amp) but i wonder if there's something better.

I'm in the same boat. It's disappointing LG doesn't' include a native or global equalizer. It's hit or miss trying to find one that works and not cutting out and quit working. I have troubles with them on my Nexus 7 and the HTC One M7 i used to have. The 3rd party one's aren't always reliable. and definitely don't sound as good as poweramp. I cam from a Galaxy S7 and it had a nice EQ app on it. It's a shame samsung has all curved screens. I would go back to Samsung because of the EQ, great selection of themes for the native theme app, and a more reliable camera.

Try the Equalizer from the "Smart Android Apps, LLC". It's on the google play. It looks to work well here. Buy the unlocked version and try out. If you don't like, just refund it. Come back later with the results. I'm enjoying it

I switched recently from VLC to Poweramp pro. Well worth the $3.99 imho. That is, if you want a media player as well. The equalizer is ten band and has a powerful preamp and bass/treble boost . The sound over bluetooth with the built in aptX HD is excellent, I thought VLC was good but Poweramp blows it away. Plus it doesn't have much of an impact on the battery when playing music in the car.

Works also for me and has no always on notification (only during playing music). I needed to disable "Global audio output mix" to get it running after reboot.
I'm still hesitate to root to install Viper4Android (that I usually use on my other devices). Except I want to know before if root disable the OTA of the system.
Best so far with no root

I just downloaded the app from mediafire and unzipped the file. It installed then automatically updated the app. I have a Verizon G6, so maybe that is the difference. I also have my developer options turned on. I wish I could give you more information, but I am not that technically proficient with Android.
Update..
Tried it again and it would not update without root access. The program loads but doesn't work. Sorry, should have tried before posting.
Just stumbled across this, i dont know if you're still looking for it, but I've found that the Cyanogen Audio FX works just fine for most applications. You can get it without root via the Appstore, there's an app called "Cyanogen Apps", which offers you every Cyanogen Specific app to download and install. It is 100% safe and I've used it on many phones so far without root. One downside however is that it sometimes takes a while to catch up if you switch songs manually. Also, you will need to fiddle a bit with your battery saver settings as they are likely to kill the app when it is idle for a short amount of time (which happens after switching manually). It offers great bass boost settings as well as a virtualizer (which im not a fan of) and basic controls, i. E. 5 frequency settings, similar to the built in equalizer which only works for the native music app. Sound quality stays similar and unless you are using 600 dollar studio equipment, you will not hear a drop in quality.
